Deck the Halls for the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge…

Hello everyone! So fun to get back into coloring this week! This month is the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I will link up on Instagram but I wanted to share my card here too.

Christmas and holly, two of my favorite things!  The brown paper package this time is the brown paper Hero Arts die cut wood frame! I die cut it 3 times, glued them together to get the real ‘frame’ look.  Then I inked it all with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and the mini ink blending tool.

I gold heat embossed the A2 size cardbase with one of the stamps from My Favorite Things Distressed Panels stamp set.

The Holly and Merry Christmas are from Ellen Hutson’s Mondo Holly stamp set.  I gold embossed on Hot Press Watercolor paper and colored with Karin Brushmarkers. What awesome markers… full of ink and joy! lol  I just put a little ink down and pull it out to color in with a waterbrush. Let it dry, then do it again. I didn’t keep track of how many times I came back and colored again!  There’s just something about adding more color here and there. Yes, therapy!  Here’s a post I made on IG back in March showing the markers I used for this card. It’s so cool to be able to actually see the ink in the marker barrel!

I added mounting tape cut to fit on the backside of the holly and the sentiment.  The frame is glued directly to the cardbase.

It’s ready to head out the door one of these days.  I tell you, I get attached to these cards sometimes and it’s hard to let them go but I must! I’ve been sorting cards this week.  The spare bedroom is covered with cards.  I’m making progress but it sure doesn’t look like it! I would type ‘lol’ but it’s not funny!  I must do better at staying organized!

Here’s hoping you’ve had some creative days this week! There’s so much I want to make! I keep seeing more things I want to buy!  It’s dangerous out there gals! lol  As if you don’t already know. haha

oh dear, I’ll shut up…have a great weekend and I’ll catch up again with you soon!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

A few links for what I used…pssstttt…great gift ideas for oneself!  😀

Memory Box Snowflake Card Series Day Seven!

Welcome to Day Seven and final post of my 2019 Snowflake Card Series! It’s been a Winter Wonderland so to speak!

Today’s card pulls in the new Memory Box pattern paper 6×6 pads, Dashing Holiday and Dashing Dots and Stripes. Unique colors but a fun look…would you say vintage?

That pop of white…I don’t think I’ll ever see a snowflake again without thinking about how to use it on a card! lol

This is an A6 size card, still mails for one USA forever stamp though…good deal.  I used Red Berry Nuvo Drops on the berries.  Does anyone have any experience with how Nuvo drops hold up going through the postal machines?

I die cut 3 sets (for a total of 6 arches) of the new Memory Box Holly Arch dies in green.  Added the drops, let them dry, then just layered them and glued them onto a wreath shape that I die cut from two of the Memory Box Basic Circle dies set.  I didn’t try to ‘manage’ them into a certain pattern.

I really like this card… it’s not ultra fancy but not CAS either…middle of the road pretty card! lol

I hope I’ve inspired you through this series to make some snowflake/tis the season cards!

Ok – here’s the video of all 8 of the cards! A video of why we love to make cards… it brings us JOY and when we share with others, the JOY spills over!  So this JOY is for you!  ❤

Memory Box Snowflake Card Series Day Six…

Hi cardmakers and friends! Here we are on Day Six of this 2019 Snowflake Card Series!  Typing 2019 and thinking it’s November makes me say to myself, I am not ready for 2020!  I’m not ready for Christmas either! lol

I’m sharing two cards today…both CAS but a little bit technique-y!  ‘Collage’ and Inlaid die cutting anyway!

This first one is with the Starlight Snowflake Collage die… I think I overlooked it when it came out! :O I don’t remember using it but I forgot to search here, to see if it came up.

I saw a card on IG that I loved but I didn’t have a die that would do the cuts so it looked right.  While looking through dies, I found this one and tried it and fell in love with it’s pure CAS-ness.  Once again that pop of white!

Silent Night is from the Typewriter Holiday Sentiments clear stamp set.  I heat embossed it in white on the label that falls out of the new Antique Label die sets.

