Taylored Expressions Fresh Florals and Garden Party…

Pam Sparks Fresh Florals 2

Hi everyone! I have another card for the Taylored Expressions June release. I love how this one turned out.  The pretty new Garden Party embossing folder was the perfect backdrop for the new Fresh Florals stamp set and coordinating die set.

Wow, it showcases the new TE Premium Dye Ink pads too!

I used the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate for the center sentiment…such a fun font!

I stamped flowers to my hearts content and die cut away.  I have a stash for making more of this card.  yay!

Thanks for stopping by…you can almost smell the flowers, right?! hehe

Memory Box Chrysanthemum Corner and Collage dies…

Pam Sparks Chrysanthemum Corners Butterfly

Happy Saturday to you kindred stamper and card maker friends! I’m back again with two more Chrysanthemum flower cards.  I don’t think I will ever forget how to spell that after typing it so many times this week! lol

My first card uses the Chrysanthemum Corner die, one of the frames from the Shaker Rectangle Frames die set, a layer for behind the corners, cut from the Studio Rectangle Layers die set and the Ornamental Butterflies stamp set.

I made it a very basic card…I die cut the corner two times in TE Premium Strawberry Milkshake cardstock and glued them to the Rectangle Layer cut in the top left and bottom right corners. I had to snip off just a teeny bit of the corners because the layers and the frame dies have rounded corners.

Stamp the sentiment from the stamp set Ornamental Butterflies with Versafine Onyx ink… I used the MISTI.

Then I used my Perfect Layers Rulers to cut the 1/16th inch black cardstock mat behind the rectangle and corner rounded the corners with a corner rounder punch.

Stamp and die cut the Butterfly from the Ornamental Butterflies stamp and die sets. I stamped the solid background butterfly in TE Premium Strawberry Milkshake Dye ink.

I die cut 3 of the frame dies, glued them together and then glued them on top of the Chrysanthemum Corners piece.

Adhere that to an A2 size cardbase and add an approx. ⅜ inch strip of black cardstock at the bottom edge on the front.  Glue on the butterfly and a few clear sequins.

Pam Sparks Chrysanthemum Oval 4

For this card I started with the Oval Master Frame die. I wanted to create a lace type effect on top of the TE Lollipop cardstock i part. So I die cut the Oval Master die in Lollipop, two Chrysanthemum Corners in white cardstock, glued them to the Lollipop, fit it back in the Oval Master Frame die to cut the corner flowers off that were hanging over the inner oval center  and sent it through the Big Shot again.

Interesting effect. It really flattened the corner cuts and lightly embossed them into the Lollipop piece…rather cool. I want to do it again and not put the white corners on, just show the light embossing.

I die cut the Chrysanthemum Collage die in white cardstock and layered it on top of lollipop cardstock.  You can use the oval you cut when you cut it for the background piece, just be sure you get it centered good.

Die cut the Oval Master Frame in white cardstock for the outer thin frame.  Just keep all your extra pieces in the envelope the die comes in. You never know when they’ll come in handy!  : )

I die cut a piece of black cardstock in the Oval Master Frame to get the skinny oval frame. It wasn’t hard to glue in at all!

Layer it up and then work on the banner.  I used the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle die set. Cut a strip of white cardstock and then place it back in the rectangle die to cut it to the long banner-ish shape.

Stamp the banner with the sentiment from the Ornamental Butterflies again, using the MISTI and Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Cut up the leftover white Chrysanthemum pieces and glue them on the ends. I added a few baby pearls to make it a little fancier.

More birthdays coming up and other fun things… is there time for patriotic cards?  The 4th of July always sneaks up on me! hehe

Thanks for stopping by so many times this week. It’s been fun! Happy weekend!

Memory Box Chrysanthemum Bouquet…

Pam Sparks Chrysanthemum Bouquet 3

Hi everyone – today and tomorrow I have some Chrysanthemum cards to show you.

I die cut the Memory Box Chrysanthemum Bouquet  in metallic silver cardstock and in white cardstock. I die pieced the silver cut into the negative space left from cutting the white cut, adding scotch tape to the back side, then die cut it with the Stitched Rectangle Layers die.

I die cut another flower piece in white to get the flower petals and background outline flowers.

I was happy the white cut all stayed intact when it came out of the die so I could lay it back in the negative waste piece and ink blend it with Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord Distress inks and the mini ink blending tool.  (Putting it back in the waste piece just makes it stay in one place easier while inking.)

I was able to lay the inked flower cut over the silver flower cut and push the flower petals into place.  The scotch tape on the back of the rectangle holds the petals in place.

I used the leftover inked flower border for decorating the background.

Stamp the sentiment from the Ornamental Butterflies stamp set on the bottom of the card-base before mounting the stitched rectangle piece to the card. (I used the MISTI to stamp)

After I had the card put together I added some Copic Sketch marker coloring to the petals but I wouldn’t have really needed to. hehe  Sometimes you just need a little color book therapy  a long with die cutting therapy. lol

I hope this makes sense. I know, a video would be nice but it’s hard to stop and make a video when you want to just make more cards!  Insert smiling face.

Holler if you have questions though. It’s just fun to play around and see what you end up with. There are a couple cards I’m NOT going to show you! hehe  But I do have two more using the other Chrysanthemum dies that I’ll post tomorrow.

See you again soon!  Thanks for all your encouraging comments!  I love them and appreciate you taking the time to write them! ❤

poppystamps Terrific Tricycle Birthday…

Pam Sparks Birthday Balloons & Trike

Hi everyone! Staying in out of the heat to stamp these days! So thankful for air conditioning!

When I saw these new HAPPY Balloon dies, I knew I wanted to hang the new Terrific Tricycle die from them.

So ‘happy’ with how this turned out.  It’s always a relief when something is blog worthy! lol

I die cut the balloons and trike from watercolor paper and colored with the Zig Clean Color Brush markers and the Zig Water paint brush.

I die cut the trike from black foam so the handlebars would be sturdier for tying on the buttonhole thread. Glued it to the painted trike.

I ink blended a little Tumbled Glass Distress ink on the background of an A2 size white card-base.

I figured out where the balloons would go and then stamped the sentiment from the new Ornamental Butterflies stamp set. I’m really liking the sentiments in this set and I have another card to show soon using the butterflies…pretty.

I mounted the balloons with foam mounting squares… tied on the buttonhole thread…glued the trike on, except for the handlebar area…tied the thread to the handlebars and then glued it down.  I did put a teeny bit of glue on top of the knots on the handlebars too.

Hope the card made you smile and remember your trike days! hehe

Taylored Expressions…oh crop…pasture birthday!

Pam Sparks Green Acres

I had some fun with this card for the Taylored Expressions June release.

Using the previously released Green Acres stamp set and the just released dies to coordinate, I stamped in the NEW TE Hybrid Oreo ink and colored in the sloppy style with Copic Sketch markers.

I made the ‘field’ by embossing the Bead Board Embossing Folder several times. The grass is the TE Wispy Grass border die.

A super fun card…the critters have so much personality, so cute! I can just hear that rooster crowing…get up, get up! lol
