My first card for the hop is a window card…cut a circle from an A-2 top folding card, die cut the Serendipity Ornament die…lovin’ this die! Poked a couple holes for the twine bow, die cut some pine branches, glued them on and there you have it!  It was hard for me to leave it without a sentiment, but I’ll figure something out! lol

Up close…that is dark brown card-stock in the background…helped it show up for the photos.

On this card I used the Ornament Stamp and Die set from Serendipity Stamps.  I heat embossed the ornament stamp, twice on the background, then die cut the ornament die, heat embossed it and using mounting squares, adhered it to the card front.  I used black pigment ink to ink up the ornament stamp all three times and Judikins Egyptian Gold embossing powder.  I used the Stamp a ma jig for positioning.

The ornament stamps beautifully and the ornament die cuts perfectly!

Here’s a close up…

I used my Perfect Layers Rulers to mat the image panel and the base of the card.  I love how perfect and elegant the 1/16th inch ruler cuts the mats.  I’m lovin’ the new shorter rulers and the cutting mat… both are AWESOME and I’m telling you true!  : )

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

I was in the mood to color, so I cut the ornament die from white card-stock so I could color it with Copics!  I wanted to use my Wink of Stella Red and Silver Brush pens too!  It’s Christmas…bring on the sparkle!

PamSparksSerendipityOrnamentPineClose

Then I needed some greenery to hang the ornament!  poppystamps Pine Needle Border, Berry Sprig and Memory Box Ribbon Candy Border all combined to make a festive arrangement for it to hang from. Ranger Cranberry Liquid Pearls on the berries.

A festive sentiment from Serendipity Stamps, Tis the Season… stamped beautifully with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Giveaway Winner and Memory Box Butterfly Vine…

PamSparksButterflyStencilCollage

Such a habit… I always seem to put a photo at the top of the post!  hehe  Oh well… go ahead…scroll down and see who the winner is!

Here’s the Butterfly Vine stencil debossed into Strathmore Bristol card-stock… It really worked great… the other side was nicely embossed, so you could use either side.

It was great to use the debossed side because the stencil stayed in the grooves while I misted it with three colors of Glimmer Mist. Patina, Frosty Nights and Mistletoe.

Let that dry…

Then I replaced the stencil in the grooves again and stamped with a variety of Memory Box stamps inked with Distress Ink pads. One of the stamps, Vintage Scroll has been discontinued.  Sorry about that… some shops still have it in stock.

I used the Perfect Layers ⅛ inch ruler to mat the stenciled and inked piece on black card-stock.

Here’s a close up…

PamSparksButterflyStencilCollageClose

I really like the definition the debossing/embossing gives… like letterpress without the ink.

I layered it up like this in my Big Shot…

Multi purpose Platform set on Tab 1

Clear Cutting Mat

Spellbinder Tan Embossing mat

Bristol card-stock (I very lightly spritzed it with water on both sides – spritzing on the back side helps keep it from curling)

Butterfly Vine Stencil

Clear Cutting Mat

5 pieces of 5 ½ x 8 ½ in. 65# cover card-stock, stacked together and placed on top (shims)

Then run it through!

NOW FOR the WINNER of the MB Lunette and Oriel Butterfly dies from SLS!!!

The NEW Siena Floral die and a butterfly I cut from the NEW Kensington Border dieThe Siena Floral die comes with the floral stem and separate circle dies for the flower centers.  I used a mouse pad and the largest ball stylus from my stylus set to round the centers of the flowers.

Two rubber stamps…April Showers Combo for the sentiment and Washi Tape Dots for the border stamped with lavender chalk ink.  I used a little of the same lavender ink to shade the flower petals and leaves.

I used my Perfect Layers tools, link and coupon code in the sidebar, to cut the pattern paper mat and then adhered it to the card base with ATG tape.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to link up for the Butterfly dies! ttul!

Memory Box and Starlitstudio Butterfly Dies Giveaway!!!

Some days I get carried away…are three cards in a post too many?  well…fortunately I didn’t take a picture of the first card I sent off to Printworks and one other card I didn’t like well enough to post… so whew… it was almost five! lol

When the Piano Border die came out… it was a MUST HAVE it!  I grew up playing the piano and still like to play once in awhile.  I taught piano lessons for years and once in awhile I work with the grandkids. Fun.

So I’ll start with the Grand Piano card!

PamSparksGrandPianoBorder700

A 5 ½ inch square card, hand cut to resemble a Grand Piano. The Piano Border die, the Calozonia Frame die for the Music rack.  I cut and embossed the frame die in the Big Shot but extra embossed it with the stylus… a couple of my videos show how to do that.

PamSparksGrandPianoBorderClose

I really did stamp the sentiment with a good black ink pad… not sure why the light hit it and lightened it for the pictures.  I do have double mounting squares under the centers of each side of the pages, so they’d curve a bit.  grrrr  I’m not taking the photos over,  I’m not!  lol

My Grand Piano card was in the Weekly Favorites over at Splitcoast Stampers!  Thank you so much ladies!

PamSparksVenitaLunetteButterfly

I spritzed the new Floral Mesh stencil with a bit of glimmer mist on watercolor paper for the background…layered up card-stock and pattern paper with my Perfect Layers Tools, cut the Venita Flourish and butterfly body from silver glitter card-stock, added some loops with May Arts purple cord, added the the Oriel and Lunette Butterflies on top and stamped part of the sentiment with the stamp a ma jig!  It’s an A-2 size card.
