I used this super cute Skateboard Tilda… she’s been playing hard… she must’ve skinned her knee and forgot to pull her jeans back down! lol Behind her is the Vintage Swedish Background stamp.

I colored with Distress Markers…her hair got a little dark, oops, I used Vintage Photo first but didn’t like it so I went back and used Gathered Twigs over it. Next time I’m just going to use Gathered Twigs and see what that looks like.

Her face is a light wash of Vintage Photo and then Tattered Rose, like I did in a video…under the header photo you’ll find the video tab…pull down.

Shirt and tennis shoes are Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick. Faded Jeans on the jeans. Tree trunks are Gathered Twigs. Grass is Mowed Lawn. Sidewalk is Pumice Stone. Skateboard is Shaded Lilac. Sky is Tumbled Glass.

Stamped with Ranger Archival Black ink on Canson Motval 90# watercolor paper.

I cut the scene with some new (to me) Square Spellbinder dies and then floral corners are from Magnolia. Flower Swirl Corner DooHickeys die.

The finished card is 5 ½ in. square.

It was fun to color again. : ) Happy weekend everyone! Some grocery shopping to do, nothing real exciting.

Well, not sure I’ve told you, but, our youngest daughter is expecting and it won’t be long until grandchild number 16 is here!!! woohoo! We’re excited. She’s knitting up a storm… she makes the sweetest things. I’ll have to post something on my FB page. I have shared a couple photos of what our middle daughter is up to. She purchased a loom and is weaving… oh my… so amazing! Our oldest daughter sews and creates adorable things too! Like my FB page and I’ll share once in awhile what they’re up to. Everybody’s talkin’ about it! hmmmm…. I look out the window and we’re covered with snow! hohoho Well, a couple days this past week felt like there would soon be a possibility of Spring coming to Iowa! Course we had rain too…pass on rain. ha Alice, quit laughing at me! I love umbrellas but I would just as soon use them for snow! haha

I used some of the new dies from Memory Box, very fun! I LOVE the new Kensington Border, Toulouse Background and Blooming Branch dies. I did cut the big flower off the Toulouse Background for this card though. I also used the Dancing Butterflies die and Memory Box Spring Greetings rubber stamp.

My Mind’s Eye Pattern Paper, pearls and Strathmore color card-stock for the frame and card base.

Distress Marker coloring video and card…

My card for Tilda’s Town Challenges today is colored with Distress Markers in a watercolor way. I used Lovelypop Tilda for a birthday card because the theme is Celebrate!

Have you tried it? Here’s a video of how I color with Distress Markers on Canson Cold Press watercolor paper. It’s very basic but if you are curious how to begin, it might be an encouragement to you.

I did make this in HD, so you can click the gear and watch it that way if you want.

Here’s a close up but remember… I was coloring standing up so it’s kinda messier than usual! : ) I think coloring on Cold Press paper has a different look than Hot Press paper for sure and definitely different than Copic coloring. I have to keep telling my self that it’s ok! lol

I used the new In the Snow Heart Tilda and In the Snow Scarf Tilda. I just love how they look like they are having a snowball fight! It’s been too cold here to even think of being outside…now it’s the other extreme! lol Although if a person hurried, they could build a snowman quick before it melted.

I colored these cuties with Distress Ink markers on Canson Cold Press watercolor paper. I loved Jay Jay’s card using these two…love her watercoloring with pencils! I had to have them then! Stamps are great Christmas presents! lol

Here’s the Distress marker colors I used…

Face – tattered rose/worn lipstick on the cheeks

snowballs/sky – tumbled glass

red is all Fired Brick

Green is Peeled Paint

In the Snow Scarf Tilda – Brown is Vintage Photo (hat and pants) Shoes – Walnut Stain, Hair – Mustard and Vintage Photo

In the Snow Heart Tilda – pants – Faded Jeans, Shoes – Vintage Photo, Hair – Antique Linen and Walnut Stain

Ground – Pumice Stone

The tree is a Marianne Designs die… the snowflakes are a pack of embellishments I grabbed while out shopping one day…kinda crazy purchase when you have so many punches and dies already! ugh. They came in handy today when I needed something quick!

I used the Perfect Layers Tools to mat the image and the red layer. They are so awesome! Link on the right in the sidebar.
