Memory Box Magnolia Leaf Brand, Magnolia Bud Trio and Backyard Wren Mini Slimline Card…

This card says hello for me!  I had fun looking through the new paper pads and playing ‘matchy’! hahahaha  Almost felt like I was quilting again!

This release is stretching me!  I rarely use purple but not this time!  Purple it is!

This is such a sweet bird die… NEW….Backyard Wren.  So sweet and Memory Box just put a post up on Instagram showing it in all different colors!  So I decided I could use purple!  Why not!

I took pictures with a white background too but they look so washed out, I’m not posting them!  Crazy what a difference!

Cards always look better IRL even with all the awesome technology we have these days!

I die cut the Magnolia Leaf Branch, Magnolia Bud Trio and Backyard Wren in white Hammermill cardstock. I colored the branch and buds with Copic Sketch Markers and the wren with my distress oxide ink blending brushes.  I didn’t ink them just used the ink that was in them already.

I like coloring dies and cutting from colored cardstock.  I was thinking of the branch this time and knew I’d want the branch brown and leaves green.  It’d be really easy to do colored cardstock also…next time!

I used a new poppystamps die for the sentiment, Hello Moonlight Script.  What a fun name! What a beautiful font!  The white cardstock is Hammermill and the black is Memory Box Glossy Black. I love that cardstock so much.  I’m on my last sheet from the ten pack!

The pattern paper is the NEW 6×6 pads from Memory Box!   I’ll link them below with everything else.

Memory Box New Marvelous Magnolia 3D Embossing Folders Cards…

Hello in hot foil on watercolor paper today!

Two cards to share with the same coloring idea.  I used watercolor crayons.  Do you remember those?  Do you have some stashed away in a drawer or cupboard?  It was really easy to do, color it on then go over it with a wet paint brush.

I started out by embossing the folder on watercolor paper…this picture is Strathmore.  I ended up using Memory Box Watercolor paper for the card with the plaid background.  My second card is Hammermill color copy cover cardstock.

I had to do it over because after I was done painting, I put it back in the folder and ran it through again but I didn’t get it lined up right.

The second time I didn’t run it through again after painting!  Learned my lesson! haha

I used the NEW Magnolia Plaid paper for the background and a strip of paper from the New Magnolia Grove paper pad under the sentiment.

Lines of foiling run through this plaid paper so I used Gold Mirror/Foil Cardstock to mat the embossed panel.  I die cut out the center of it so I can use it for something else.

I wanted to carry over the gold into my sentiment so I used the Hello from poppystamps Birthday Wishes Poe Script foil and cut die set.

I used Memory Box watercolor cardstock for the embossed panel and the sentiment.  I really like how it colors and how easy it is to remove color if you get it where you don’t want it!

My next card is the same 3D embossing folder but lighter colors and on cardstock.

This folder comes with dies!  I embossed another panel of cardstock and die cut and embossed them but didn’t get a card made with them yet.

I did the same coloring with watercolor crayons.  I bet watercolor pencils would work too!

For this one I die cut the Memory Box Thank You Posh Script die in vellum and TE Cupcake Pink cardstock.

Very simple but I’m happy with both of them!  whew!  I can’t believe it’s already Thursday.  I’ve worked on these since Monday.  I guess I played too much! haha

Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Days Release…

Hello everyone! After Winter we’re thinking #Beautiful Days!  Bring ’em on!   Simon Says Stamp sent me this stamp set to play with and I’ve made two cards with it.  A super cute set, Garden Fresh!

Out came my Distress Reinkers and paint brushes to watercolor.  I stamped the images on Strathmore Best Watercolor paper with Ranger Black Archival Ink in the MISTI.

The first one I made is pretty rustic…I wasn’t sure it was post worthy but I was encouraged by cardmaker friends on Instagram to go for it!  So here it is!  A not so rustic one follows!

There’s something about watering cans that just draws me in.  I have a really old one I like to sit out for Summer porch decor.

