Memorial Day…reflect…be thankful…

I don’t know about you but it’s rare I sit and look back.  So many memories and yes I’m thankful! Yesterday we went to a Civil War Reenactment that our grandson participated in.  History brought to life. So many things going through my mind now.

On the fun side though, they started the afternoon with a fashion show.  They showed and talked about the ‘ins and outs’ of dressing in that era. The hoop skirts…what a contrast to the skin tight jeans of today. eek!  Glad I can be in the middle and be comfortable!

oh cards… yes, I have two to share today! lol  Both are from the May Release at Taylored Expressions.

I die cut the new Starry Night Cutting plate in kraft card-stock and layered it to a navy, top folded A-2 size card base.

I embossed the new Brick embossing folder in red card-stock and then ran it through the Big Shot to die cut it with the new Build a Tag 4 die set.  Stitched edges… love!  It smashed the brick a little but I had inked one side of the folder with fired brick distress ink so I kinda like how it turned out!

I die cut the bell in gray from the new Patriotic treat toppers die set. Layered it on navy card-stock and mounted it to the tag with thin 3L mounting squares.

I stamped along the bottom of the tag with the word celebrate stamp from a TE Christmas set, A Winter View.

I glued on Studio Calico wood stars for embellishing and Lawn Fawn twine and hemp to finish off the tag.

Doodlebug Washi tape for the rainbow tea party and birthday party CAS cards I made… so fun… I know, it’s looks like I spent 10 minutes but actually I messed around for a few hours to get to these two cards! lol

Here I used the new Block Party die and Eventful Birthday Party die.  I put washi on a piece of white card and die cut it for the background behind the gifts.   I love how it turned out!

This one I used just a part of the new Eventful Tea Party Border die.  Glad I don’t have to pick a favorite!  love them all!

Birthday fun with a step card again…for some reason, I just kinda drift toward this fold!  See that cute little kitty?  They have a black outdoor kitty at their house… so cute just sitting there watching for Henry and the other kids!

Grandchildren… so precious.  I still remember the day we met Henry.  He was two and from Ukraine.  You know I rarely post family things because that would be a blog in itself!  Six years ago Henry was the first of four to be adopted internationally into our family.  Oh, the excitement of waiting for them to get to the waiting area of the airport!  He had to be scared!  So many people waiting to welcome him to his forever home!

Precious memories.  I’ll post one picture that I love so much… Henry meeting Grandpa Tim and granddaughter Attie in the background.  Henry hugged Tim for 5 minutes… he already sensed that he was getting an awesome grampy!  : )

Time moves on and he’s 8 already! Since then,  Anya came from Ukraine,  two more from Bulgaria and then you know the story….pregnant and Cedryk was born.  He just turned 2 and he loves tractors and Curious George!

So I had to use an image with a little blonde boy on a tractor!

I used Mimo on a Tractor from Bildmalarna, HERE and  colored with Promarkers and Copics. The number 2 is from an old Quickutz die set.  My Perfect Layers Mini rulers and Mat to cut the ‘perfect’ black border around the image… links below and in the sidebar.

On Henry’s card, the It’s Your Day sentiment is from an old set by Hero Arts and the sun is a medium EK Success punch.  I die cut the trees in green and in brown.  I clipped off the leaves on the brown one and glued the brown over the green then… like I did this tree in this video…

I love this song…really makes me think…hard to imagine being Mary and Joseph and all they went through!  Even harder to imagine or want to imagine all that Jesus went through for us!  So thankful for Christ in Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!  We had a wonderful time with family yesterday…making memories!  It went by too fast though and I didn’t take enough pictures!  : )

Great NEWS!!!  New grandson born last night at 7:20 p.m.!!!  Gilbert Benson Pierce, 8 # 4 oz… Heather and Ben give their boys two middle names… I love it!   He’s a red head…gonna be a great cousin to our red head grandson Cedryk who was born in July.   I’m just a beaming grammy this a.m.!

We have 5 red head grandsons now, 1 really blonde grandson and 2 with brown hair!  We have 2 red heads, 3 blondes and 1 brown in the granddaughters.  Amazing… God has blessed us richly!  Love them all!

Thanks for sharing our joy… I’ll be back with a card!  ttul!
