Spellbinders Bold Color Mix Numbers Cards…

Hi everyone!  Branching away from Christmas today! Birthdays keep coming and January is a busy month for our family when it comes to birthdays!  YAY! As long as it’s not mine! haha!

This is a 5 x 6 size card so I’ll be using an A7 envelope for it.  I tried some stitching for fun….just die cutting and a little stamping.

I used the betterpress dies to stamp the sentiment and th!  I liked the distress look I got doing that!  I taped the dies into the MISTI and inked them up. lol

I inked the edges of almost everything with Distress Gathered Twigs Ink and a mini ink blending tool.

The pattern paper is from the Doodlebug Design Sweetheart 6×6 paper pad.

Next card….

I hot foiled with the Better Press dies….I used the negative/leftover piece of foil from another project because I thought the polka dots would be fun.  But…whoa…what a challenge to get a picture!

It’s Silver foiling for the numbers and the sentiment.

I think I better order a Better Press kit for these solid dies.  I’ve been able to do it with the detail betterpress dies and my die cutting machine, following a video a gal put up on you tube but these solid ones I struggled with.

Still fun and a CAS card…much better IRL!

I absolutely love these numbers and the options for making fun celebratory cards!  I’ll link the sentiment set I wasn’t able to use yet below also…it’s cool too! So many good products and ideas out there to help us make awesome cards!

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my latest attempts at being creative! Talk to you again soon!  I have a couple cards to post that I mailed, I don’t want to post them until they receive them though.  I mailed them Tuesday.   ttul!

Memory Box Merry and Bright Candles Card…

Hi everyone!  It’s always a festive Christmas card when you can add in some poinsettias and pine!

I had fun using a bunch of products on this card and of course bringing in brown! lol

I started by cutting the candles in green and inking them with Distress Rustic Wilderness and the flames die cut in white and inked with Distress Mustard Seed.  I added some Copic E07 at the bottom of the ovals to look like fire.

After I pieced the candles together I spritzed them with Sparkle Spray…they are really shimmery in person…the dots aren’t so dotty looking IRL. lol  Left them to dry and worked on the background and poinsettias.

I used the NEW Pinecone and Berried 3D Embossing Folder for the background panel….after I embossed it, I inked it with Gathered Twigs and Walnut Stain Distress ink and ink blending brushes.  I spattered it with a gold spray by Heidi Swap but I don’t see it anywhere anymore.  Any gold ink would work.  I’ll link to the other one I use more.

I die cut the Memory Box Pine Branches die, clipped it apart and used half on each end.

I die cut the Petite Poinsettias die set and made 2 poinsettias to add on each end.

The sentiment is from the poppystamps Christmas Quotes stamp and die set.

I hope I remembered to include the pertinent details…if I didn’t comment or email.

haha!  I forgot to take a picture of the inside again!  I made the cardbase green, then I die cut one of the Rectangles from the NEW Memory Box Fringed Scalloped Frame Set in red cardstock and I stamped ‘Wishing you a Merry Christmas’ from the NEW Be Merry stamp set that I love so much!

Linking to some challenges…

Die Cut Divas – any holiday in the year

The Paper Funday November – anything goes with optional twist

Can You Handle the Pressure? – anything goes with embossing folder – optional

Memory Box Pinecone and Berries 3D Embossing Folder Merry Christmas Wave Card…

Hi everyone! Time to get really serious about getting Christmas cards made and ready to mail!  Preaching to myself for sure! lol

I was excited to use one of the NEW Memory Box 3D Embossing Folders for my card today.

I started out by inking the side,  flat area up, with Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink and then running it through the die cutting machine.

I used Canson Montval cold press watercolor paper.  I buy the BIG sheet from Hobby Lobby and then just cut a piece off of it when I need it.  I leave it out, in the way, so I remember to use it.  It’s my favorite watercolor paper.  The price is right too!  $3.29 for the piece… if I cut it up into 9×12, if I’m remembering right, you get 8 pieces!