I stamped and watercolored this regular like, then decided after I’d spattered to go over it with my Gathered Twigs mini blending tool!  All the while telling myself it was only a card! lol

It’s A2 size and I die cut the frame from Simon Says Stamp Frames die set, inked it with Gathered Twigs regular Distress ink and glued it on.

I added some think twine and a button and called it good.  The sentiment is from the set also.

Here’s my next card…not brown card! lol

Jars are so fun for flowers too!  The images in this set are so easy to color in!

The water looks dark in my pictures… I’m gonna have to go back and take some water and lighten it up!  Funny what you notice after you’ve taken photos and are writing a blog post!

I’m thinking this card could be used for any kind of shower and also for get well!  A very versatile set.

There’s one more floral image in the set that would be perfectly delightful stamped inside!  I love the birthday sentiment too!

Happy Saturday to you!  It’s looking like our weekend will be on the chill side so I might get some more cardmaking in!  A good day to shop the Beautiful Days NEW Release!

ttul!

Memory Box Magnolia Release and Video…

Hi everyone!  New beautiful dies and paper from Memory Box!  So pretty!  This release gives Hallmark a run for it’s money! lol

Beautiful Magnolia dies and embossing folders with dies too!

Keep scrolling for the video of the release at the end of the post.

So easy to create too… I die cut the Magnolia Blooming Bud die in white cardstock and blended on Distress Oxide ink with brushes.  I didn’t add any new purple to my brush but for the green I used Peeled Paint and a little Forest Moss.  The brown is Gathered Twigs.

I used the Posh Happy Birthday Hot Foil Plate and Cutting Die set for the sentiment.  I love how pretty it foils up!

For the rectangle panel I used the Rectangle Double Border Hot Foil Plate and A2 Rectangle Frames Die set.

The gold foiled green background is a piece of paper from the new Magnolia Grove 6×6 paper pad.  I die cut it with the largest A2 size die from the A2 Rectangle Frames Die set.’

I didn’t capture the shine that is so beautiful about hot foiling as well as I would’ve liked to.

Here’s a video of the new release and hopefully it will show the shine of the card better than my photos.  It will take a minute to load to full resolution completely so my voice isn’t so muffled.  Click the frame icon in the bottom right corner and it’s much better!

Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms and Memory Box Garland 6×6 Paper…

Hi everyone!  Remember my purple and kraft card a few weeks ago?  I made this at the same time.  I had made up a bunch of Be Bold Blooms flowers and was using them up.  I’m finally getting this card posted!

I know, it’s a little unusual but I like it!  I really like it in real life!  Come on over to see it! I wish! lol

I have several pictures…

This is paper from a Memory Box 6×6 paper pad that I’ve struggled to use but now maybe since I took up the challenge I’ll keep going and get it used!   It kinda reminds me of my quilting days.  The gals in the quilters guild told me I was too ‘matchy’! lol  My cardmaking journey has been trying to loosen up and not be so matchy but not sure it’s working! haha

I like matchy!  So I’m ok with it but I do try to be a little more out there sometimes!  Why the revelation you ask?  Who knows! lol

I used Bazzil Cardshoppe cardstock for the flowers…

Taylored Expressions Strip stamps and die for the sentiment.  Is this too bright for a sympathy card?

I can change it to a birthday card if you all vote that it is!

That’s the end of my photos so I’ll stop talking now! haha

Spellbinders April 3D Embossing Folder Club…

Hi everyone! I kept this card clean and simple… A7 size. Embossing Folder FUN! ❤

Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide swiped directly on the smooth side of the NEW April 3D Embossing Folder.  I love it!  So many different ways to ‘do it up’!

It’s really a greener green in real life.

I used the Best Wishes sentiment from the April Large Die of the Month Club set.

‘From All Of Us’ is from the Essential Glimmer Sentiments Hot Foil Plates set.  A neat variety of sentiments!

One thing I tried but didn’t finish was, after I did this same first step, I took another color oxide ink pad and swiped it over the top/raised areas and it worked great too!  Lots of ideas out there!  People are so creative!
