Leaping Reindeer…

The front…

the inside…

I saw Shelly’s pop up leaping reindeer card HERE and wanted to try… I didn’t succeed with the swivel yet but went ahead and finished the card just as a pop up inside.  I like it anyway…funny thing is…when I started it Monday, I thought I would make six! hahahahaha, joke was on me… just because my prototype worked! lol

It was fun to try and check out her post for today… so cool!

I used some older Basic Grey paper and Tim Holtz dies HERE.   I used a Sizzix tree die but after, I thought the Tim Holtz tree sure would’ve been cool!  The pine branch on the front is from Impression Obsession. I swiped some Delicata gold ink on the branches… oh, the scene has Gingerbread Glimmer mist on it also…hard to see.  Perfect Paper Layers tools to mat the front…link in the sidebar…

The gold berries on the front are from Marianne Design.  The stamp I used for the winter scene on the front is from Penny Black, it’s called Heaven and Earth and you’ll find it HERE and 20% off too!

I used a new Sizzlet die, designed by Tim Holtz for the Joy To The World sentiment
The wood grain embossing is a plate by Papertrey Ink
the cord is from Lawn Fawn, strategically placed because the embossing folder had to be run through the machine twice…

It’s crazy here right now… we’ve been working on our house… decisions and decisions…ugh…taking away from my creativity!  Want to see a scary photo?! haha  Now remember, we live in a big old house… 3 stories…4 if you count the basement!    Well,  we hadn’t restored the back stairway yet, so,  guess what…it shares a wall with the kitchen, the wall the stove is on, so we were able to install a range hood and vent it to the outdoors…love it but most of all, Tim was able to install a Central Vacuum system!!! OH,  how I LOVE it!  Something every woman should have! hehe  No,  I’m not linking up to anything! lol  It was a very big deal figuring out what to order that would work in our house but it turned out fabulous!  yea!  Early Merry Christmas to me!

So now, it’s getting the stairway built back in…right now the cavity is 27 feet plus tall!!!  Crazy…amazing how they built old houses!  It’s really hard to show in pictures but I wish I could…if you open the door on the 2nd floor… don’t take a step…you’d drop all the way to the basement! eek! So much for the excitement here…more to do because of course, one thing leads to another! lol

Thanks for stopping by!  Fun to post today and thank you for your kind comments and visits!

Tilda’s Town Challenge… Name Your Technique!

Time for Tilda!  Tailor Tilda that is!  I love this image… sewing has always been near and dear to my heart and   our 3 daughters like to sew and even a couple of the granddaughters are sewing already!  So FUN!  I’m sure if I hadn’t found stamping in 1994,  I’d still be sewing my heart out!

I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink,  masked her with eclipse tape and used my stamp a ma jig to position the school desk.  Colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  The Magnolia Kurbitz corner is stamped with Broken China ink… 2nd generation stamping.  October Afternoon pattern paper… think it’s the Thrift Shop pad.

My techniques for today’s card are masking, distressing with the Tim Holtz paper distresser and distress ink and ink blending tool, stitching with the sewing machine and embellishing die cuts.  I used the Tim Holtz sewing border die.  I cut it out of mirror card-stock and kraft card-stock… trimmed off the different pieces and layered them up.  Wound buttonhole thread around the spool a couple times.   The sentiment is an old Hero arts stamp… love it!

Enjoy the inspiration and challenge over on the Tilda’s Town Challenges blog, HERE.  The TT Design Team gals do an awesome job creating fabulous cards for you to enjoy… drop in and we’d love to hear from  you too!  Hope you can play in the Name Your Technique Challege!

Happy stamping and stitching!  See you again soon!

A couple side shots of the Front Panel Stair-step design – more on this style card on these posts, HERE and HERE.

I inked up the Stone Wall stamp and wiped away the butterflies, flower and grass, stamped it, inked it up again and wiped away then stamped with the stamp a ma jig to position them right the two images tight up against each other.  All I had to do was draw in a few lines then…I stamped a light dot pattern from Printworks with Pumice Stone Distress ink after I colored the wall with warm gray copics. The background sky is Chipped Sapphire Distress ink applied with the Tim Holtz ink blending tool on a craft sheet.  A few light spritzes with H2O and some teeny snowflakes and fine glass glitter from the Art Glittering System.  The snow on the trees is a Snow Marker from Marvy and a little fine glass glitter again.  The chipboard Christmas pieces are from K & Co. Brenda Walton Evergreen Icons.  The border piece inside is from K & Co. Elizabeth Brownd Visions of Christmas border pack.
