Memory Box Pinecone and Berries 3D Embossing Folder Merry Christmas Wave Card…

Hi everyone! Time to get really serious about getting Christmas cards made and ready to mail!  Preaching to myself for sure! lol

I was excited to use one of the NEW Memory Box 3D Embossing Folders for my card today.

I started out by inking the side,  flat area up, with Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink and then running it through the die cutting machine.

I used Canson Montval cold press watercolor paper.  I buy the BIG sheet from Hobby Lobby and then just cut a piece off of it when I need it.  I leave it out, in the way, so I remember to use it.  It’s my favorite watercolor paper.  The price is right too!  $3.29 for the piece… if I cut it up into 9×12, if I’m remembering right, you get 8 pieces!

I spritz one side of the paper very lightly before I put it in the inked up folder.

Then using regular distress ink and the mini ink blending tool, I went over the raised areas with Pine Needles on the pine, Peeled Paint on the leafy branches and Gathered Twigs on the pinecones.

I really like the look of this but it’s so much better in real life than a photo!

I die cut the NEW Drifting Snowflakes die and just used the flakes on my card.  I used the 3 sizes of dots it cuts out too.  I spattered with white ink but it didn’t show up very well.

I die cut the NEW Merry Christmas Wave in kraft and red cardstocks.  Another easy one to put together! I used scor-tape on the back so I could just lay the letters back in and they fit perfectly…EASY!  Love it!

A little bit of twine wrapped around the panel.  This ended up A6 size….a little extra! lol

I layered on red cardstock and then to a white cardbase.

For the inside I used a sentiment from the NEW Holiday Wishes stamp set.  If you only wanted one set with sentiments for the outside and the inside… here it is!

Memory Box Frosted Lantern, Pinecone Duo Card…

Hello and good Tuesday to you! Here I am back to share more Christmas inspiration today!  When I opened this NEW Memory Box paper pad and saw this plaid…swoon!  Then this foiled snowflake in the other NEW pad!  So much to love about these new 6×6 pads!

I started die cutting after I had a bit of a plan.  Using the A2 Rectangle Frames Die set I cut the papers.  I layered the smaller on the larger with the thin mounting tape I love!

I found some matching cardstock (matches better in real life) in the Lagoon and Greenery 6×6 cardstock pads from Memory Box.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the NEW Holiday Wishes stamp set.  There are two coordinating dies for two of the sentiments included in the set!   This is a neat set…sentiments for the front of the card and more sentiments for the inside!  I stamped one on the inside but I forgot to take a picture of it! ugh.  Go look at the set… I used It’s the most wonderful time of the year on the inside.  You can imagine it stamped in black on the white cardbase. lol

I used Bazzill Gold foil cardstock to cut the lantern.  I also cut it in white and kept the pieces in place with scor-tape on the back so I could have an ink blended background.   I used Iced Spruce Distress Oxide to ink the white.  I was happy with the match!

I die cut the NEW Pinecone Duo die twice from a darker green in the Greenery pad.

The pinecones are die cut from a piece of distress ink refill watercolored watercolor paper!  I love the variation in color in these watercolor pieces.  HERE‘s the video on creating these pieces…

The candle is colored with Copics.

An A2 size card, not too thick and ready to mail!

poppystamps Nordic Dancing Gnome and Large Mushroom House Be Merry Card…

Time for a cute card!  Something to make you think of cooler temperatures!  That’s how we’re feeling here in steamy Iowa! Can you say Summer?!

I had fun making these NEW poppystamps dies up…die cutting, inking, gluing, arranging and spattering.  Here’s the card! lol

I die cut the lower mushroom parts in kraft cardstock and inked with Gathered Twigs Regular Distress Ink and the mini ink blending tool.

The upper mushroom is die cut in white cardstock and inked with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide ink using an ink blending brush and aged with regular Gathered Twigs Distress ink and a mini ink blending tool. The smoke in white and inked with Hickory Smoke Oxide ink.

