Memory Box Gladiola Blossom and Leaves Birthday Card…

Hi everyone! Have you seen the NEW Memory Box Gladiola Release?  I’m not sure how many flowers we’re up to now but a gal could make a big bouquet if she had a notion to!

Easy card here…I picked two patterns from two 6×6 paper pads, cut them in strips, used scor-tape on the back to hold them together, then glued it to a white cardbase.

I die cut the Gladiola Blossom and Leaves die in Neenah heavyweight white cardstock and ink blended on the colors.

A little Shaded Lilac Distress on the flower petals, then Wilted Violet Distress on the stamens and on the edges of the flower petals.

For the leaves I used Altenew inks, Shadow Creek and Mountain Pine.

I used my favorite thin mounting tape to adhere the flower and a little on the right side of the Happy Birthday to you circle sentiment Greeting Tab.

And it was done!  A2 size.  I love this green plaid!  It looks like the green outside right now!  We’ve had lots of rain so everything is growing beautifully!

Spellbinders Paper Arts April Stencil of the Month Club Card…

Hi everyone! I’m thinking every cardmaker has dmc floss in their history if not in their craft stash!

What a fun stencil for the club of the month at Spellbinders!  I had fun laying out the colors to use the second time.  I did a run through with all six skeins the same the first try and it turned out nice but I decided to try again and be more colorful!

I used Distress Oxide ink pads in the colors in the photo. I had pretty good luck with using my blender brushes I have reserved just for oxides!   It was a little trickier on the last Delicata Gold color.  I was using a dabber and I did get gold where I didn’t want it… thus the sentiment is diagonal!  Cover up!!! haha

I used the Happy Birthday foil plate from the Essential Glimmer Sentiments set.

The Tombow Mono sand eraser came in handy for a little erasing on my panel and a teeny place on my hot foil sentiment.

Fun!  An A2 size card that will mail easy and make someone smile when they receive it!

Have a crafty weekend or a beautiful time outside if the weather cooperates!  I just looked at our forecast and it could be 80˚ on Saturday here in Iowa!  I’m looking forward to hanging out my ferns on the front porch again.  ttul!

P.S. You can sign up for the Spellbinder Clubs of the Month through the 27th!  So many fun sets this month!  I’ll link you below! Click or tap on  [SPL]

Spellbinders Peony Celebration Birthday Card…

Hi everyone! A cheery Spring peony clean and simple card to share with you today!  NEW from Spellbinders and designed by Yana Smakula….so pretty!  It can be made with so many techniques!

I started by die cutting both dies in the set from white Hammermill cardstock.

Next I placed the floral die face down on the larger plain white die cut, taped the die in place and ran it through my die cutting machine with the tan mat so the design is impressed (you don’t want it to cut) into the die cut.

I inked up this impressed piece with Distress Oxide Kitsch Flamingo ink and a small ink blending brush.

Then on the floral outline white die cut,  Inked the peony buds and leaves with Distress oxide inks and small brushes.

It’s a fast way to color die cuts for sure! It’s really pretty in real life too… softer looking than in the photos.

The sentiment is from a wonderful NEW Press Plates set also from Yana.  I don’t have the Press Plate system so I used Spellbinders black foil and foiled the Happy Birthday Wishes directly to the card front!  It looks so professional!

My card is 4 in. x 7 in. so it will need an A7 envelope but will still mail for one forever postage stamp.

Spellbinders NEW Stencil Club!

Hi everyone! Here we are after Christmas and moving right on to the New Year faster that the speed of light!

Have you heard about the NEW Spellbinder stencil of the month club?  I’m sure you have cuz I’m late getting my card posted for December and it’s already closed!  Usually you can order them a month later though.

This set has four stencils.  I used Distress inks and the mini circle Tim Holtz blending tools.

I used Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover and Pine Needles for the greenery.  For the heart flowers I put down Kitsch Flamingo first, then some Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral! lol  You sure wouldn’t need to use all the pinks/reds! lol

I hated to cover up all the stenciling so I went with a fun hot foiled sentiment from the Spellbinder All Occasion Mailbox Greetings Hot Foil set.

I really like how clean and simple it turned out plus it was fast to make!