My next ‘blue’ card, I hope you can see.. the inlaid Bauble Snowflake Corner die and the inlaid Bauble Snowflake down in the right bottom corner. I think it will show for sure in the video tomorrow.

I die cut five of the Bauble Snowflake from the Bauble Snowflake Frame die set, glued them together and stuck a little silver brad in the center.  Oh yay!  One more brad used out of the million or so! haha  Then I glued that in the center of the inlaid Bauble Snowflake Corner die.

Before you think, NO WAY,  I’m here to tell you, inlaying this was very simple!  Just be sure you have a pick up tool!

Maybe you can see better in this close up.

The sentiment is from the Mistletoe Swag clear stamp set.

I did some spattering with white Gouache and a little white ink blended around to give the look of some snow flurries!

All this snowflake posting has made it cold here in Iowa!  I know, I’m rolling my eyes too. 😀

I’ll finish up and take myself off to bed!

Thank you so much for joining me here for Day Six!  I’ll see you again tomorrow…a festive card and the promised video! (nothing fancy)

Birch Press Design Snowflake Card Series Day Five…

Welcome back to Day Five of my 2019 Snowflake Card Series!  Today we’re going homespun with this look! Joy pretty much sums it up for me! I love this big splash of ‘snow’ in the center of my card! 😀

I die cut all three layers of the Birch Press Design Glitz Snowflake dies and glued them together.  It’s not hard to line them up at all!

I didn’t use any mounting tape, everything just glued or taped. yay!  Easy to mail!  This is an A2 size card but I would use an A6 size envelope, same cost to mail but that gives you room for the little bow at the top!

I stamped and heat embossed the words ‘to the world’ with white embossing powder on Taylored Expressions Oreo cardstock.  You have to be picky about black cardstock for embossing. Some brands just don’t work well.

A band of TE Cherry Pop across the center…the Big Joy Sugar Script die cut in TE Oreo and Toffee and start gluing.

The pattern paper is from my stash but there are stamps that stamp a similar pattern!  In fact I think there is one from poppystamps! I wish I’d thought of that while I was making! I’ll link it up. I linked to another buffalo plaid paper too.

I inked up all the paper edges and die cuts with Distress Ink Gathered Twigs and the mini Ink Blending tool.  I like the mini foam for edges when I don’t want a lot of ink everywhere.  So don’t toss those minis just because you bought the brushes!  😀

A fun card and really pretty much clean and simple.  A little May Arts jute tied around the top and tada!

Two more days to go!  Thank you so much for visiting my blog all week and I hope you will make it back for the next two days! It’s been so fun to share and to hear from you too! I’m smiling as I type this!  ❤

Memory Box Snowflake Card Series Day Four…

Welcome back to day four of my 2019 Snowflake Card Series!

Some more paper flakes from the new Jolly Snowflake Trio die today!

And yes, this is my favorite of the series so far! ❤  I suppose it’s the non-traditional colors with bright white, the perfect amount of black text and pure CAS-ness of it that makes me love it so much!  😀

Not much to tell, I didn’t even measure the strips!  I used the silver strip on the edge of the paper trimmer for the width.  I can measure though if you want to know, just holler!

I did layer the snowflakes, diecutting each of them three times.  I really like how it looks but you wouldn’t have to do that.

I stamped in the We R Memory Keepers Advanced Precision Platform stamping tool.  I really like this… because you stamp straight down, not flipping a lid over.  Ranger Archival Black ink and the new Merry and Bright Mistletoe clear stamp set for the sentiment.

I kept the circle waste from diecutting the flakes and glued them on randomly for snow!  Let it snow!

Taylored Expressions Premium cardstock for the colors here… Granny Smith, Confetti Cake and Cookie Monster. I love this cardstock.

Tomorrow’s card for the series goes a touch vintage…not too much…but kraft, red, black, white…not sure if it’s my next favorite or not! Then Friday’s cards, two on Friday….think Winter sky. Then Saturday, the last day, will be, well, I’m not finished with it yet! lol

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and series again today.  I’m having fun and I hope you are too!
