Taylored Expressions September Release and Celebration!

Pam Sparks Thanks Cutting Plate 2 Tues

Welcome and THANKS for visiting my blog today!  I’m featuring this NEW Thanks Cutting Plate die from Taylored Expressions September Release that will be available for purchase this Thursday, Release Day. Love it!

Here’s what I did for this card…I die cut the Thanks Cutting Plate two times out of watercolor paper. I cut the card base from TE Premium Cookie Monster card-stock but cut it short…a lot short!  only ⅛ inch past the 4 ¼ inch crease line.

The ⅛ th inch part of the card base I sandwiched between the top of the two Thanks Cutting Plate die cuts, sort of a hinge so to speak. That allowed me to have a see through card front but sturdy enough to stand on it’s own because of the two layers of watercolor paper glued together.  Very cool…wish you could see it in real life!

Pam Sparks Thanks Cutting Plate Close

Then I watercolored the whole thing with Zig Clean Color Brush pens and a water brush.

Pam Sparks Thanks Cutting Plate Pumpkin Tues

For this card, I did my embedding technique for intricate dies.  (pull down under the video tab above to see, Adhering Intricate Dies)

Pam Sparks Thanks Cutting Plate Pumpking

I inked the whole thing after embedding with Gathered Twigs Distress ink and the ink blending tool and then pounced on a little Delicata Gold ink pad with a big sponge dauber tool.

Some twine and then adhered to a TE Buttercream card-stock card base.

That’s my show and tell for today!  You’ll want to click over to the TE blog to see what the other gals have been up to AND to read all about TE’s 8th birthday celebration!

Taylored Expressions is celebrating its 8th birthday with some fun party favors! These include everything from the exclusive WISH BIG stamp & die combo set to patterned paper packs, ink, and more! Visit the TE Blog for all the special offers and for your chance to win a fun prize!

Taylored Expressions September Release Day…

Welcome!  We’re celebrating release day at Taylored Expressions today!

I have two cards to share using the NEW Door to Door and Door to Door Decor die sets. The first one is a Fall setting so I used the NEW Little Bits Leaves dies cut in fall colors, shaped with a stylus and edged with some Gathered Twigs Distress ink and the ink blending tool, on the wreath.

The ‘celebrating’ banner is from the NEW One and Only You stamp and die combo…a gift set when you purchase $50 for a limited time only… check it out on the TE blog. I love it!

I used the TE Brick Embossing folder and inked it with Gathered Twigs Distress ink and the ink blending tool also.

My second card is a Winter/Christmas card with the same Door to Door and Door to Door Decor sets.

I used the Bead-board Embossing folder for the background…I wanted it to look like siding. The Ice Border die across the top, the Rolling Hills Build a Scene die for the snow on the bottom, the Stitched banner from the Pockets and Pages Stitched Essentials die set, the holly leaves are from the NEW Little Bits Leaves die and the sentiment from the Baby It’s Cold Outside stamp set.

The rest of the pieces are all from the Door to Door and Door to Door Decor die sets.

These dies are so much fun!  I can see a Spring and Summer door too, a congrats on your new home, happy anniversary… good for so many occasions!  I know some of you will need a critter in the picture!  : )

Want to see more?  Click over to the TE blog for the link up to all the participating designers. Fabulous inspiration from the TE Creative Team! It’s a HUGE release this month. So much to see!

Thanks again for joining me here today. Happy creating!

Birthday Cards…

How’d it get to be August already?!  Here’s some of the birthday cards I made in July…

An older Penny Black stamp, watercolored with the Zig Clean Color Brush Pens HERE… love them! (Free shipping coupon code for August w/$80 order – AUG888)

Linking my kitty card to the Seize the Birthday Challenge – topping option embossing.

So much personality in these images!  Next up an older Penny Black Frog stamp…done up the same way.

Just makes you smile! I matted all the cards with the Perfect Layers Tools… link over in the sidebar.

On the inside of both of these cards with balloons, I stamped the Printworks sentiment E2628 E.E. Cummings – it says “and up with joy and up with laughing”.

So cute!  I would never touch one in real life! lol

A Flower card with Paper Smooches Flower stamp, vase die HERE and Printworks sentiments on the front and inside…

You can find this woodgrain cardstock at HERE.  They have it in three colors, this dark brown, kraft and white.  Their shipping is FAST!  I just ordered metallic gold and silver on Friday and there is a box on my front porch and I think it’s from them!  YAY!

Stitched Rectangles are cut with the Lawn Fawn sets HERE and HERE.

Happy Birthday stamp HERE

and the inside the stamp, Though Everyone HERE.

The next card is the Memory Box happy die from the Open Studio set HERE on a watercolor background I painted with Peerless Watercolors HERE.  The little birthday sentiment is from a poppystamps clear stamp set HERE.  I put water on the watercolor paper first, then painted in the colors. The panel is cut with the Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame die set HERE.

