A little more Christmas…

Some tags to share today…I had so much fun making these!  It was a tag happy Christmas for me!  The grandkids were over to make tags a couple times and then I made tag kits for the ones that couldn’t make it over.  A happy ‘gram’!  : )

Then I made tags for our gifts, to match the Hallmark gift wrap.

For the ladies gifts I used the Stampin Up Wondrous Wreath stamp and die sets.

PamSparksSUWreathJoyTagOnPkg copy

I used a Lawn Fawn background stamp for the stitching lines on the My Favorites Things Pierced fishtail flag die.  A Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle for the red piece behind the stamped stitched background banner.

A picture of all six together…

PamSparksSUWreathJoyTag700

Using the SU sets was a bit of a challenge.  They match up but the only way I could get them good enough to suit me was using the Stamp a ma jig to stamp.  I cut the center of the wreath in the card-stock first, then stamped with the Stamp a ma jig, then die cut the outside of the wreath.  I purchase Stampin Up HERE.  Tell her ‘Pam’ sent you!

PamSparksSUWreathJoyTagSgl600

I added a little SU Real Red marker to the bow and die cut the word Joy from the die set in Gold metallic card-stock.

The tag for the guys turned out really neat too!

PamSparksSavvyDeerHeadGroup700

I used the Papertrey Ink Phrase Play #9 die, cut in white…cut a tag snowflake for each in dark blue.  (the tag back is a dark blue rectangle I cut on the paper cutter and used the corner rounder punch on the corners)

I popped out the white snowflake and pieced in the blue snowflake.  Yes, you need to put the itty bitty white pieces back in the snowflake but it’s really easy.  Put scotch tape on the back, lay the white snowflake on top of the blue and with your paper piercer push the itty bitty pieces into the holes. They will stick there because of the scotch tape. When I die cut the white, the snowflake stayed intact.  I used the heavier white card-stock, so if yours doesn’t stay together, try heavier card-stock.  Although I did have to use one piece of copy machine paper to shim it, didn’t take much at all.

I still used the white snowflake too!

PamSparksSavvyDeerHead600

The Deerhead die cut is from Savvy! I love that it’s a side view!  The twine is Lawn Trimmings from Lawn Fawn.  I die cut the word winter from dark blue card too and pieced it into the white.  Scotch tape on the back of the Winter banner, holds the letters in place.  Then I used mounting squares to put it in place on the tag.  Sure you could use scor-tape of dbl sided tape but in this case, since I’m using mounting squares, scotch tape is my new best friend! hehe

Linking up the Deerhead tag to the Showcase Your Style challenge blog – die cut

For the two youngest grandsons, I used a little bear stamp from Lawn Fawn on their tags.  The older boys got owls.  The girls tags I made with snowflakes but I didn’t get a picture of the girls. oops!

PamSparksJingleBearTag600

The Jingle all the way die is from Taylored Expressions.  Back in October Taylor had a stamp day here in Iowa, called Stamp Joy.  I was able to go and help with make n takes. I’m finally getting to use one of my purchases anyway! TE put on an awesome day of stamping!

The snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch.  The greenery is from the Magnolia, All I want for Christmas die club kit.

and a close up of the owl tag…

I used a white gel pen on the hat and a white glitter dome for the pom pom on the hat.  Cute!

A happy time with family and lots of pictures to treasure these days that go by so fast!

Simon Says Stamp Cold Hands Warm Hearts release…

PamSparksWarmWishesCocoa700

Hi everyone! Are you enjoying the beautiful days we’ve been having?  love it!  Soon enough we’ll be thinking about staying warm, here in Iowa anyway!

I made a few cards using some of the new Simon Says Stamps October Release Cold Hands Warm Heart.

1_121

Oh what fun!  Awesome stamp sets, die sets, stencils and supplies! The mug, heart and sentiment are from the Winter Warmth stamp set.  The oval the mug is sitting on is from the Dash Line Shapes stamp set.

I took a CAS approach for my three cards today and some color book therapy!  Oh, the little holly and berries with the mug is from Lawn Fawn though.

PamSparksWarmWishesBrrrr700

On this Brrr card… I used one of the dies from the Stitched Slopes and Hills die set to make the clothes line. I stamped the images from the Winter Warmth stamp set to appear like they are hanging. What an awesome die set!  Can’t wait to use it for landscape type scenes!

PamSparksWarmWishesBrrrrClose

This card was ‘spotted’ on the SSS Flickr page!  yay!  Thank you SSS!

Here’s another new die I got to play with…it’s called the Triangle Pattern Wafer die.

PamSparksWarmWishesTree700

I die cut it twice, in white and green, then filled in the white with green to give it a tree like look.  A neat die and it cut beautifully!

The Merry Christmas sentiment is from a poppystamps Merry Christmas background die.  I cut it but left the letters in the cut.

For my card today – I used Lawn Fawn’s darling Making Frosty Friends clear stamp set, You’ve Got Mail clear stamp set and the holly is from the NEW Joy To the Woods clear stamp set.  I used the coordinating die sets too… all linked below. Don’t you love all the clear stamps and matching die sets?!

The snowflake pattern paper (beanie) is from the adorable Snow Day Collection that just came out.

