Birch Press Design Jovial Blooms and Leaves Hello Card…

Hello! Some fun blooms to show you today!  I’ll jump right in with a short coloring video.

I used three pinks and three greens from Altenew.  I’ll link the colors at the end of my post.  Really pretty colors in real life.

I dry embossed the BPD hello Sugar Script hot foil plate and die from the Spring of ’22 release with my big shot (in the video you’ll see I did it in gold but didn’t end up using it) and inked it with the Altenew pink set of inks also.

I used the leaves from the NEW Birch Press Design Phlox Blooms and Leaves Contour Layers die set and inked them the same as I did the others in the video.

The background die is BPD Pinpoint Contour Plate die from this year’s Valentine release cut in white cardstock and cut down with the NEW Memory Box A2 Rectangle Frames Die Set.

I love these cute whimsical flowers!

This is an A2 size card.

Birch Press Design Meridian Ornament Easel Cards…

Hi everyone!  I have four easel cards to share with you today.  As I was making these, thinking about how fun and easy, it hit me how cute they would be for table place cards!  They would be beautiful just using the ornament part and hanging on a tree or used for a gift tag with a beautiful bow!

They’re so easy to make…I started with the black one and just kept going trying to use up the pieces!

The NEW Birch Press Design Meridian Ornament is a Layering Set.  I used all three layers for all but one.

The easel part is the Birch Press Design Christmas Ornament Pop Up Easel die set. I didn’t use the ornament that comes with the set this time but I did HERE in this post.  I’ll link everything below.

Here’s what I did inside this black glossy one.

I used Memory Box Black Glossy Cardstock and the NEW Memory Box 6×6 Vintage Pastel Mirror cardstock pad.

The happy Christmas sentiment is from BPD Contempo Christmas Greetings clear stamp set and die set.  I love this set!

So from the black one I carried on to three other variations!

I just got to playing using the same dies and stamp set.  I know…I brought in pink!  A contrasting color!  Out of the box for me! hehe

I spent the afternoon yesterday trying to take pictures and get them light enough.  It just kept getting darker and darker outside as the temperature kept dropping!  So there’s only one picture of the card with pink pastel metallic that was useable.

Here’s the gold with teal…

and they fit easily into an A2 size envelope

I love this teal one that I used the pieces from the waste of cutting layers A and B from the teal cuts.

for this one I used the poppystamps Modest Greetings 2 Hot Foil and cut die set for the Just For You and With  Love sentiments.

Do you have a favorite?  I think I do but then I change my mind! lol

Thank you for visiting today and hope there’s some inspiration here! I have so much I still want to make but I must start shopping and decorating too!  eek!

ttul!

Merry Christmas in July, Holly Wreath Card and Tutorial

Salutations of the season to all!  And just like that, it’s the end of July!  Let’s get a head start on Christmas cards!

My card today is from the NEW Birch Press Design Festive Floral release!

I’m using the NEW Holly Wreath Plate die set. Keep reading for a tutorial how I made the wreath without layering!  First the finished card pictures…

Close up showing the NEW Handwritten Merry Christmas and Outline die set… so beautiful! I love how he included the dot of the ‘i’ onto the ‘t’!  No gluing tiny dots this time!  (well except on the wreath hohoho)

A shot from the side…

Sentiment from Birch Press Design Kind Hearts clear stamp set. (gorgeous sentiments in this one)

Here’s how I made this card in pictures…hope it works!  Let me know what you think!  Was it worth it?

I started by die cutting Layer C in Hammermill 100# Color Copy Cover cardstock.  Keep both pieces.

Now, using Layer A (the plate with all the detail), lay the plain wreath you die cut with Layer C into layer A die, right side into the die.

Next we are going to emboss the plain wreath die cut by running it through the die cut machine. From the bottom up you’ll need the standard platform, clear cutting plate, tan (squishy) mat, die cut in the die with cutting blades facing into the mat and on top a clear cutting plate.

(If you have the older multi purpose platform, use it like you would a regular embossing folder. Fold the top layer back.)

Look how cool this is… it’s embossed!

Now we’re going to ink the wreath with Distress ink.  In my picture I grabbed regular Distress ink but when I was making my card, I used Distress Oxide Rustic Wilderness.  ugh.  My regular are out in plain view and my oxide are in a drawer now. Change is hard! lol  I used my oxide brush with regular ink.  There go my eyes rolling at myself again!

Back to layer C – die cut scraps of red cardstock for the berries.

Here you see the back of the inked, embossed wreath…I placed pieces of thin mounting tape over the berry holes.  Link below… I love this mounting tape!

Then turn the wreath over and using a pickup tool of your choice add the berries to the holes and they will stick in place!  Easy!

Ink scraps of white cardstock with Rustic Wilderness Distress ink, cut into pieces to lay over the holly leaves on layer A and run it through the machine.

Turn wreath back over and line it up to layer A to match up your Holly. Then turn it right side up and glue on the Holly.

Remember it’s opposite…

No earthly idea why in this picture the green is a funky color! lol

I wanted to show that the wreath is super fun just inking the solid wreath without embossing too.  At the last minute I thought to splatter it with some white spray ink.  I didn’t go back and splatter my card though.

So I’m showing three variations using these dies differently than they were intended!  Let’s make Christmas cardmaking fun! lol

Holler if you have any questions.  I have some old videos showing how to do embossing with dies too.
