Sweet November Patriotic Betsy…

Rah, Rah, Rah!   It’s daytime,  so I made pinwheels instead of keeping with sparklers, for Sweet November Patriotic Pixie Betsy!  I ❤ them! I used a 5/8 inch square punch to punch the double sided pattern paper… poked a hole in the center of the square… cut up toward the hole from each corner… then folded one tip from each corner up to meet the center hole.  When I put in the teeny 1/16th in brads,  I caught those tips and kept them under the brad.

It’s June Release Tuesday Review on the All That Scraps Blog today, HERE.  If you want to see lot of fabulous designing… click over!  You won’t be disappointed!

Betsy is inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Hammermill Color Copy 80# Cover card-stock,  cut out and colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  Hair – E50, 30, 23, 25, 27, 29,  Skin – E0000, 000, 00, 21, Cheeks – R20 diluted with R00, Red – R24, 27, 29, 59,  Skirt – B91, 93, 95, 97, 99.

I used CC Designs Butterflies Postage set (images stamped with Pumice Stone Distress ink), It’s Your Birthday Sentiment set and Beach sentiments set (stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink).  I did use my Stamp a ma jig to position the sentiments.

The pattern paper is from K & Company. One of their little pads they make and say they’re for matting photos. I’ve had it for a couple years though… sorry… it’s a good one!  I was sure tickled to find it stashed away here!  lol  Edges all inked with Walnut Stain Distress ink and the ink blending tool.  I found an Americana 12×12 paper pad from K & Company online… linked below… not the same thing but might give the older style look…

The little clouds are from the smallest Fiskars cloud punch series… so cute! (the smallest I could find says medium)  I colored them a little with some Warm gray copics…  W0, 1, 3.

The grass is CC Designs Cutters Grass border die!  oh,  I LOVE this die!  I crimped it too… love this little crimper! hehe… sorry gals…JK! lol   I gave it some inking with Peeled Paint Distress ink and the Ink Blending tool.

I used the Perfect Layers 1/8th in. tool to cut the red layer.

Card base is 5 x 7, cut from an 8.5 x 11 sheet of kraft card-stock.  Scored with a Martha Stewart score board.

a close up of the pond…

Lazy Days of Summer is this weeks challenge at Tilda’s Town Challenges, HERE… an easy challenge to create with when Magnolia has so many fun images to play with!   I used a ton of stamps and dies on this Easel card with Easel add-ons.

Here‘s my video from last year when I made this card. I wish you could see it IRL!  It’s so much cuter!

The pond is adorable… EK Success small paper shaper punch fish… the water ripples and lily pads are from a Cottage Cutz die, HERE.

I used Hooked Tilda, Little Miss MuuMuu, Barbed Wire Background, Magnolia Branch, Lazy Summer Days, Picnic Quilt,  Floral Swirl Corner and Clover with Flowers, at Tilda’s Town store HEREHEREHEREHEREHEREHERE, and HERE

I used the Quilting Creations crimper on the kraft strip for ground… link below. Edges inked with Walnut Stain Distress ink and the ink blending tool.

I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Hammermill Color Copy 80# Cover card-stock and colored with Copic Sketch Markers.

The sky is inked in with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and the ink blending tool

Mats/layers were all cut with the Perfect Layers Tools.

CC Designs Tuesday June review…get your goggles out!

Are you ready for the fun-est card ever??? ok,  I do get excited now and then! hahaha

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Meet… Snorkeling Beatrice!!!
Is she cute or what!  Lovin’ her curly underwater hair!
I had to place her in an underwater-ish scene… out came the magnetic QK holder full of CCD Cutters dies.
I used…
Shell and Starfish dies (cuts and embosses in one pass)
Bubble Border die (to die for) pun intended = )
Bubbles die (3 circle frames, I used the largest for the underwater adventures sentiment)
Squiggles die
Mistletoe die
Cloud dies

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

I stamped Snorkeling Beatrice on Papertrey Ink white select card-stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic Sketch Markers.  I cut her out with the Spellbinders Mega Oval Nestabilities die and embossed it while it was still in the die with my embossing stylus.  Left it in the die and turned it right side up and sponged on Distress inks with the ink blending tools.  First Tumbled Glass, then a little Broken China and last and the least Faded Jeans. Goggles have glossy accents on the lens.

The mats are all cut with the Perfect Layers Tools.  Even the card base.  I scored an 8.5 x 11 piece of Bazzill card-stock in half and folded it.  I held my Tim Holtz ruler at 1/4 in. on the card base fold and placed the top card section (w/adhesive on the back) butted up right to the ruler.  Pressed it down… then proceeded to cut the other three sides with the Perfect Layers tools 1/4 in.  Because it’s a double layer, you will have to go over your cut again.  Works slick!

Luv the cute little underwater adventures sign!  I just hand cut the post and glued the circle and sentiment to the top.  I did stamp the new CC Designs Woodgrain stamp on the post and the New circle frame die!   The rocks on the water bottom are actually clouds!  I know… those clouds work for everything… well almost!!! lol Clouds, snow and now rocks!  I just hand cut the little “seas the day” banner but it dawned on me after the fact that there is a die that would work for that too!   The little fishie is an old EK Success small Paper Shapers punch… I know… not around anymore but Christine will make us some fishie dies!  yea!

Relax….another boat!

*****

I’ve never been in a sailboat so I don’t know if it’s relaxing or not!  I’ve been in several fishing boats and as long as I have a book… it’s relaxing! hehe

This is a Marianne Design Sailboat die, Classic Boats… if you live close to me… the Craft and Hobby Shop in Ottumwa can get it for you!  Online,  check it out HERE.  I embossed it while the cut piece was still in the die…then turned it over and with the ink blending tool I inked it with Distress inks, Brushed Corduroy and Tumbled Glass.  White Distress Stain and white pen on the tips of the waves and torn water card-stock.

The “sun”  so to speak is a stamp from a clear stamp set that Alice made me buy! OK,  she didn’t make me but when she pointed out the potential I grabbed it quick!  I am so glad she did!  It’s called Time Traveler by Tattered Angels… it’s been a couple years but I keep my stamps!  I might need them someday and sure enough… I’m always glad I have them!  There’s that Fiskars wave border punch again!

Linking up to Stretch My Stamps post by Virginia  HERE.  I just used part of the month/date circle stamp and then I used it for a sun instead of what it was meant for!  I love it!

The little seashell is from CC Designs NEW for Summer Sugarplums Beach kit!  LOVE it!  The word “RELAX” is from a CC Designs NEW for June Oh So Beachy Sentiments set… on the inside it says, “it’s your day!”

I’m going to use this for my swap card this afternoon at stamp club.  Glad Carolyn picked this theme because I needed to use this boat stuff!  So guess what… I’m on a boat kick… a couple more to use!  oh no! hahahahaha

I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest and I’ve been making badges for Tilda’s Town Challenges with the polaroid look… very fun!  Have a sailin’ good weekend!
