Hey everyone! I didn’t think I could do this alcohol thing! At stamp club Friday, Linda from club did a demo and we played. This morning I did this by myself! The ink really spreads on yupo though…I wanted to try little dots of ink…hmmmm… lol Big dots worked though! lol Butterscotch, Red Pepper, Lettuce and Oregano are the colors I used. Then a little gold foil. I just gambled on getting the foil on there. If any of you know a video you can point me too on getting the foil on there… email it to me.

This is about as artsy as I get! lol

I had the die cut white to begin with, then a friend told me to put gold foil around the flame and I was like, “no way” am I going to get glue near that! lol So I die cut the Pine Candle Oval Frame die in gold foil cardstock then and glued it over the white ones. There are two white ones in the stack because I got a smudge on the first one so I had to cut another and glue it on. lol Oh the trials! haha

This next one is a Distress Oxide background…

A lot of pictures today! This one, I die cut an oval with the Sudio Oval Layers die set… it matches the size of the Pine Candle Oval Frame die. Using the mini Ink Blending tools, I inked on the NEW Distress Oxide Ink pad colors, starting at the top with Mustard Seed, then Barn Door (I brought it up and around the Mustard Seed a little, then came back in with Mustard Seed, back and forth a little to get them blended) then Mowed Lawn and Crushed Olive on the buttom! I was really happy with how the colors blended and worked with this die cut!

I stamped peace on earth on a strip of white cardstock that I inked with Barn Door Oxide and let dry. Then stamped on it with Archival black ink in the MISTI.

A few little sequins to finish it off… oh wait, I did spatter it with Barn Door regular Distress ink. I just swiped a little ink from the pad onto my Tonic craft mat, one spritz of water and a #4 soft paintbrush to spatter it. TIP: I don’t know about you but spattering seems like an art to me too!!! grrr BUT I think I’m finally on to something with this #4 soft bristle paintbrush! It works the best of any I’ve tried so far and I’ve tried a lot! SO don’t give up! Find a brush that does what you want it to do. I’m convinced it’s all about the brush!

The white spatters are a spray… I’ll link to it below. I just poured a little on my craft mat and picked it up with that wonder paintbrush (hehe) and spattered it on. I probably should’ve heat set my oxide inks first. I wonder if the white would’ve stayed whiter? SO, the saga continues as to what is what!

p.s. my paintbrush is a #4 US Artquest paintbrush. I love my US Artquest brushes. I will look and see if I can find them to link to. (EDA – found them, link below! I love the other brushes in the set too!)

3 Memory Box Wrapped Holly Circle Frame Cards With NEW Holiday Dies!

Hi everyone! I couldn’t decide what card to post first! So I went with the ‘glam’! lol

Here’s the NEW Wrapped Holly Circle Frame die from Memory Box with the NEW Three Candle Circle die in the center! There’s several dies in the release that can be used as centers!

I couldn’t resist using the NEW Candlelit SHINE die on the bottom.

TIP: I worked on a 4 ¼ inch x 5 ½ inch panel so I could die cut the SHINE die right in the bottom of the panel. I left the white letters in the panel, scotched taped them in on the back, that gave me an easy, perfect way to line up the individual letters when I glued the gold glitter die cut letters on top of the white ones!

I used Antique Linen Distress ink and the mini ink blending tool to ‘age’ the edges and around the flame.

Then I glued that panel to the A2 size card base.

I used Mark Richards 3mm red glitter domes for the berries.

Next one…I used the same dies but inked the pieces with the NEW Distress Oxide ink colors.

Barn Door on the outer ring and candles. I did use a Copic R27 to color the outline of the candle so there’d be more contrast.

Mowed Lawn and a little Crushed Olive smooshed on for the Holly Frame. White and Gold gel pens for the berries and flame.

I die cut a circle with the Circle Basics die set and inked it with Tumbled Glass, then smooshed on a little Peacock Feathers.

Glue the Holly to the circle, then I mounted it with foam mounting tape to the kraft A2 size card base. The outer ring is glued flat with PVA glue and the pin top Darice glue bottle.

The sentiments are from the NEW Typewriter Holiday Sentiments clear stamp set! LOVE it! Inked and stamped with Ranger Archival black ink pad. Edges inked with Gathered Twigs Distress ink.

My 3rd card using this NEW Wrapped Holly Circle Frame die is a 4 ½ inch square card.

This die is so classy die cut in Gold Foil cardstock! I love it this way. I embossed the holly circle frame in the teal cardstock, inked it a little with Distress Peacock Feathers ink pad and the mini ink blending tool then glued the gold foil diecut holly circle frame over the embossing. Hard to capture in a photo but it just tweaks it and gives a feeling of depth.