Coming this Thursday is the Taylored Expressions August Release Day.  I’ll be back with some cards then! Sneak Peeks from the TE Bakers Dozen are up on the blog starting today.

Memory Box and WPlus9…

Christmas in July is always so fun! I have two more cards with the Memory Box Chatfords Wreath to share today.  I love how these turned out!  I threw in some teal card-stock to throw me off the traditional Christmas colors path!  But wait…keep scrolling…I hopped back on with the second card!  Another card with this wreath HERE.

I die cut the wreath two times from two different green card-stocks, kept all the pieces and just interchanged them between the two cards.

I die cut the alphabets with score tape on the wrong side of the card-stock so they’d be stickers. It works so slick!  Easy to line up when you use the smallest size banner too! JOY is cut from metallic gold card-stock.

The white just makes it pop! Some pearls and Liquid pearls and it’s time to celebrate!  or bust out singing a carol or two!  : )

I’ll link up the dies and everything I used in inlinkz below.

I’m also linking to some challenges…
Merry Monday Christmas Challenges  – Christmas card with a heart on it

Honorable Mention

ABC Christmas Challenge – O is for Off the Edge

Dies R Us Challenge – Christmas in July
Live and Love Crafts – Christmas in July
Pile it On – Christmas in July

Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday – Die cuts

Next I have a birthday card I made for the WPlus9 Challenge and the CAS-ology Challenge…

I used the sketch from the Get Sketchy Challenge at WPlus9HERE

the challenge over at CAS-ology is Line – HERE

the challenge at Addicted To Stamps is CAS – HERE

I cut a quarter panel with the WPlus9 banner long die… it was the perfect amount of space I wanted for the ‘gap’ and an easy way to get a perfect gap! I lined each side with Washi Tape.  Stamped the Blanket Stitch flowers with chalk inks, the sentiments with Versafine black and all with the MISTI.

Thanks for visiting today!  Happy, creative weekend to you!

Perfect Paper Crafting and Art Impressions Blog Hop…

Hi everyone! I have a card to share here and a card on the PPC blog today. There’s a blog hop happening there this week!

What a fun set to color!  I love these Try” folds stamp sets form Art Impressions!  The one I used for my card is Shoppes TF-4339.

I stamped with Ranger Archival Black Ink on watercolor paper and colored with Distress Markers.  I add color to an area and move it around with a paintbrush and water.  Love how easy it is and that I’m happy in the end! lol

I didn’t do the try fold for my card… I just turned it into a scene by cutting and layering with 3D mounting squares.

Of course I had to mat the focal piece with my 1/16th inch Perfect Layer Tools… I will never quit using them! : ) They work so slick and what a time saver.  None of the back to the trimmer thing going on!  YAY!  Link to shop in the sidebar and don’t forget to use the coupon code for 10% off.

I don’t remember all the colors I used but you can’t go wrong with these stamps!  So much fun!  I have a few other sets too…thinking they could work up fun for Christmas!  You know…when you start getting tense as the holidays approach, you can always use a little color book therapy!  I know it’s good for me!

Now, if you would like to see the other card I made with Art Impressions, Chameleon Pens and Perfect Paper Crafting… hop over to the Perfect Paper Crafting blog HERE!  From there you can hop to the Art Impressions and Chameleon Pens blogs for chances to win prizes!

Thanks for stopping by today… if only we lived close enough we could run across the street for show and tell now and then!  Wouldn’t that be fun!  : )  Happy creating for Father’s Day.  I’m working on birthday cards for two of the grandsons also. Always cards to be made!  Take care!

Supplies I used …

Taylored Expressions Wild About You and On The Line…

Wow!  We survived 91˚ weather to watch our 5 yr. old grandson’s baseball game last night!  These Summer temps always bring to mind my growing up days and going to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha every Summer.  Seems like the family always picked the hottest day of the year to go! lol

This card brings up all those Zoo days.  Nowadays I prefer the Des Moines zoo.  You can get through it in an hour or so!

This cute little swinger is in the new TE Wild About You stamp set.  Color with Copics and stamp a sentiment and you’ve got a quick card.  There is a coordinating die set for it also.

The other thing I did growing up in Council Bluffs/Omaha with lots of sidewalks is bike riding! Sometimes I wonder when we stopped playing and ate lunch and supper! lol

I cut the bike in silver paper, colored it with a permanent black pen and layered it on a couple other cuts before I glued it to the scene.

I love the new On The Line die set… the squirrel is from the new On The Line Accessories set.  So cute!  The leaves on the tree are supposed to cut when you run it through but instead of cutting them for this card, I embossed them with the die.  😀   I inked the die with Peeled Paint Distress ink, placed the tree top cut back in the die and ran it through with a tan mat.

To get the hill… I used the clothesline part of the tie.  I die cut the line in dark brown and in green.  I used the waste from the green cut and placed the brown line on top of it.  I thought it made an awesome sidewalk!

