Memory Box Plush Mitten dies…

Pam Sparks Plush Mitten Felt 2

A month ago or so, Cindy from SLS sent me this mitten cut from felt to stitch up!  I finally got around to it a couple weeks ago.  I have the Plush Frosty Mitten die now and more felt, so I wanted to make a ‘pair’!  Well, I have three pieces of three different reds and none of them are big enough to cut four mittens! So she began to cry! haha

But not for long… you’ll see my pair, a couple photos down but I cut and stitched it in cardstock just to show that it can be done!  : )  I’m on the scout for bigger pieces of felt now!

A close up of the snowflake… and yes it’s handmade… I just now saw, looking at this photo, the signature mistake that you’re supposed to see in anything handmade! Crying again. lol

and another….see those cute white pom poms?!  The holly die I used on this one is from poppystamps.

I took too many pictures of the felt one. lol  It’s so sweet and I love the blanket stitch!

ok – Here’s the pair that I cut and stitched in cardstock… it worked great, didn’t tear or anything.  I used Maraschino Bakers Twine from the Twinery to sew the blanket stitch on all the mittens and Peapod Bakers Twine from the Twinery to sew the holly leaves on the ‘pair’.  I used a needle from a pack that just said book binding needles.  Sorry I don’t have a size to tell you.

I had to google for a refresher course on adding on thread and going around corners… I really liked this site HERE.

The holly leaves on the mitten pair are from the Plush Holly Leaves and Berries die.

I made sure I started in the same place on each mitten so that I would have long tails to knot together so I can hang them as ornaments or easy use them to embellish a gift package.

Oh, to make a pair, you do have to use the back side of the mitten cut but because you are stitching around the edge, you can’t tell!

I used to hand sew all the time so this was fun!  I’m going to do up some more of the new Memory Box Plush dies!

Thanks for stopping by!  What are you making for Christmas?

Penny Black Brush Pines…

Pam Sparks PB Brush Pines

Penny Black stamps and dies put me in a festive mood! I had fun inking up this brush art style stamp…I used the MISTI for stamping…some watercolor markers and stamp pads.  Next time I need to try the Zig Clean Color Paint markers!  I didn’t think of that ’til now!

The sentiment is embossed in gold detail powder and is from the Believe Transparent stamp set.

In this next pictures you can really see the Tim Holtz Jingle Bell brad!  I LOVE these! I did poke holes in the watercolor paper first for the prongs.  I used Canson Montval 140# this time.

The snow is Stampendous Frantage Chunky Embossing Enamel.  Another reason why the heavy watercolor paper was better this time.  You lightly sprinkle on the chunks and heat from the underside.  Years ago we used to heat up an old electric frying pan and lay the card in it to heat UTEE.  That would be easier to keep the chunks in place for sure!  Be careful you don’t get too much… you can see I kinda did on the left pinecone.

A pretty stamped card…the bell brad might be a little too much for Uncle Sam’s mail machines though. ugh.

Oh the twine is one of Lawn Fawn’s, sparkle green.  love it!

I inked the edges with Broken China Distress ink and the ink blending tool.

Perfect for shaker party cards!  Then I used the Starry Night Cutting Plate cut in teal-ish glitter cardstock for the background, the Frame in a Frame Cutting Plate cut in metallic silver cardstock and one of the banners from Skinny Mini Party Borders cut in metallic gold cardstock. Sparkle and Shine!

PamSparksMixerThursday

Look at this cute NEW Little Bits Mixer die!  Darling!  The Recipe Card Pack is NEW also…the TE designers have been showing what they’ve made with the new kitchen stamps and dies all week. So cute!

I used the Tag Stacklets 2 dies, Tag Reinforcement dies, Special Delivery stamp set and tied the pack up with twine.

Next up…a super cute NEW set of Holiday Charms! I used the snowflake charm on this card.

PamSparksHolidayCharmSnowflake

I cut the three flakes in silver glitter foam and then added silver stickles glitter too!  Sometimes you just need more you know! lol

The vellum banner is cut with the NEW Stitched Banner Stacklets die set and I embossed a sentiment from last months new In and Out Christmas stamp set.

I hung the flakes on twine hidden behind the Peek A Boo Circle die panel.

The background is embossed with the Winter Flurry Embossing Folder.

Next up…two cards using the NEW Basketweave Cutting Plate die.

PamSparksBasketweaveThurs

Here I used it in a traditional way… just like you would think a basket should look!  The NEW Stitched Banner Stacklets again stamped with the Simply Stamped Pinecones stamp set and the Simply Stamped Pinecones Dies.

A little Frosted Lace Stickles on the pinecones and tied up with twine.

PamSparksBasketweaveCloseThurs

Here is a CAS use for the Basketweave Cutting Plate.  I die cut it in Red and Green cardstock.  Placed it on the diagonal and trimmed off the excess after I taped it to the back of the card.

PamSparksSantaHatParty

There’s another one of the NEW Holiday Charms.  A cute little Santa Hat cut in white and red cardstock. Trim the white and glue to the red and Frosted Lace Stickles just makes it more festive!

PamSparksDoorToDoorDecorWinterCloseThurs

The Merry Christmas sentiment is from the awesome New In and Out Christmas stamp set.  My weakness is sentiments…ok, maybe I have more than one weakness. lol

I used the Bead Board embossing folder to make the card front look like siding and embellished with the new Little Bits Snowflake Confetti dies.  I hope you’ll come in out of the cold!  : )

My next card is the moose image from the New Critters on Ice stamp set with matching dies…

PamSparksCrittersOnIce3

SO cute!  I love critters with personality!  So fun to color too! I die cut the pieces in white card-stock and colored them with Copic Sketch markers.

The frame is the New Picture Perfect Horizontal die… love it! Then the trees and lake are from two new Build a Scene die sets… Winter Trees and Central Park. Oh.what.fun!

PamSparksCrittersOnIce3Close

I used some Stampendous Frantage Chunky Enamel embossing powder on the lake… snow!  Ranger White Enamel Accents on the tree.

I tore a piece of copy paper and using the ink blending tool, sponged on Tumbled Glass Distress ink for the horizon line.

I LOVE this release! Everything is available in the Taylored Expressions online store today! hurray!
