October 2012 Papertrey Blog Hop…

This is my first time to participate in one of the Papertrey Ink blog hops!  I LOVE the color combos they challenged everyone with.. I hope to use some of the other combos too!

I used this one… I found the colors in card-stock and then it hit me… these are the colors of one of the Basic Grey Christmas collections from a few years ago!  I knew I had some pieces and scraps, so I dug them out and started working.   The colors matched perfectly! yea!

I used PTI Sweet Blush and Dark Chocolate card-stocks.  The Ripe Olive was a little dark, so I used a tad bit lighter green card-stock for the leaves.

The poinsettia is the PTI Year of the Flower Poinsettia set and die set.
The sentiment is from the Think Big Favorites #20 Mini Stamp Set .
I used the Tag Sale #5 Die for the ‘tails’ under the poinsettia.
I colored a bit on the poinsettias… I used RV21… I know… sounds too pink but it was better than the R11, 20 or 21..they made it too peach.

I don’t own any PTI stamp inks but the Colorbox Rose Coral and Olive Pastel Chalk inks matched great, so that’s what I stamped the poinsettias with.  The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Thanks for stopping by… click on the PTI links above to go the inlinkz list of other blog hop participants!

I know…two poinsettia cards this week! hehe  and I used this one week before last I think and colored it… so pretty… love poinsettias!  So I’ll cool it on poinsettias for awhile! lol

CAS Merry Christmas…

Our stamp club has a card swap each month at our meeting… the second Friday of the month at 1 p.m. if you ever want to come!   Links below to the products I used.  This is the card I made to swap. Papertrey Ink Poinsettia year of the flower and die.  I used the small one out of the set, inked it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamped on PTI white select card-stock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers.  The sentiment is from the same set…inked with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Happy Day… this card made the CAS Favorites over at Splitcoast Stampers today… always an honor.  SCS is a great place to play!  Click on the logo to see the thread and other favorite CAS creations.  Thank you SCS!

I love the look of the Cuttlebug Herringbone Embossing folder…have you noticed how often the folders are being used again?!  Love that… I own so many and rarely use them… always need inspiration to use the stash!

I used my Perfect Paper Layers tools to mat the sentiment strip… they work so slick… can’t make a card without them anymore!  I use an omnigrid ruler for placement on the fold, then I can use the layers tools to cut the other three sides.  Would that be a good video for me to make???

Juliene had the program this month and here’s a photo of the card she had us make…Stampin Up stamps and supplies.

and here’s a photo Juliene took… this is the window in the room we use at the Public Library here… so glad she snapped it and shared! Friday was a lovely day!

I’m almost done! hohoho

I wanted to tell you that the Scrapping Center has 20 % off all new arrivals!  Click on this Tilda to go see and shop!  Lots of new stuff!

Thanks for stopping to see what I’ve been up to!  I love hearing from you and appreciate all your comments and love to chat.  Email me if I’ve forgotten something!

An ATC and two tags…

Merry Christmas to all!  Every year I’m more amazed at how fast time goes by!  ssssshhhh I don’t want to admit it’s because I’m older and just slower! pout!

Here’s an ATC (artist trading card) I just made for a “four for four” mail swap…had fun with the  In the Meadow stamps and dies from PTI (Papertrey Ink).  The Winter Town stamp is from Hero Arts.  I used Distress stains to ink up the stamp… can’t remember which two now…ugh!   Frosted Lace stickles for the glitter.

For stamping and die cutting the sledder, here’s what I did… I die cut the sledder,  tacked it down with a little tape to my craft mat.  Used the stamp a ma jig to stamp the image on the die cut.  I tried stamping it first and then cutting but I just couldn’t get it lined up good enough to suit me that way.  The partial silhouette of the snowman is an older Stampin Up punch. The sentiment is from PTI also.

A couple gift tags…

This was for our oldest daughter, Heather.  Her birthday is Christmas Day.  The nurses had sewn up flannel stockings for the Christmas Day babies…I have photos of her as a baby in that stocking.  When this Tilda image came out,  I had to have it!  Tilda is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  Hair E30, 15, 08. 17 and 18 or 19,  can’t remember at the moment.  Skin E000, 00, 21 and cheeks diluted R20.  Green BG93, 96, Red W3, R35, 37, 39 and 59.  Fluff E40,41, 42, 43 and a white gel pen.

I stamped this Hero Arts typewriter on kraft card-stock and on natural card-stock too.  I cut out the natural and adhered it to the typewriter after I stamped the message on it with the stamp a ma jig.  The two holly leaves are an EK Success punch and the bow is an old quickutz die.

I could go on creating for Christmas for months and still have new stuff to use!  Crazy!  My favorite time of year!  What a mess I have in my stamp room! EEK!  oh well,  I’m resting up today and enjoying the Christmas tree a little bit longer!

Here’s what 1800 lights on a 9 foot Christmas tree look like at night and it didn’t tip over once this year!  yea! lol  (my photo skills don’t do it justice!)

Merry Christmas and God bless you!  I appreciate your friendship and support through this blog!