I spritz one side of the paper very lightly before I put it in the inked up folder.

Then using regular distress ink and the mini ink blending tool, I went over the raised areas with Pine Needles on the pine, Peeled Paint on the leafy branches and Gathered Twigs on the pinecones.

I really like the look of this but it’s so much better in real life than a photo!

I die cut the NEW Drifting Snowflakes die and just used the flakes on my card.  I used the 3 sizes of dots it cuts out too.  I spattered with white ink but it didn’t show up very well.

I die cut the NEW Merry Christmas Wave in kraft and red cardstocks.  Another easy one to put together! I used scor-tape on the back so I could just lay the letters back in and they fit perfectly…EASY!  Love it!

A little bit of twine wrapped around the panel.  This ended up A6 size….a little extra! lol

I layered on red cardstock and then to a white cardbase.

For the inside I used a sentiment from the NEW Holiday Wishes stamp set.  If you only wanted one set with sentiments for the outside and the inside… here it is!

Linking to some challenges…

Can You Handle the Pressure? – anything goes with an embossing folder

Peace On Earth Christmas – anything goes Christmas

Memory Box Watchful Bird and More Card….

Hi everyone!  Another joy topped Christmas card to share today!  I LOVE this NEW Watchful Bird!  He fit right down in with some NEW Pine Branches and New Festive Holly dies!

Layered on top of the NEW Pinecone and Berries 3D Embossing Folder with natural linen cardstock, then the NEW Wavy Sheet Music die cut in black glossy cardstock.

Bello Joy is a NEW die also….die cut in two colors and with scor-tape on the back, layer in the letters…so much easier than gluing!  For the color here, I inked a piece of natural linen the same way I colored the bird’s back and die cut it.

A little bit of Gathered Twigs Distress Ink blended on with the mini blending tool.  It’s always out on my desk! hehe

I die cut the bird all in natural linen cardstock, then ink blended on color using my brushes that already had ink in them.  My regular distress red brush, then my oxide distress red brush, then a light brushing with my brown oxide brush.  No rhyme nor reason except for not wanting dark.  The head is solid Gathered Twigs regular distress with the mini ink blending tool.  The body lightly inked with the same.

Greenery die cut with the back two greens in the Memory Box Greenery Cardstock 6×6 pack and Earth Neutral 6×6 pack.  I inked the edges with Rustic Wilderness distress and a mini ink blending tool. Red for berries was a scrap.

I enjoyed creating this card!  Music is such a big part of the Christmas season for me.  I always love greenery!

This is an A2 size card.  I didn’t trim off the holly this time.  I normally mail in an A6 size envelope so it will fit ok like this.  You could easy trim it off though!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!  Links below if I’ve inspired you to get busy on Christmas cards. hoho   I’m trying to keep mine pretty flat-ish.  Sad the PO isn’t as card friendly as it used to be.

ok – ttul!

Spellbinders SimonHurley Tulip Trio Card…

Move over Hallmark here comes a 5 x 7 card!  haha  It’s really hard to trim down the large embossing folders sometimes and I needed the space for these wonderful tulips and sentiment!

I pretty much followed the color scheme on the packaging.  There are so many pretty tulips this time of year…how do you decide!

I die cut in color cardstock and then inked with Distress Oxide inks and the ink blending brushes. Very fun… I love how easy it is to use the oxides. They match up so well with most cardstocks.

Thinking of you is from the Simon Hurley Handwritten Sentiments set.  24 cutting dies…pretty much words for any occasion!  I used kraft and black cardstock thinking dirt! haha

We live close to one of the Dutch areas of Iowa.  Tulip Time is coming up in another week.  I hope there’s some tulips left!  Our grandchildren have been practicing for marching in the band, the Dutch dancing and marching with the homeschool group.  So I’m sure I’ll be going to watch it all!

I almost forgot!  My white background panel is the Simon Hurley Twirling tulips embossing folder.  So pretty.  Two cards using it back a few posts.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Enjoy the Tulips and or what flowers are you enjoying right now?!
