Memory Box Plush Heart Pocket in wool felt…

Pam Sparks Plush Heart Pocket White felt

I just couldn’t resist hanging this on a vase of winterish branches. One of my favorite things about Winter is the holly and the ivy!  : )  And that includes pine! lol

For this Memory Box Plush Heart Pocket I used Taylored Expressions wool felt again… love this felt and her gorgeous color choices.

Backstitching again (by hand)…I layered up the hearts and leaves for fun…not a fancy heart pocket but it’s classy lookin’ and works for Valentines and Christmas! Gotta love that! A cute pocket for a little note or gift card too!

I glued the heart and leaves on with Tombow mono multi glue (green lids).

Hand stitching in felt and card-stock is so easy when the die cuts the holes. Almost feels like cheating but I love it! lol

Memory Box Plush Heart Pocket…

Pam Sparks Plush Heart Pocket Cardstock 2

Hi everyone! What did I do on a cold Winter’s day?  Stitch of course! I’m using the NEW Memory Box Plush Heart Pocket die today with card-stock and felt but I’m going to post the felt pocket tomorrow. I love how easy they are to stitch when the holes are already perfectly placed!  happy happy!

This one is die cut in cardstock and backstitched.  No stuffing inside.  Before I stitched them together though, I die cut the Memory Box Clementine Heart in one of the plush hearts. I was lucky and all the pieces stayed on the cutting plate and not in the die! yippee! lol  So I held it tight to the cutting plate, turned it over and slid it off so I could scotch tape the back.  Then I was able to remove the light pink frame leaving the inside pink pieces stuck to the tape. Then I die cut the Clementine heart again in mint green and pieced the frame back in. Fortunately the scotch tape releases what you want it to because I don’t press it down real hard until I’m done.

I die cut the small heart button that comes with the Plush Heart Pocket die set three times, glued them together, thread through the holes and knotted.

Here’s the back side…

Pam Sparks Plush Heart Pocket Cardstock Back

I put the pocket die cut piece on the back. I cut a smallish card to put in the pocket, similar to a gift card size.  Perfect for the times you want a special gift card holder!

I stamped the image and sentiment from the NEW Memory Box Springtime Bunnies set, with mint Colorbox pigment ink.

The bow is where my thread ends met from stitching. Triple cut and glued together the heart button again, in the mint color cardstock.

Fortunately the sun was out today and helped warm the house up… eek… waking up to zero degree weather…let’s just say, I didn’t have any trouble staying inside today!

Thanks for stopping by!  Holler if you have any questions!

poppystamps Sylvan Frame, Susanna Blossom and WINNERS!

Pam Sparks Sylvan Susanna

Hi everyone! Here I am with inky fingers, posting a card and the two winners of the NEW Memory Box Stitched Oval Layers Die sets!  YAY!

I used some Hobby Lobby watercolor paper, Distress inks, Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers.  Brushed on some water, brushed on some color, dried with the heat tool but…don’t try to pick off any black marks!  That’s what happened in the bottom right dark violet area. Silly me, just leave it alone! When you try to remove, it makes it white!  So then, you add more color and the paper pills up, so then, you have a mess and end up darker and remembering again why you should just leave well enough alone!!!  Will I ever learn?! Rolling my eyes at myself!  : )

I decided to post it anyway…running out of daylight (for photos) so no starting over and I wanted to post the winners!

I spritzed some pearl spray into the drops of Distress ink refills but it’s hard to see it in the pictures. boo.  It’s really a nice touch though.  The green leaves are Twisted Citron Distress ink.  There was a time in my life when I would’ve never put these colors together! WOW!  I’ve changed! lol

Die cut the Susanna Blossom, emboss it, leave it in the die, flip it over and ink it with Wilted Violet Distress ink and the ink blending tool. I spritzed it a little with the pearl spray too but be careful cuz it moves easy!  You don’t want too much. (I had to do it twice) lol

The ‘happy spring’ sentiment is from the Springtime Bunnies stamp set. There is also a ‘thinking of you’ in the set and it would work nicely also.  I’ll link you up to everything below.

SO…..DRUMROLL or Cymbals…you pick… haha

THE WINNERS ARE… #38 Linda Pearce and #42 AnnieC!  Congratulations gals! I will email you. I’ll need your snail mail address.  Happy die cutting to you!

Thanks so much everyone for commenting and following my blog! I love coming here and showing you what I’ve been up to!  If you could see my email inbox, you’d know I love seeing what you all are up to too! lol

Have a great rest of the week and weekend!  ttul!

MFT Card Challenge and Winter Warmth Cards…

Pam Sparks MFT Challenge Hello Winter Warmth Flowers

Happy Hello to January 11th already! I wanted to play in the My Favorite Things Card Challenge this week…Sketch 262.

262

These fun flowers are from the Winter Warmth stamp and die set.  The Hello dies is from the Smart Phone die set.

Here’s a picture with a black background.  I couldn’t decide between the two! lol

Pam Sparks MFT Challenge Hello Winter Warmth Black

I stamped the flower die cuts with Colorbox Chalk inks in Pink Pastel, Rouge and Lime Pastel using the MISTI so I could stamp multiple times for solid coverage.  Love that!

Then I had to play with this stamp and die set some more and use the mittens and mug.

Pam Sparks MFT Mitten Mug Knit

These colors…so fun together! Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress inks.

Going to link my mittens card to the Card Concept photo inspiration challenge. I was inspired by the mittens and the mug… and I would add it to the Clean and Layered category.

One more…

Pam Sparks MFT Mitten Mug postal

I masked the postal die cut and inked with Distress Inks…Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint and Anitque Linen.  I know, weird combo. lol

A TIP for you…the more layers of colors you ink on the more reactive the ink is with water!  See how the blue shows through the green?!  Love that!

I used Distress markers for the lines on the mittens and snowflakes on the mug. White gel pen for the little dots and Dylusions White spray ink for the other dots. I used one of those Fantastix sticks for those.

The Stitched Oval is from the New Memory Box Stitched Ovals Layers die set.

EEK!  I better get this published before the challenge ends!  I will be back with the two winners of the giveaway in a day or two!  Thanks for commenting!

I cut strips of Lemon Meringue cardstock with the paper cutter, then cut them into short pieces and glued them to the scene for straw.

The sky and the Cookie Monster card base are inked with Broken China, the ground, the frame and watermelon cardstock layer with Gathered Twigs Distress Inks.

Forest Friends Stamp and Die combo is another set that makes up so cute!  Making scenes has never been easier!  Gotta love that!  I do! lol

Pam Sparks Forest Friends

I combined this new set with the Shaded Tree Cutting Plate Die. Die cut it in Toffee cardstock, then color with Copic Sketch Markers – E34, 35, 37 and G07.

I stamped the deer on Toffee cardstock, die cut him and colored with the same E Copic markers.  A little white gel pen on his spots and eye.

Happy Birthday and the woodpecker are from the set also.  I stamped on woodgrain tape and die cut with the Banner Stacklets Die set.

Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans Distress Inks sponged on for the sky on watercolor paper.

Pam Sparks Lets Talk 2 Flower Power

THANKS everyone! Another new die this month! Let’s Talk Edger 2 and then a new embossing folder, Flower Power.

A very simple card but I liked it!  : )  The THANKS die is a freebie die I received from TE with one of my orders.  Don’t you love that you always get a free die when you order?! I colored it with Copic Sketch Markers again!  We do like to color any chance we get! lol