It’s an A2 size card and completely mailable! I noticed the post office was running cards through the machines even if they had ‘hand cancel’ and extra postage on them.  That is really frustrating.  I even received cards that were completely rigid that had been machined. So cardmakers just put a stamp on it and call it good!  I even received a pkg that was a stamp set and a die, weighed 1.8 ounces and only had one forever stamp on it and it still came intact and no extra postage envelope wanting me to pay extra!  All this technology isn’t speeding things up or accurate!  HOHOHO!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I went MIA because I needed to get some house stuff done and be ready with gifts and 27 ppl on Christmas Eve day!  WOW!  Did we have fun!  Still smiling about it.  I thank God for our family every day!  I hope you had a blessed Christmas too. Talk to you again soon!

A Pine Wreath with Snowflakes and JOY card…

I just added a picture and I wanted to tell you that I finally got a person at wordpress that knew how to fix a couple problems I’ve reported to them about my blog.  I’m happy to say my photos are clickable again if you want to see them full size!  YAY!

Hi everyone!  This card is so frosty beautiful!  Christmas JOY is coming!

I saw a card on Instagram that I don’t have the supplies for so I used what I have.  I will give her credit for inspiring me over there.

Spellbinders Ski Lodge Embossing Folder for the background panel.  So pretty!  Embossing folders are all the rage this year and it’s because they are beautiful and add so much texture to the finished card.

AND I have GREAT NEWS!  Ski Lodge is half price with the SALE at Spellbinders that just started today!  HERE! I will link it below too if you want to finish the post before you go…

I used poppystamps Shasta Twigs for the wreath,  Memory Box Alpine Snowflakes and Brilliant Joy finish out the card.  Oh, I did use one of the NEW poppystamps Simple Rings dies for the wreath base.

I figured out the placement of the pine branches and then it glued together easily.  I only put glue on the ends of the branches and I used the small one from the die set.

I have way too many pictures today.  Messing around with lights and editing when I should’ve been doing other things! lol  Like making more cards! hoho

I die cut and embossed using Hammermill Color Copy Cover 100# cardstock and Gold Foil cardstock.  I’ll link everything below.

I love this Brilliant JOY die so much.  I probably should do a minute video on how I put it together so there’s no small gluing the letters in!  Love that!

First I die cut the base in white cardstock,  then the detail JOY top layer in white and gold cardstocks.

On the base layer, I lightly scribble Tombow mono multi glue over all of the base.

Then stick on the white outer outline from the detail JOY cut.

Then take the gold letters out of the gold detail cut and stick them in.  The glue is already there! Boom!

It’s an A2 size card.

I trimmed the embossed panel down to 4 x 5 ¼ before I adhered it to the cardbase with the super thin mounting tape I love.

Now I see this Pine Branch set isn’t available anymore.  Sorry about that.  Search it by name or shop your stash!

Memory Box Layered Cardinal CAS card…

Hi everyone! I’m in love with this CAS (clean and simple) card using the gorgeous NEW Memory Box Layered Cardinal die!

It’s a beauty…do you agree?!  There’s a 46 second video HERE (click where it says ‘play video’)  to show you how easy it is to layer up!  You can make 25 in no time! hoho

Pretty bird!   I have it sitting on the Memory Box Forest Pine Branch.  I die cut it in kraft cardstock, inked it with some Vintage Photo and Rustic Wilderness regular Distress ink pad and blending brushes.

I stamped the sentiment on the front and the one on the inside from the Birch Press Design Glad Tidings New clear stamp set.  It’s a gorgeous set of sentiments.  I’ll link it below.  They stamp beautifully in the MISTI type positioners.

The thought crossed my mind to find something to stamp with the sentiment but I didn’t follow through.  It’s so gorgeous just black on white!

I used Ranger Archival Black ink to stamp it.  I did multiple inking because I wanted it dark…  TIP for you though, make sure you put a protective sheet of copy paper in because it takes longer to dry no matter what ink with mutliple inking times!  It really annoys me when the ink transfers to the top of the card from the sentiment.

This picture and the next two, it’s hard to see the pearls but I edited them so I’m gonna post them! lol

I did blend some Aged Mahogany Distress ink/regular onto the edges of the cardinal after I put it together but I wished I’d done it before I glued it up.

This is an A2 size card.  I used white pearls in 3 sizes from Starlitstudio.net.  I’ll link below.

I mounted the bird with the super thin mounting tape that I love that Starlitstudio also carries. Check below.

Have a good rest of the week!  I’m working on stuff for our area stamp club annual Christmas party.  It’s this Friday!  Can’t believe it!  We changed to November several years ago because December was just too hectic!
