Memory Box Layered Cardinal CAS card…

Hi everyone! I’m in love with this CAS (clean and simple) card using the gorgeous NEW Memory Box Layered Cardinal die!

It’s a beauty…do you agree?!  There’s a 46 second video HERE (click where it says ‘play video’)  to show you how easy it is to layer up!  You can make 25 in no time! hoho

Pretty bird!   I have it sitting on the Memory Box Forest Pine Branch.  I die cut it in kraft cardstock, inked it with some Vintage Photo and Rustic Wilderness regular Distress ink pad and blending brushes.

I stamped the sentiment on the front and the one on the inside from the Birch Press Design Glad Tidings New clear stamp set.  It’s a gorgeous set of sentiments.  I’ll link it below.  They stamp beautifully in the MISTI type positioners.

The thought crossed my mind to find something to stamp with the sentiment but I didn’t follow through.  It’s so gorgeous just black on white!

I used Ranger Archival Black ink to stamp it.  I did multiple inking because I wanted it dark…  TIP for you though, make sure you put a protective sheet of copy paper in because it takes longer to dry no matter what ink with mutliple inking times!  It really annoys me when the ink transfers to the top of the card from the sentiment.

This picture and the next two, it’s hard to see the pearls but I edited them so I’m gonna post them! lol

I did blend some Aged Mahogany Distress ink/regular onto the edges of the cardinal after I put it together but I wished I’d done it before I glued it up.

This is an A2 size card.  I used white pearls in 3 sizes from Starlitstudio.net.  I’ll link below.

I mounted the bird with the super thin mounting tape that I love that Starlitstudio also carries. Check below.

Thank you all so much for stopping by and all your encouraging comments!  I haven’t gotten replies sent out as much because so many are anonymous and I’ve been outside some getting the garage and plants ready for Winter.  The porches look so bare!  I do have some Winter baskets to hang out…that helps.

Have a good rest of the week!  I’m working on stuff for our area stamp club annual Christmas party.  It’s this Friday!  Can’t believe it!  We changed to November several years ago because December was just too hectic!

Catch you again soon!

Memory Box Happy Fall Gypsy Oak Leaves Card…

Happy Fall y’all!  I’m back today with some more NEW Memory Box products!  Look at this neat embossing folder!  It’s called Vintage Tray and comes with a cutting die that cuts a frame.

I die cut the embossing folder in white cardstock and swiped the Gathered Twigs Distress ink pad over the top of it a bunch of times until I liked the coverage.

I die cut the NEW Gypsy Oak Leaves dies and NEW Happy Fall Posh Script dies in white Neenah also and inked them with Distress Oxide inks and ink blending brushes. Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, Peeled Paint and Seedless Preserves are the colors I used.  On the outline die cuts I inked with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink.

I die cut a couple extra of the leaves and sentiments to layer them up for height on the card.

I stamped the words from the Harvest Love and Kindness Stamp set on a TE Candy Corn cardstock strip in the MISTI.  I hope this set is still available.  I’ll link below if it is.

I mounted the A2 size panel to an A2 size Seedless Preserves color cardbase.

I wasn’t sure I liked it while I was making it but when I finally landed on a design with my pieces I really like it!   It seems like I’m like that a lot in my cardmaking! ugh!  I just keep going and hope for the best! hohohaha Wish I could show it to you IRL!

Memory Box Christmas 2023 Release – Glorious Poinsettia Card

Hi everyone! I’m getting a poinsettia card posted before you can buy them in the stores!  I always look forward to them showing up for sale!  The seas of poinsettias when you walk in the door!

I went with pink for this BRAND NEW Glorious Poinsettia!  I used Distress Oxide Inks, Worn Lipstick, Lumberjack Plaid, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss.  I absolutely love coloring white cardstock with inks and blending tools or brushes.  I die cut and used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock this time.

I used Worn Lipstick on the tips of the leaves and Lumberjack Plaid from the centers out.

Oh, I used Fossilized Amber for the centers.  I got a little green on the center that’s connected to the stem but I liked it that way!

I used the New Merry Christmas Charmed Script Sentiment die.  I used it this way but you’ll notice on Dave’s card HERE page 43 in the Memory Box idea book that you can use it another way also!  I love having more than one option!

I used the Rectangle Double Border Hot Foil Plate and A2 Rectangle Frames Die set to make the panel the poinsettia is mounted on.

I used my fave thin mounting tape, linked below to stick the panel to the cardbase.

Spellbinders August Clear Stamp and Die Set of the Month Club…

Can you believe it’s August already?!  eek!  What I notice first is the evenings getting dusky earlier! boo!

Hope this finds you creating and feeling good anyway!

I started my card today by stamping the floral stamp in the MISTI with  Memento Desert Sand Dye ink.  I know… it’s looking pretty Summery still!  I bet I should’ve been thinking Fall colors! oh well, there’s orange here! lol

I colored with Copic Sketch Markers.

The little bit of blue is in with the green…probably hard to see.  Some of you might remember going to stamp conventions and seeing Stamps By Judith’s booth?  She always colored her green foliage with a little bit of  blue.

The background I did on watercolor paper.  Regular Distress inks pressed onto a craft sheet, spritzed with water and press the paper into the ink.  One color at a time.  Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick.  Dab off extra color with a paper towel, more water spritzed on if the color is too strong.

I spattered with White ink after it was all dry.

I stamped a portion of the main flower image on the inside with Worn Lipstick Distress ink.  I meant to use oxide but the regular was out on the desk and I picked it up without thinking.  It looks good though.

The sentiment on the front and on the inside are from the set.

There are several to choose from in this stamp set and dies for all!  It’s great!  Two dies for the floral stamp too!  You can just die cut one side or the other since they’re separate!  Very cool idea!

This is a mini slimline size card.

Birch Press Design Forest Canopy Card…

Hi everyone! Summer just isn’t Summer without at least one cherry card!  This NEW set from Birch Press Design has three layers and I used Layer A and Layer B.

I used two different green cardstocks, one red but I inked the little accent pieces on the berries with a little gathered twigs distress so they would shadow.

I love all the dimension!  I only glued the layers down around the edges.

I used the Birch Press Design Sugar Script Sentiments 1 hot foil plate and die set for the message.  Silver hot foil on black cardstock.

The sentiment is true!  🙂

I used a Hammermill white for the cardbase and inked it with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Oxide Inks and ink blender brushes.

Doesn’t it scream Summer though?

Tim was telling me yesterday that the ‘heat’ is hitting us next week.  This gal is thankful for air conditioning!

Middle daughter said she was going to have a lot of peaches and one tree is almost ready!  Yummy! I love peach cobbler!  I hope I get some! lol
