poppystamps Nordic Happy Snowman Card…

Hi everyone!  I know most of us love snowman!  It seems like this cutie should have a name, oh it does!  Happy!

I saw a card made with this sketch and thought it’d work so well with the new Memory Box 6×6 paper pads, Yuletide Cheer and Yuletide Plaid!  I love these pads!  Good thing! lol  24 double sided papers, 12 designs, 2 of each.

I started by die cutting, coloring with Copics and piecing  ‘Happy’ together.  Do you have the R07 Copic marker?  It is one of my favorite reds ever!  If you remember the Basic Gray paper line for Christmas, E07 matched it perfectly!

I also colored the background for Let it Snow with E07 also.

I diecut the Memory Box Nested Globe die in white and the Nested Globe Bases die in white and colored the base with E07 and E09.

The plaid paper is cut 4 in. x 5 ¼ in. and the banner is 2 ¼ x 5 ½ in.  I cut the fishtail end with a scissors. Then I wrapped gold thread around it and tied a box before I glued it to the plaid panel.

That’s about it!  I used my favorite thin mounting foam tape to adhere ‘Happy’ to the globe.

The green Copics I used are G24 and YG99.

I almost wished for snow this week! It was so muggy and hot here in Iowa.  Next week looks more like Fall temperatures.  whew.  So thankful for air conditioning!  I’ve been riding my bike more but these temps put a halt to that.  Maybe this coming week and I can get back to it.

Thank you for stopping by!  I love hearing from you and appreciate your encouraging words!  I still haven’t counted how many Christmas cards I have made.  One of these days I’m gonna say post in the comments how many you have! lol  I think it’d be fun to see and we can encourage each other!  I have birthday cards to throw in the mix this week.  How’d it get to be Sept. 21st anyway! Crazy!  ttul!

poppystamps Nordic Wintertide Stockings Merry Christmas Card…

Hi everyone!  Have you counted your Christmas card stash yet?  I haven’t!  I haven’t kept up very well with my policy of finishing the insides either!  I will be sorry yet again this year! lol

A very easy die cut card A2 size today.  I cut this NEW poppy Nordic Wintertide Border Set three times for the wider border and three times for the narrow border.  Next time I will just space them better so I don’t have the piece I had to trim at the top.

Believe it or not these dies cut very well!  I die cut with the blades up, and angle the die into the machine.  Try it!  It works!

I pieced together the NEW poppy Nordic Stockings and Merry Christmas Moonlight Script dies…very straight forward/easy!

I used the NEW Memory Box red cardstock!!!  OH wow!  This cardstock is beautiful!  Dave sent several colors and I can’t wait to use them!  8.5 x 11 size!!!  yahoo!

Here’s a video showing the colors!

I die cut a vellum circle to put behind the sentiment and stockings, it just needed it!

Linking to some card challenges…

A Cut Above – anything goes with a die cut

The Paper Shelter #609 – punches and/or dies

ABC Christmas – S and T, T for traditional colors

Sparkles Christmas – sentiment as the focus

There you have it!  A festive, easy card and I didn’t even have to fill the stockings!  Although I think they’d be super cute with stuff in them, I just couldn’t land on anything.  I tried adding poinsettias but nope, didn’t suit my eye!

Off to work on some more Christmas cheer! Thank you so much for stopping by!

poppystamps Whittle Tropical Gator Kit Card…

Surprise!  Now I’m wishing I’d thought to make the bow and hoop red! lol  Happy Fourth of July friends and cardmakers!

Such cute critters from poppystamps and everything you need to make this card or another version in the kit!

Personality indeed!  They’re having a Summer good time!

I colored the die cuts with Copic Sketch Markers after I die cut them in Hammermill Color Copy 100# cardstock.

Branches – YG17, YG 67 and G99

Tree Trunks – E43, E44 and E47

Splash – B000, B00, B01 and B02

Bow and hoop – RV02 and inked a little bit with my dirty pink oxide ink blending brush

Tie – B05 and BG09

Umbrella – N2, 3, 4, 5

Gators – YG21, YG23 and inked a little bit with my dirty green oxide ink blending brush

I kept it clean and simple by just mounting the colored die cuts onto an A2 size Neenah Solar White 110# cardbase that I inked with a little bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.

Small pieces of the thin mounting tape behind the pieces and placed similar to the picture on the envelope of the kit packaging.

So cute and easy to do!  Aren’t the teeth fun?! lol

Have a beautiful holiday rest of the week and enjoy the fireworks if you can stay up late enough! haha!

poppystamps Whittle Racing Giraffe Kit Card…

Just to make you smile! A super cute new kit from poppystamps!  Whittle Racing Giraffe!  I didn’t use the race car yet but I think it’d be so cute for a new driver or one that just got their drivers license!

I went with one I could use for a graduate or anyone on their way up the ladder! There are several sentiments included in this cute kit!  All so fun!

I die cut, colored and inked the cuts.  So easy with the lines that impress when you cut guiding you where to color!

Then I chose some pattern papers from the Memory Box Anemone Grove 6×6 paper pad, one for the sky and one for the grass, tore the edge on the grass…. paper piecing the background so to speak! lol

I like it!  the little flowers in the green piece make me think of dandelions or clover!

This is a mini slimline size card. 3 ⅛ in.  6 in.

Wow!  What a busy Spring it’s been! Are you finding that too?

Events with Grandchildren that we love doing.  A wedding!  Last weekend our oldest grandson was in a bike race in Burlington, IA!  That was mind blowing! I cannot believe how fast they can ride those bikes!  One of my sisters passed away last Thursday.  Sad.  I’m 7th of 8 children so three have passed now.   So instead of weddings being the cause of family reunions, now it’s funerals. Not near as fun!

We’re enjoying being outside more for sure! Hope all is well for you and you’re keeping up with cardmaking! hoho!

take care and links below if you want a cute set to make with!
