Simon Says Stamp Leafy Circle Cards…

Hi everyone! WOWzer it’s a hot day in May for IA! 93˚! eek! So I’m inside writing a blog post. I wanted to go on a walk but not if it means melting!

My cards today feature Simon Says Stamp’s new Leafy Circle die. It’s from the latest fabulous release called ‘Sending Sunshine’.

What I did…I die cut a piece of 110# Neenah Solar White cardstock with SSS Stitch Frame die. Then instead of cutting the die in the panel, I embossed it using the tan mat, shims and the multi purpose platform in my Big Shot like you would do an embossing folder.

Using the ink blending tools and 3 Distress ink colors, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint, I added color. I thought it was so cool, I did the same technique (embossing/inking) for my next card but added a kraft color panel with the Leafy Circle cut in it over the top of the ink blended piece. whew… run on sentence.

I stamped the sentiment on vellum with Ranger Archival ink, trimmed it and used the Glue Dots Vellum adhesive on the back, just gotta tell you, that worked slick. Then I stamped explore nature on the white panel with the same ink. Stamping for both using the MISTI.

I matted the white panel with a green rectangle die cut from the Memory Box Rectangle Basics set. I love that teeny border. Mounting tape on the back of that and placed on a top folded kraft color cardbase that I edged with Gathered Twigs Distress ink and a mini ink blending tool.

Next card…same wreath but I CASEd myself…brought back that Meadow Flower… can’t get enough of it I guess!

This time I ink blended with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Inks. Colored the flower head with Copics and added three Nuvo White drops. I used mounting tape behind the flower, the flower stem leaves and the sending die cut.

Both of these cards are A2 size and good for snail mail!

birch press design ADI Spinning Snowflake Card and Video…

hey! Another Christmas card…knockin’ ’em out of the park this week! Little league baseball lingo there…you can tell where we’ve been two evenings a week! lol

Here’s where my brain took me next working with this ADI layer die set… this is the B layer paired up with the largest snowflake from the poppystamps Shiny Snowflake die set.

Then I die cut the Memory Box Warm Christmas Wishes die twice, trimmed off the word warm and glued them together. I kept the dots for the i’s, even glued them together but in the end, they were lost, bah haha, so Nuvo drops in white to the rescue!

A close up… I die cut two of the outer circle from Layer B and two of the snowflakes. The DMC metallic thread is sandwiched between the twos.

I used the Mandala Card die set so the circle would be perfectly placed in the card front panel. Die cut it in Canson Bristol Smooth card, inked it all over with Distress Oxide inks (Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers) and made the fun mottled look with a wet shammy… call it Shammy Lift if you want a name! I did it back a few posts with an AR poppy die, after seeing others doing it. Then I used another cut of the same Mandala Card die for a template and the matching size Circle Basics die to die cut the circle in the card-base. That worked slick for getting the circles lined up.

A flat photo…just cuz it turned out pretty good! hehe Oh, that’s a Memory Box pool notecard cut in half on the inside…love how it matches the Peacock Oxide ink.

Hi everyone! I’ve been playing with some of the birch press design dies! I have some fun things to share and I’ll start with this early bird Christmas card! Whoa! I know… it’s been a long time since I posted Christmas in May!

I grabbed some metallic gold card-stock and started cutting… I didn’t use all the layers…not sure I can even tell you what I did since I moved on to some other designs. You’ll just want to die cut and see what you come up with by changing out the layers.

I kept it very simple…the background is two pattern papers from a 6×6 pad. This one is a few years old but I’m sure you have some that will work just as stunningly! A little gold cord ‘ties’ it all together.

It was a sunny day for taking pictures, so I moved around 3 times and have different looking photos from each spot. I stopped at posting 3 photos at least! lol I wish I could really capture how pretty it is in real life!

