Shaker Card Video Tutorial…

In case you’re curious how I made the poppystamps Grand Hour Glass Shaker card last week, here’s a video.  There is a super cute little Small Hour Glass die also!  So fun to get creative with dies!  The Balloon Shaker card was made the same way. Scroll down or click HERE for the card photos.  TFL!

Memory Box and Imagine Crafts…

PamSparksElianaOrnMusic700

Hi everyone! Today I’m posting with some Memory Box and Imagine Crafts goodness!

I started with a Memory Box Parchment A-2 Notecard for my card base.

I cut another Parchment A-2 Notecard in half and die cut the Musicality collage die in it. (don’t worry about keeping any of the pieces, you just want the hole)

I die cut the Musicality Collage die in black glossy card-stock and inlaid it into the cut in the parchment piece.  Doing it this way keeps the lines straight and everything in place. Because I’m mounting it on the same color card-stock, I don’t need to inlay all the little pieces. Works slick!  : )  I scotch tape it in place on the back side.

Adhere the Parchment panel to your notecard.

I stamped the sentiment Joyful Combo  with Imagine Crafts Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black Pigment Ink and embossed it with Imagine Crafts Clear Embossing Powder. (I use a stampamajig for stamp placement)

I die cut the Poinsettia Bloom Trio die in Cranberry card-stock and covered all the pieces with Imagine Crafts irRESISTible Love Letter Pico Embellisher. It’s a glossy color finish that comes with a  fine line applicator.

Add a black pearl in the center of the poinsettia.

I die cut the Elliana Ornament die in White card-stock.  I inked all the pieces with Imagine Crafts Versamark ink and embossed them with multiple coats of Imagine Crafts Black and Sparkle Embossing Powders to get an ornament that ‘looks like glass’ effect. (You might want the background ornament too… it’s HERE)

I die cut the Ornament Hooks and Caps die in Black glossy card-stock for the cap and from Silver Glitter card-stock for the hook.

Wish I could show it to you IRL!

Here’s another card I made because I wanted to use some more inks and spray… as if I hadn’t made a big enough mess already! haha

PamSparksSnowflakeStencilPink

I started with an A-2 top folding White card base.

I cut a white card-stock panel and embossed the panel with the new Large Snowflakes Stencil  by running it through my Big Shot. (I show this on a couple videos. Click on the video tab under the header)

Leaving the stencil in place, I adhered it to my desk with removable tape and using Imagine Crafts finger daubers, I inked the snowflakes with Imagine Crafts Memento Luxe Wedding Dress pigment ink.  Remove the stencil and emboss with Imagine Crafts White Embossing Powder.

Using three Imagine Crafts Versacolor square ink pads, Opera Pink, Peony and Raspberry, I rubbed ink over the snowflakes.

Then I sprayed on Imagine Crafts Sparkle Shimmer Spritz and rubbed the inked surface to blend and wipe the ink off the snowflakes.

I die cut the Peace Script die in White card-stock, smeared it with Versacolor Opera Pink ink and embossed it with Imagine Crafts Iridescent Embossing Powder.

I die cut the Pine Border Background die in White card-stock also.  I adhered the Peace Script cut to the trees with little dots of Tombow Mono Multi glue, then sprayed them with the Sparkle Shimmer Spritz and mounted the trees to the card with mounting squares.

I hope you can see the sparkle in the photo.  I took the picture in full sunlight, hoping it would show up.  I really like all of Imagine Crafts products.. hard to say what is my favorite because they are all FABULOUS!!!

THANKS so much for stopping by today!  It’s sunny and beautiful here in IA… yay!

Adhering Intricate Dies Video…

Embedded Diecuts

I did take this in high definition so after you click play,  you can click the gear for a better picture and click the frame to see it large!

Here’s my technique for making your die cuts into stickers for perfect placement.  I’m really pleased with how it works… so many of the fine line dies from Memory Box are easy to pull out of shape.  After trying several things, this is what I came up with! I hope you’ll try it too!

One thing I didn’t show in the video is changing the color of the petals.  It’s really easy though… just cut the die in the color card-stock you want the petals and adhere them over the top after the process I show in the video.

On my candle card, I added the black pieces over the white after using the technique I show in the video.

  1. glue the musicality background die cut to the card base (little dots of  Tombow Mono Multi behind the notes)
  2. die cut the tall taper die just like I did the plush poinsettia in the video
  3. while still in the die, (after removing the waste) lay it right over the top of the musicality background piece, run it through the Big Shot just like I did in the video
  4. remove the die
  5. die cut the contrasting tall taper parts that you want a different color and glue on (or make them a sticker too)

The holly is from the Cabrini Ornament die. Die cut and then trim the holly away from the ornament with scissors.

Thanks for stopping by today!  ttul!

NEW Memory Box Darling Poppies die and Impression Obsession dies…

PamSparksDarlingPoppies

Another NEW die from the  Spring and Summer release, called Darling Poppies I love this sweet image and thought it’d make a great CAS just thinking of you today card.

PamSparksDarlingPoppiesClose

Here’s what I did…

Die cut the Darling Poppies die in the front of an A-2 size white notecard. You will need to keep a few of the white pieces to put back in.

