Birthday fun with a step card again…for some reason, I just kinda drift toward this fold! See that cute little kitty? They have a black outdoor kitty at their house… so cute just sitting there watching for Henry and the other kids!

Grandchildren… so precious. I still remember the day we met Henry. He was two and from Ukraine. You know I rarely post family things because that would be a blog in itself! Six years ago Henry was the first of four to be adopted internationally into our family. Oh, the excitement of waiting for them to get to the waiting area of the airport! He had to be scared! So many people waiting to welcome him to his forever home!

Precious memories. I’ll post one picture that I love so much… Henry meeting Grandpa Tim and granddaughter Attie in the background. Henry hugged Tim for 5 minutes… he already sensed that he was getting an awesome grampy! : )

Time moves on and he’s 8 already! Since then, Anya came from Ukraine, two more from Bulgaria and then you know the story….pregnant and Cedryk was born. He just turned 2 and he loves tractors and Curious George!

So I had to use an image with a little blonde boy on a tractor!

I used Mimo on a Tractor from Bildmalarna, HERE and colored with Promarkers and Copics. The number 2 is from an old Quickutz die set. My Perfect Layers Mini rulers and Mat to cut the ‘perfect’ black border around the image… links below and in the sidebar.

On Henry’s card, the It’s Your Day sentiment is from an old set by Hero Arts and the sun is a medium EK Success punch. I die cut the trees in green and in brown. I clipped off the leaves on the brown one and glued the brown over the green then… like I did this tree in this video…

Oh WOW! Have you seen the new Memory Box dies? Here’s a short video from BlueMoon Scrapbooking…at the end, you’ll see tons more and a new longer size too! Yikes… I can see it’s going to be hard to “be good” this year! HERE they are in the store. Can’t wait to get to using some of them. I have four of the new ones so far (I had to have the pine needle border) but I’m sure I will be tempted to get more! ; ) Free ship @ $50 for US 48 states and special International rates too! Here’s a snowman card I made for the Snowman swap at stamp club last Friday….inspired by different ones I’ve seen online… so cute sharing hearts!

I used a snowman Sizzix die that is discontinued… I found him on ebay last year…good luck ‘hunting’ him down! The name on the die is just ‘Snowman’ and the item # is 656299.

The music is a Penny Black stamp HERE. I stamped it twice.. masked the bottom and stamped the head, then stamped again on his body. Old Hyglo heart punch and Quickutz mini Studio alphabet for the X and O. Buttons from Lasting Impressions for paper and pattern paper is old Basic Grey Blush I think. Button on the scarf is from My Favorite Things Die-namics Button die HERE. Hemp is from the Scrapping Center HERE. Love this stuff, it’s just the right weight… comes in other colors too. : )

I’m working on catching up with emails and comments! I’m coming to visit you soon! Today is Tim’s birthday and I need to make a card for the Don and Daisy blog tomorrow and then hopefully it’ll slow down and I can catch up again! woohoo! I should be making Tim a card… ugh. oops. I have some steak for supper! hehe

Leaping Reindeer…

I saw Shelly’s pop up leaping reindeer card HERE and wanted to try… I didn’t succeed with the swivel yet but went ahead and finished the card just as a pop up inside. I like it anyway…funny thing is…when I started it Monday, I thought I would make six! hahahahaha, joke was on me… just because my prototype worked! lol

It was fun to try and check out her post for today… so cool!

I used some older Basic Grey paper and Tim Holtz dies HERE. I used a Sizzix tree die but after, I thought the Tim Holtz tree sure would’ve been cool! The pine branch on the front is from Impression Obsession. I swiped some Delicata gold ink on the branches… oh, the scene has Gingerbread Glimmer mist on it also…hard to see. Perfect Paper Layers tools to mat the front…link in the sidebar…

The gold berries on the front are from Marianne Design. The stamp I used for the winter scene on the front is from Penny Black, it’s called Heaven and Earth and you’ll find it HERE and 20% off too!

Guest for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge…

It’s sooooo fun to play in challenges here and there… awhile back I won a guest designer position on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenges blog with my Hay Rides Kiddos card!!! YEA! You can see it HERE. Love Karen’s sketches!

I had to mirror image the sketch so the Penny Black Mimi image would fit between the houses in the October Afternoon pattern paper from a few years ago. I will always love this house paper! I’ll be so sad when the last piece is used up… it’s timeless! The dot and the poinsettia are from the same collection.

The sentiment stamp I used is from a clear set by PaperTrey Ink, called Stylish Sentiments: Holiday. It was new last year I think. I stamped it with Colorbox Dark Brown Chalk ink.

Mimi is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers. I used W3 under the reds, R24, E07 and R59. Her coat started out with BG10…had to add other BG colors and then use some W1 gray to get it to match the paper. I edged the papers with Antique Linen Distress ink and the Ink Blending tool. I used my Perfect Layers Tools for Perfect mats… love, love the 1/16th inch ruler! For this card I used 1/16th and 3/16ths.

Mimi and Friend for Sweet Stamping Pixies Challenge…

SSPC #5 – Color challenge… use blue, tan and yellow with your pixie/sprite/fairy stamp! I used Mimi and Friend from Penny Black, colored with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. Memory Box Honeyblossom die and AmyR Stamps Oh So Beachy Sentiment set. October Afternoon pattern paper and a SU stamp to go around the edge of the image. I think the name of the set is Tiny tags. I went with kraft for the “tan” in the color scheme. Layers are all cut with the Perfect Layers Tools… even the card base. I scored and folded an 8.5 x 11 piece of kraft card-stock in half…then I held my ruler on the fold at 1/4 in. and placed the image rectangle right up to it, stuck it down… then used the 1/4 in. Perfect Layers Tool to cut the sides and bottom at 1/4 in. for perfect spacing! love these tools!