Hope everything is growing that you’re watering! Our trees are looking good. whew. Leafing out and soaking up the water and sun. Kinda scared to get the water bill. I didn’t Winter over our 3 Endless Summer Hydrangeas that we planted last year right, I guess. No buds on the old wood. Fortunately there’s a lot of new coming from the bottom though! I just hope we get some flowers! I know….rolling my eyes at myself…Lilly of the Valley pips on the way…hope we can do those right! We have a lot of shade on the east side of the house. I’d rather make cards but…sometimes you gotta go outside! lol

Memory Box Cheery Flower Collage Hello Card…

The most flower lovin’ time of the year! Hello and happy mother’s day weekend if you’re a mother! Another flower card from me today and hopefully more to come! Lots of things I want to make up…seems I’m a better at collecting than creating! lol You?! lol

I love how fun the white flowers and border ended up against the olive and bluegreen. Then that dash of black…

I die cut an A2 size panel of olive color card-stock with the Memory Box Cheery Flower Collage die. Using some scrap pieces of white card-stock, die cut just the flower heads and glue then on top of the olive flowers. Add a little light Copic coloring in the petal veins. The leafy border from poppystamps Pierced Borders is die cut twice in white card-stock.

Cut a ½ inch polka dot border and tape it to the bottom of the olive panel, then glue one of the white borders on above it and up on top too. Any pattern paper that matches will do…of course mine is old…I’m not good at using it up while it’s new. ugh.

Die cut poppystamps Brush Hello die in black card-stock, stamp ‘just saying’ from poppystamps Sentiments of Hello stamp set on white card-stock (I used the MISTI), trim and glue both to the card front.

On the back side of the panel, add mounting foam tape or squares, you want enough to catch the pattern paper and adhere the panel to the card-base. Cut a square of pattern paper to place behind the circle ‘window’, then stick it to the card-base.

I added two Doodlebug Sprinkles to the flower centers.

It was fun…I even used pattern paper! YES!!! lol

Stamp club this afternoon…looking forward to seeing some other card-makers and enjoying a program on alcohol inks by one of the gals!

poppystamps Blooming Rose Cards…

Hi cardmakers and friends! Two cards made with the poppystamps Blooming Rose die as the focal point. I always like to see what other dies I can use with a die too!

This is a flat, A2 size card. No stress… it’ll mail…no foam and only little white Nuvo drops! So inlay die cutting and ink blending make this card.

Die cut the poppystamps Blooming Rose die in green and in pink. I used Memory Box notecards for this…Sage and I’m not sure what the pink is but it matches Altenew’s Cotton Candy ink pad. Piece the two together (I do this right side down on my table) and scotch tape the pieces in on the back side. Lay this aside for now.

Die cut the front panel with the largest rectangle from the Memory Box Wrapped Stitched Rectangle die set. Then die cut a circle in the same panel with the Memory Box Wrapped Stitched Circle die set.

Do your ink blending on the edges, fit the circle back in the panel and use scotch tape on the back to hold it in place.

Die cut the poppystamps Blooming Rose die in the panel next…you’ll need to keep a few of the pieces for putting the ‘puzzle’ back together so don’t throw anything away.

Place the color Blooming Rose piece into the hole you cut in the panel…piece in the pieces you saved. Tape on the back. Adhere to the card-base.

Stamp the sentiment from the Memory Box Birthday Sentiments set, I used the MISTI.

My next card is inlay too…no little pieces though.

I had a hard time deciding which front picture to use so you have two! RME

First I die cut the border from the poppystamps Pierced Borders set in a white card-stock panel. Then I die cut the poppystamps Blooming Rose in the panel. You can go as far down or as far up as you want into the border you already cut, because you’re just cutting the hole to place the gold piece into.

In another piece of card-stock die cut the Blooming Rose again, ink it with Versamark ink or any pigment ink pad and emboss it with gold embossing powder.

Piece it into the white panel, I work with the right side down and then use scotch tape in a few places to hold the rose in place. On this one it was pretty much just the branch and swirl things off the side that got the tape on the back.

Then I glued the white panel to a purple piece and then to a white A2 size card-base.

A clean and simple card that you could add any sentiment to before you send or gift it!

Nothing spectacular today but just some fun things to do with dies, ink and paper! So glad you clicked over!