Then die cut the Darling Poppies die two more times from Memory Box Meadow Green and Cranberry card-stock… by the way, die piecing is a great way to use up scraps!  YAY!

Turn the white card with the die cut hole over so the back side is facing up.

Place the green outline cut in the hole right side facing down.

Then put in the larger white piece that is between the stems, right side down.

Then using scotch tape or packing tape, tape over the back so there will be sticky on the front.

Turn the white card front, right side up.

Finish filling in the spaces with the flower petals and the three white teeny pieces.

End result…a lovely notecard to ‘snail’ mail!

I’ve had these two Winter cards waiting for me to just glitter the trees and finish!!! ugh.  I don’t know why I procrastinate getting the glitter out!  I got all these trees glittered without making a terrible mess!  YAY!

Anyway,  I needed a Winter scene swap card for stamp club last Friday…our January swap theme was a Winter Scene card but we had to cancel our January meeting because of the below zero cold.  Then we had to cancel our February meeting because of snow!  March is our catch up month… so finally… the two dreaded glitter cards are done and it wasn’t so bad after-all!

What a bummer though… can you see the glitter in the photos even?????  grrrrr… lol

PamSparksSleddingIOTreesGlitterScene

Love this sweet sledding die and snow laden tree dies … from Impression Obsession…links below in the supplies links.  Background stamp is from Hero Arts and the sentiment from Papertrey Ink.  Layers cut with my Perfect Layers Tools and Mat… links below or in the sidebar.  Videos about them under the header.

Same trees and stamps again and added the Impression Obsession bunnies.  Ranger Black enamel for the eyes.

PamSparksIOWinterSceneClose

The glitter I used is Winter White from the Art Institute Glittering System.  I put sheets of double sided adhesive on my card-stock before I die cut the trees.  After they were die cut, I peeled off the protective sheet, poured glitter on them, layed a scrap paper over the glitter and rubbed it in.  Shook off the extra glitter and put it back in the jar.  It’s a really fine, pretty glitter.

Oh, the hill die cuts are from Papertrey Ink.

Die Cutting, Embossing and Inking Memory Box Dies…

Embellishing die cuts is so fun with inks and stamps!  I have a video for today’s post showing you how I emboss and ink die cuts.

(click gear, after hitting play, to change to 720p high definition)

PamSparksPreciousButterfliesFront

I used the Chesapeake Circle and Precious Butterflies dies, cut from white card-stock.  The LOVE stamp heat embossed on black card-stock.  The card base is a MB Lagoon A-2 Notecard.

Here’s another video I made last week but I didn’t get a card made to go with it after -all.  This was my 3rd try and I was happy with it until I got it off the camera and watched it!  The blooper is at the end. haha.. boohoo!  Oh well, there might be something on here you’d want to try so I’m sharing it!

Memory Box Garden Flora Stencil and Flower Dies…

PamSparksGardenFlora650

The NEW Garden Flora Stencil from Memory Box…

On this card, I laid the stencil on top of a piece of white cardstock and taped it down with removable tape.

Using the Colorbox pigment Queue called Surfs Up, I applied the ink, all the colors, randomly, all over.

I removed the stencil and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Using the rubber stamp Mail Definitions,  Ranger Archival Black ink and a Stamp a ma jig, I stamped   the panel, starting at the top and moving down, inking and stamping three times.

Heat up your craft iron. Lay the heat embossed and stamped panel face down onto scrap paper, I use a piece of newsprint folded in half, and iron off the embossing.  Be sure to protect your work surface from the heat.

PamSparksGardenFloralHelloClose

I used some Antique Linen Distress ink and the ink blending tool to add some color to the white areas.  The areas that were heat embossed, still pretty much resist the ink.

Mat the panel with black card-stock and the Perfect Layers Tools, add your die cuts, washi tape and mount to a Parchment notecard.  I used the Kylie Stem and hello script dies.

I’m linking up my hello card  to the CASology Challenge – Contrast

This next card I used the same Garden Flora Stencil and Mail Definitions stamp but the text is in the background instead of on the flowers and stems.

PamSparksGardenFloraStencilSide

I taped the stencil to the white piece of card-stock.

Inked it all with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and the ink blending tool.

Stamped it three times with Ranger Archival Black ink and the Stamp a ma jig.

Then removed the stencil.

I spritzed the panel with Glimmer Mist Dazzling Diamonds Spray.  I wish it showed up in the photos but it’s really pretty, shimmery IRL!

I die cut the NEW Zinnia Bouquet and Zinnia Bouquet Background dies from white cardstock.  I inked the three background pieces with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and the ink blending tool.

Glue the background pieces to the Outline piece.

PamSparksGardenFloraClose

Adhere the flower to the card with mounting squares.

Tie on Hemp cord.

Add the sentiment ‘FLOWERS’ from the April Showers Bring May Flowers stamp by mounting it to a piece of the Contempo Circle Border die.

Mat the panel with Black card-stock,  the Perfect Layers Tools and adhere it to a Kraft notecard.

There are so many techniques to try with the NEW Stencils and dies!  Can’t wait to see what you all come up with too!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy stenciling!   I’m linking up to the Online Card Classes Stenciled that just started today.