The trees and the gnome are all die cut in Neenah Classic Crest White cardstock and inked with Oxide inks and blending brushes….

hat with Peeled Paint (less pressure to get the lighter part)

flesh parts are Tattered Rose with a hint of Vintage Photo on the edges

trees are Rustic Wilderness with a little bit of white showing here and there and those spots inked with Peacock Feathers

Backgound panel is Neenah Classic Crest White inked with Peacock Feathers, spattered with water droplets, let it dry

be merry is die cut in white also, back layer inked with Peacock Feathers and spattered with water droplets also, white layer glued on top

Panel is glued to a 5 x 7 cardbase, mushroom house adhered with my favorite thin mounting tape, trees glued directly to the card, gnome and sentiment adhered with thin mounting tape.

Last step was spattering with white drawing ink.

His belt buckle is colored with a gel pen and I added a few clear fairy drops.

I hope he makes you smile!  It’s so cute!  A happy card that makes me happy too!

New Birch Press Design and Memory Box…

Hi friends and cardmakers!  It’s that time of year!  So exciting!  Lots of Christmas coming your way from Memory Box, Birch Press Design and poppystamps!

I started by die cutting the NEW BPD Classic Poinsettia Contour Layers and gluing it together.  I used some of the my watercolor papers to die cut the poinsettia and foliage.

I followed a video by Jill from Penny Black to make the watercolored panels that I die cut and used for the panels.  Video HERE.

I used the NEW Memory Box Fringed, Scalloped Frame die for the vintage light brown panel.  I used the thin mounting tape that I love to adhere it to the red background panel.

I die cut foliage from two more NEW BPD dies, Holly Sprig Contour Layers and Tiny Berries and Leaves Contour Layers.

I love the holly, pine branches and sticks.  Although I’m not sure they’re supposed to be sticks! lol

I chose to use the NEW BPD Peace Love Joy Confection Script die for the sentiment on this card.  I love the fine line and I know you’re thinking ugh about gluing it but you don’t have to!  The way it die cuts, the fine script fits back into the panel and you can just put little pieces of tape on the back to hold it in place, then glue it to the shadow die cut.  Here’s a picture that might help you see what I mean.

On the inside I used the NEW Memory Box Holiday Wishes stamp set.  Lots of great sentiments in this set!  And it comes with two dies to cut out the Sending Warmest Wishes and North Pole stamps.

I cut out some extra holly leaves from the scraps of my watercolored papers, in case I needed them around the poinsettia.  I didn’t so I glued them on the inside with the sentiment.  I stamped in Archival Potting Soil ink.

I have plenty of photos this time so I’ll just stick them in here.

It’s no surprise that I started the Christmas cardmaking season with the Poinsettia and greenery.  I do love these colors and the vintage look!

This is an A2 size card…holler if you have any questions!  I’m sure I forgot something!

Spellbinders Monthly Clubs…last day to sign up for June!

Here I am at the last minute and you still have time to get in on the June Clubs at Spellbinders! Sign up goes through today, the 27th!  Go HERE.

I’m using the Stencil of the Month Club on my card.  FIVE stencils in this set…3 for the beach balls and 2 to create a Summer scene!  BTW a one inch circle punch works to punch out the balls.  Hard to tell in my photos but I have two punched out and raised with thin mounting tape.

I used two Distress Oxide inks, Lumberjack Plaid and Prize Ribbon.  I also inked a piece of cardstock to make the background blue pieces.

SB All-Star Sentiments (half price right now!) and Simon Hurley Handwritten Sentiments (25% off right now!) for the message. Links below…

It turned out cute considering I had no idea where I was headed with it! lol

I ended up with two different color reds because I grabbed the pink blending brush to do the main red on the ball!  oops!  But it worked out because the small red circle die using the red brush gave me another red! lol

I’ll add this A2 size card to my stash of birthday cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out Spellbinders!  There’s always a great sale going on.  I love it!
