Monkey Zoo celebrates!

Are you smiling? This little monkey is new for CC Designs January release and called Monkey Zoo. Comes with it’s own birthday sentiment too! I was washing up a few pans, thinking…wanting something fun to create with this cutie and thought circus tent! Well, sure enough, googled and found this card HERE. So cute and easy to piece together too!

I printed Heidi’s pattern and then held it behind my pattern paper by my desk light so I could see through it to cut it out. To make the card I used a piece of card-stock scored at folded at 4 1/4 in. wide. I held the tent base piece on top of the folded card and cut on the tent pattern sides. Adhered it to the tent top. I used a toothpick on the top to hold the flag and bead. On the back I cut a piece of card-stock the same color as the folded card and glued it over the top so that the back side is all covered and the same color. Cute! Easy too.

When I was in grade school…one of the gals in our class had a pet monkey! Crazy….I’m not much of an animal lover, so of course I didn’t hold it! eek! lol They are entertaining in the zoo, that’s for sure!

Happy Birthday…

This new CC Designs Swiss Pixies Lucy can stand alone because she is the cutest thing ever!

Well, here’s the whole card…

Our granddaughter Lilli turns 7 on the 8th. Yep, you guessed it, she’s a red-head! This card is for you Lilli! Happy Birthday! AND, she loves pink! She loves to color with copics too… for Christmas I gave her the markers to color red hair, cuz she loves to color her color hair! hehe Today I used E97, E08 and E19 for her hair. Her skin is E000, 00, 21, cheeks are R20, 21, 22…micro amounts! lol All the pink is R81, 83 and 85.

I used Party Time Lucy, Party Time Logos and the Candle border die.

Here’s a side view…

I hope you can see that I used two different pattern papers for the candle border die. I cut the candle border out of each one…kept the back piece with the flame and attached the second piece to the top after I cut the flames off… very easy! You probably can’t really see this, but I embossed lines with the small end of a stylus between the candles to give definition and dimension.

Sweet November Winter Kids Zach…

All That Scraps Tuesday review today… CC Designs Sweet November Winter Kids line is featured today on the ATS blog HERE. I needed one more Christmas card for a nephew last night… Zach was perfect for a young man! I tried coloring his headband or what is that called? camouflage. lol The piece of pattern paper is from October Afternoon’s 8×8 campfire pad. The holly punch is from The Punch Bunch and I punched it in two colors and layered the lighter over the darker. I had to edge the papers with Walnut stain Distress ink and my ink blending tool. AmyR stamps Snowman Sayings for the Coolest Holiday Greetings sentiment. Zach is “cool”!

An ATC and two tags…

Merry Christmas to all! Every year I’m more amazed at how fast time goes by! ssssshhhh I don’t want to admit it’s because I’m older and just slower! pout!

Here’s an ATC (artist trading card) I just made for a “four for four” mail swap…had fun with the In the Meadow stamps and dies from PTI (Papertrey Ink). The Winter Town stamp is from Hero Arts. I used Distress stains to ink up the stamp… can’t remember which two now…ugh! Frosted Lace stickles for the glitter.

For stamping and die cutting the sledder, here’s what I did… I die cut the sledder, tacked it down with a little tape to my craft mat. Used the stamp a ma jig to stamp the image on the die cut. I tried stamping it first and then cutting but I just couldn’t get it lined up good enough to suit me that way. The partial silhouette of the snowman is an older Stampin Up punch. The sentiment is from PTI also.

A couple gift tags…

This was for our oldest daughter, Heather. Her birthday is Christmas Day. The nurses had sewn up flannel stockings for the Christmas Day babies…I have photos of her as a baby in that stocking. When this Tilda image came out, I had to have it! Tilda is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Hair E30, 15, 08. 17 and 18 or 19, can’t remember at the moment. Skin E000, 00, 21 and cheeks diluted R20. Green BG93, 96, Red W3, R35, 37, 39 and 59. Fluff E40,41, 42, 43 and a white gel pen.

I stamped this Hero Arts typewriter on kraft card-stock and on natural card-stock too. I cut out the natural and adhered it to the typewriter after I stamped the message on it with the stamp a ma jig. The two holly leaves are an EK Success punch and the bow is an old quickutz die.

I could go on creating for Christmas for months and still have new stuff to use! Crazy! My favorite time of year! What a mess I have in my stamp room! EEK! oh well, I’m resting up today and enjoying the Christmas tree a little bit longer!

Here’s what 1800 lights on a 9 foot Christmas tree look like at night and it didn’t tip over once this year! yea! lol (my photo skills don’t do it justice!)
