Taylored Expressions February Release Day…

Pam Sparks Door To Door Spring Decor Thurs

Hi everyone!  It’s release day at Taylored Expressions.com today!  I’m featuring the NEW Door to Door Spring Decor die set that goes along with the previously released Door to Door die sets.

I love all the elements that come in these sets! Unlimited creativity!

I used the Bead Board Embossing Folder for the house siding…the New Little Bits Mailbox, NEW Welcome Spring banner die,  Wispy Grass Border die, Door To Door die set and the wreath from the Door to Door Decor die set.

I scored the steps with my scor pal and inked the edges of pretty much everything with  Hickory Smoke and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and the ink blending tool. I used a white gel pen to decorate the eggs on the wreath.

My past Door to Door cards are HERE and HERE.

Pam Sparks In the Garden

Look at this darling NEW In the Garden die! I wanted to make it a vintage sepia ‘look’ so I used Tea Dye Distress Ink and did watercolor ink smooshing on canvas looking card-stock for the background. Edges of everything are inked with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks and the ink blending tool.

The sentiment is from the Shade Tree Scripture stamp set.

Pam Sparks Light of the World

A beautiful New stamp set, Light of the World, with lovely stain glass windows and sentiments. I stamped in dark brown ink, then blended on Distress inks…Shaded Lilac, Cracked Pistachio for coloring.  I can’t remember what the orangish color is. ugh. sorry about that!  I used white gel pen over the flower petals after I finished inking.

I covered the stain glass piece with double sided adhesive and glittered it with Vintage Glass Glitter…so pretty!

I gold embossed the sentiment on vellum die cut with the Stitched Banner Stacklets and adhered with little dots of Tombow mono multi behind the words.  The little bird’s tail from the NEW Little Bits Birds die set, is glued to the vellum also then a mounting square behind the top part of the bird.

Pam Sparks Simply Stamped Tulips

The ‘true’ way to welcome Spring in our area anyway is with Tulips!   Gorgeous new stamp and die sets, Simply Stamped Tulips.

I stamped, die cut and placed them on the NEW Leafy Vine Cutting plate die cut in white.  So romantic! lol

poppystamps Sylvan Frame, Susanna Blossom and WINNERS!

Pam Sparks Sylvan Susanna

Hi everyone! Here I am with inky fingers, posting a card and the two winners of the NEW Memory Box Stitched Oval Layers Die sets!  YAY!

I used some Hobby Lobby watercolor paper, Distress inks, Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers.  Brushed on some water, brushed on some color, dried with the heat tool but…don’t try to pick off any black marks!  That’s what happened in the bottom right dark violet area. Silly me, just leave it alone! When you try to remove, it makes it white!  So then, you add more color and the paper pills up, so then, you have a mess and end up darker and remembering again why you should just leave well enough alone!!!  Will I ever learn?! Rolling my eyes at myself!  : )

I decided to post it anyway…running out of daylight (for photos) so no starting over and I wanted to post the winners!

I spritzed some pearl spray into the drops of Distress ink refills but it’s hard to see it in the pictures. boo.  It’s really a nice touch though.  The green leaves are Twisted Citron Distress ink.  There was a time in my life when I would’ve never put these colors together! WOW!  I’ve changed! lol

Die cut the Susanna Blossom, emboss it, leave it in the die, flip it over and ink it with Wilted Violet Distress ink and the ink blending tool. I spritzed it a little with the pearl spray too but be careful cuz it moves easy!  You don’t want too much. (I had to do it twice) lol

The ‘happy spring’ sentiment is from the Springtime Bunnies stamp set. There is also a ‘thinking of you’ in the set and it would work nicely also.  I’ll link you up to everything below.

SO…..DRUMROLL or Cymbals…you pick… haha

THE WINNERS ARE… #38 Linda Pearce and #42 AnnieC!  Congratulations gals! I will email you. I’ll need your snail mail address.  Happy die cutting to you!

Thanks so much everyone for commenting and following my blog! I love coming here and showing you what I’ve been up to!  If you could see my email inbox, you’d know I love seeing what you all are up to too! lol

Have a great rest of the week and weekend!  ttul!

Steampunk Pipes Roses and Splendid Clarkia…

PamSparksSteampunkPipesRoses700

Hi everyone!  Something a little different…I love how the Steampunk Pipes grunged up!  Distressing with Distress Rusty Hinge and Black Soot inks and the ink blending tools.

Then it was what do I put with it! I decided to distress up the new English Rose Bouquet, Gearworks Border, Uppercase Alphabet Soup letters the same way and add them to the frame I made with the die cut pipes.

PamSparksSteampunkPipesRoseClose

I die cut everything from white card-stock, inked completely with Rusty Hinge and then Black Soot Distress inks.  The Rose Bouquet I die cut from white twice.  Inked the roses on one with Rusty Hinge and Black Soot and the other with Peeled Paint and Black Soot.

I pounced a Versamark pad on the pieces to hold the chunky embossing powder while it melted.

On the inside, I stamped a coordinating sentiment from the poppystamps Hope and Thanks clear stamp set. HOPING (on the front)… you have a terrific birthday (on the inside).

Very fun!  I think it’d make a cool man card too, without the Rose Bouquet… maybe just embossing the new clear stamps in the frame.

The next card I made back in February…another one that didn’t make it in the look book on time.  Link under the blog header…

A breathy, Spring-ish card for sure! A dash of this and a dash of that!  Love putting vellum behind butterflies!

The washi tape I put on card-stock first and then taped it on the card.  Six dies on that one A2 size card! lol   It looks busy in the photo but IRL, it’s really dimensional and pretty.

And pearls… oh how did we ever make cards without pearls! lol

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll be back Thursday with some Taylored Expressions Release Day cards!  TFL!

Memory Box cards, HELLO and more…

I have a bunch of cards I made a few months ago that were too late to get in the first Memory Box look book, so I’m going to start sharing them here before we’re on to another release!

* * * In case you haven’t noticed, I added a new TAB under the blog header with my photos of the cards I made for the first Memory Box look book…take a look!

PamSparksHelloFloralDot (1)

For this HELLO card, I stenciled the background on watercolor paper with Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks.

PamSparksArielNest2

I was inspired by Cindy’s fabulous card to make this nest in a tree card… at the time I took the photo, I didn’t have a stamp from MB to use but if I was to add a sentiment, I would use an alphabet set and stamp, “What’s Up?” or Hello!  Look around Cindy’s blog… so many gorgeous creations!

PamSparksGildedBirdcagePasteBkgrd2 (1)

One more bird idea…I’m bummed I can’t remember what I did here. ugh.  Too many cards since!  I know it’s regular embossing paste over a stencil.  Pretty sure I sprayed it with the color spray stuff.  Sorry about that.

I’m pretty sure I colored the branch die cut with markers…might’ve been Distress markers but it could’ve been Copics too!  I use both all the time!

I better quit for today! Memory Box overload!  Thanks for stopping by!  Holler if you have any questions and thanks for looking and commenting!  I appreciate it so much!  ttul!

Memory Box…a three card kind of a day!

 PamSparksAberdeenBranches700

Spring, flowers and Memory Box! Today I’m sharing three cards using more of the Spring collection for this year.

I used the NEW Aberdeen Branches die for my first card…die cut in green, then used scraps of yellow and orange to cut extra flowers and the butterfly.  Trim those cuts and glue in the centers to the green cut.

The sentiment is from the NEW poppystamps clear set ‘Into the Words‘.

I used a white Signo Broad gel pen on the little white flowers and Ranger White Enamel Accents to make the green ‘buds’ white.