  • I stamped the postcard, cancellation and wavy lines stamps on white card-stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • I die cut the stamped postcard with the new Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles die (love them!)
  • I stamped the sentiment from You’ve Got Mail stamp set in red ink
  • I stamped the snowflakes from Making Frosty Friends stamp set with Versamark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder
  • I masked off the edges with Eclipse Masking strips
  • I inked the postcard area with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress ink and the ink blending tools, the clear embossed snowflakes resist the ink
  • I die cut red pattern paper with the new Stitched Rectangles die,  then I used my Perfect Layers mini rulers and mat to achieve the 1/16th inch black frame.  I LOVE the 1/16th inch ruler!  Links to the tools below and in the sidebar…be sure to use the code Sparks5% to save 5% off your order!
  • I die cut another Stitched Rectangles die from white card-stock and adhered it to a white A2 card base.

Lawn Fawn One Layer Card Challenge…

PamSparksLFTreeLotScene700

Sometimes I feel like a kid at Christmas… giddy with excitement!  I can hardly wait to share what I make! lol

If you lived across the street from me… I’d be over showing you… asking your opinion on this or that until I was done!  Well, then I’d probably be asking you if I should change this or that after the fact! ugh. lol

I had so much fun making this scene!  When I saw the Lawn Fawn Challenge was create a one layer card… I had a good idea what I wanted to do!   Here it is down to the wire but I’m getting it in before the deadline!

When our daughters were growing up we always went to a tree farm, picked out the tree and had it cut down.  Well, we didn’t keep doing that after they left home… haha.  We started going to Des Moines to a wonderful tree lot and sure enough…there is an Airstream camper there for you to go settle up and pay in.  So I had to put one in my scene!  Cute!

So here it is… the lighted Christmas tree lot!  I love it!  Silly me!

PamSparksLFTreeLotSceneClose

I will put links to all the sets I used below… I used Distress inks…peeled paint, tumbled glass, broken china, chipped sapphire.  I colored the camper and bunny with copics.  The silver on the camper is a metallic silver gel pen.  White embossing powder for the snowflakes and lights.  Frosted Lace stickles for the bit of sparkle.

It’s ALL one layer!  : )

Perfect Paper Crafting and Xyron Blog Hop…

XyronHop

WELCOME!

So excited to share some cards with you, that I made using Perfect Paper Crafting and Xyron’s awesome products!

The Perfect Paper Crafting team is posting today but you can take all week to hop around and comment for a chance to win a fabulous prize!  $50 gift certificate! (winner to be announced the 25th on the PPC blog)

The Xyron team will be posting each day on the Xyron blog and giving away prizes every day!

My first card for today will make you laugh…brrring brrring

PamSparksPWTelephone700

I do! lol

I love this sentiment from Printworks and use it anytime I use a telephone!  This adorable telephone image and the floral background stamp are NEW and also from Printworks.  I embossed the telephone and the flowers (multiple times) with white pigment ink and Tsukineko’s Imagine White Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is stamped with black pigment ink and embossed with Tsukineko’s Imagine Black Embossing Powder.  I die cut the sentiment with a die from Lawn Fawn.

I used Printworks stamp pads for watercoloring the white embossed flowers (watercolor paper).  Go back in time…the first CHA type show I went to was in 1995.  Printworks was there teaching Annette’s (the owner and artist) watercolor techniques.  She introduced using stamp pads for watercolor way back then! It’s stood the test of time for sure!

What can I say that I haven’t said a million times about the Perfect Paper Crafting Layering Tools!  They are the BEST!  I Love these tools!  I didn’t think there would be any room for improvement but I love the mini tools and mat more!  I’m glad I have both sets though because today I needed to use the one inch ruler that just comes in the long ruler size.

It’s so nice to get the professional look of even borders along with the charm of a handmade card.  Use Sparks 5% off at checkout to get 5% off your PPC order!  Thank you for clicking through my links.

What did I use from Xyron?  Well, they have this awesome Mega Tape Runner… looks like this…

1_82605_FS

wow!  It’s great!  It dispenses permanent adhesive dots and is refillable.  So easy to operate too… not too big and not small either!  It just works!  YAY!  I used this to put most of my layers together.

I adhered the telephone panel to the white embossed panel with Xyron ¼ in. High Tack Double Sided Tape…

SBC_xy-100068.gif

and the sequins with Xyron High Tack Adhesive Dots…perfect!

SBC_xy-100070.gif

My next two cards are wedding cards…

PamSparksPottyPPLWedding700

Here I used the Perfect Layers Mini Tools and Mat to cut my card base.  I scored and folded a sheet of 8.5×11 card-stock, then adhered my main panel to the folded card base with the Xyron Mega Tape Runner, then used my mini tool to cut the border on the other three sides.

I used the Xyron Mega Tape Runner to adhere the Studio Calico wood veneer potty people to the circle too!  Yep, they stick great!  I was able to rub away any excess before I stuck them down, so easy because it’s dot adhesive. (looks like the wood veneer potty people have been discontinued)

My inspiration for this card came from Maile Belles’ card HERE.

I partial die cut a circle and then die cut two complete circles for the layers.

PamSparksTwoLivesPottyPPL700

Another fun wedding card using a Memory Box border die, Printworks stamps, wood Potty People and a Doodlebug red heart embellishment.

Again I used my Perfect Layers tool to cut the three sides of my card base and the Xyron Mega Tape Runner to adhere the layers and the potty people.

Wonderful tools!  Wonderful adhesives!  Thank you PPC and Xyron!

Your next stop is Jenny’s blog! Enjoy the hop, be inspired and I hope you win!