For the center on this card, I die cut the NEW Pine Tree Deer Collage die in the gold foil/mirror cardstock, then using a matching center size circle from the Circle Basics die set, I die cut the head and antlers of the deer so they’d fit perfectly in the center! Cool beans! hahahahahaha

The teal square is die cut with the Stitched Square Layers die set and the red square is die cut with the Square Basics die set.

I die cut the NEW Peace Cheshire Script die in gold foil and red cardstock. I glued them together offsetting just a bit so some of the red would show.

I added some Want 2 Scrap red gemstones here and there on the berries.

The layers were adhered to a 4 ½ inch square card base.

Whew, this was a lot for one post, but I wanted you to see all three at one time. 😀 I’m excited to use all the NEW Holiday release. I can’t wait to see what everyone else makes too!

Forget Me Not Blooms with Everglade Collage Hello Card…

Hellooooooo! I didn’t melt off the face of the earth! It’s hot and humid here though.. I easy could! lol

A clean and simple card to share with you today… I fell in love with this Forget Me Not Blooms die when I saw it made up… so whimsical and cute! I bought the flower pots too but they didn’t make it on this card. Next time!

A really straight forward card. I used thin mounting tape from Starlit Studio (link in the sidebar) to adhere the top panel to the kraft cardstock A2 size card base.

Flowers (available at Starlit Studio also) were die cut and mounted with a few pieces of mounting tape that I cut to fit…just random pieces, not a lot.

I cut the strips with a Tim Holtz Tonic trimmer and stapled them together with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

A ‘lightweight’ Summer card to wish a simple hello to someone you care about.

Stampendous Fresh Peony card…

Hi everyone! When I was growing up we had a lot of peony bushes in our yard. My parents liked to use them on Memorial Day. I’m loving all the peony craze in stamps but I’m not getting the ones I have colored up! Guess it’s enough just to collect them. One of these years we hope to plant some here! Here’s a start anyway, with this pretty Fresh Peony stamp and die set from Stampendous.

Their dies cut right on the line, so I went around with a black marker to make the white edges black.

The oval dies and another label come with the die set! The sentiment is in the stamp set. I used a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder for the background.

A clean and simple card. I spritzed the flower and leaves with water and then colored it with watercolor powder and a little color pencil after it was dry.

Now that I look at this stamp some more, I’m thinking it would be a great one to stamp multiple times, cut up the petals and layer up for a frilly, dimensional floral piece!

This ended up a little over 5 ½ inches square.

Memory Box Summer Meadow Collage and poppystamps Plumed Peacock cards…

Hi everyone! I’ve only made two cards this week and I’m gonna put them both in this post! lol I’ve had this background piece laying on my desk for over a month, finally using it! Always fun to use an unusual color combo…it’s a Distress Oxide background with Channin’s Shammy technique. Ink blend on the ink and then hit it with your bunched up stamp cleaner shammy. Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers are the ink colors I think I used here.

I die cut a piece of black cardstock with the Memory Box Wrapped Stitch Rectangles die, then die cut the New Memory Box Summer Meadow Collage in it.

I die cut the New Memory Box Floating Swan in the inked panel and in a piece of black cardstock. I wanted the water movement in the inked panel. Very cool die!

The sentiment is from poppystamps Peony Stems and Blossoms stamp set. I added an extra black butterfly die cut with the Memory Box Pippi Butterfly die.

Then some Doodlebug and Echo Park Enamel Dots placed randomly. I did use mounting tape to adhere the Summer Meadow Collage to the inked background, then glued that directly on an A2 white cardbase.

Next up… the New poppystamps Plumed Peacock and Delicate Branch Collage….

This is when you need a professional photographer…when you use mirror cardstock! lol My pictures don’t do the card justice. It’s quite striking IRL.

I die cut the Delicate Branch Collage die in a piece of gold mirror cardstock, then trimmed the panel down to fit on an A2 size panel of black cardstock.

I die cut the Plumed Peacock in glitter cardstock and pieced them in. I just put scotch tape on the back, then flip it over and put the pieces in.

I used mounting tape to adhere the gold panel to the black panel, then a little mounting tape strategically placed on the peacock so none of it would hit the branch collage die cut panel but still be popped up the same height as the panel.

I didn’t add a sentiment or anything to this card…I’m kind of a CAS girl but usually I at least have to have a sentiment! I was ok with this though. It’s very classy and elegant.