The ‘thanks’ die cut is one that you get when you order from Taylored Expressions.  Every time you order you receive a complementary die, thanking you for ordering!  Isn’t that awesome?!  I think so!  I love getting something that I love free! : )   The free die varies every time, you don’t know what you’ll get.

Thanks for stopping by today! Holler if you have any questions.  Links to the products I used from the TE store below…

Printworks and Perfect Paper Crafting…

I have a Father’s Day card over on the Perfect Paper Crafting blog today!

Click over, it’s a super fun one!

Then a couple whimsical birthday cards using Printworks Birthday stamps… a couple from the new Birthday release HERE … super cute cupcake and cake stand!

I colored with Chameleon Pens and embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

The scallop border is an EK Success border punch and the pattern paper is from Printworks.

I stamped this fun sentiment on the inside… G4338-R Hope Your Birthday CLING

Linking my cupcake card up to the Retro Sketches Challenge

Here’s the new Stacked Happy Birthday stamp… I did a watercolor background with Peerless watercolors, added some white, gold and silver spatters and white embossed the sentiment on black card-stock and die cut it with an Avery Elle label die.

I die cut the background piece with Memory Box Stitched Square Layers Set, layered to black card-stock and cut the 1/8th inch border with my Perfect Layers Tools 1/8th in. ruler. Link in the sidebar…use my coupon code for PPC and Printworks!!!

Finishing touch on the front – 3 Doodlebug Sprinkles!

I stamped these fun sentiments inside… E4544 Let Your Light and D4548 As You Glow

Super cute Suzie Q from Printworks…

Hi everyone!  It seems like it’s been some time since I blogged a card!  eek!  It has been!  I’ve been making cards though and will have a Memory Box surprise to share with you soon!

This SUPER cute Suzie Q snow gal from Printworks has just been on the desk staring at me, waiting for me to ink and color her up since before Christmas!  She’s just in time for Valentines Day!

Have you heard about the NEW Chameleon Markers?  That’s what I colored with!  Very cool and my favorite thing today was how easy it was to color her cheeks!  I used the RED marker!  I know…crazy cool!

AND of course I used my Perfect Layers mini Rulers and cutting mat for layering up the papers!  Thee best things ever!  Truly are time saving in lining up and getting everything ‘perfect’!  Shop through my links and use my code to save 10%

Super cute new sentiments too… on the outside and on the inside!  One of the new snowflakes… AND Printworks is having a sale JUST TODAY!  I’ll add the details at the end of my post.  If you don’t make the sale today, shop anytime and use the code in my sidebar to save!

This is the inside of the card…

lovin’ this MME Crush 6×6 paper pad too!  I haven’t purchased pattern paper since….fortunately my memory is bad! lol   and the snowflake paper clips?!  oh my, had to have them! 5 in a pack, so two packs please! lol

oops! Beware taking pictures of the inside with vellum sticking off the top of your card front. When you fold it back and crease it…well, you get a nice line that wasn’t there before!  Like I always say, “all of life is education”.  Applies to card making too! grrrr

Then I had to have something to hold the card up to photograph the inside cuz of course it STILL wouldn’t stand up even after creasing!  I’m proud of me.  I didn’t tear it apart and do it over! @@

I’ve had this card made for a couple weeks and just now remembering to get it posted!  I saw the challenge is snow this week at CASology and it jogged my brain! yay!  So I’m linking up there!

A glittery, shiny, CAS card, perfect for a white Christmas!  Come on snow! haha

And on the inside bottom right I die cut a silver snowflake and glued it partially in the corner… pretty!  Forgot to take a picture of that though!

LOVE these new poppystamps word dies!  They are just gorgeous cuts!  LOVE them, I do!

The Simon Says Stamps snowflakes are gorgeous too and cut in the silver metallic that I didn’t take a picture of…perfect!  Fire me as a photographer! lol

I used the Perfect Layers Rulers to cut the silver mat, then adhered the layers to a white card-base.

This turned out to be a pretty much an A7 size card… hehe

Winnie & Walter Playdate #4…

I just had to make a card for this challenge!  Over on the Winnie & Walter blog there is a chance to design with their January release for one lucky winner!  oh, I love their stamps and dies, so here’s my entry!

I stamped again and only used one die!  I used my scissors and cut the stamped greenery and pinecones!  Happy stamper! lol

I stamped the pine branch from the Winter Wonderland stamp set with Versafine green ink and the pine cones from the same set with Distress Gathered Twigs ink.  I inked the edges of the kraft A2 size card and stamped the berries with Gathered Twigs also.

I stamped the Into the Woods stamp with Distress Chipped Sapphire ink and spritzed with Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts Sparkle Spritz spray.

I used the Perfect Layers Rulers to cut the white mat for the tree stamp.

After I mounted the branches on foam squares to the card base, I glued on the die cut word Peace, I die cut it in white and inked it with Distress Gathered Twigs ink, then spritzed everything again with Sparkle and Frost Sprays.

I like it! yay!  Hope you had a fun day today!
