Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Release Blog Party…Happy Poinsettia Card

Click the logo to see the release!

Welcome to my blog party!  It’s the Christmas Spirit! Let the cardmaking begin!  Simon Says Stamp sent me their NEW Happy Poinsettia stamp set to play with…and after a day of stamping around the Christmas desk, I had a card! lol

So here’s the deal for this blog party…use the code when you click from my logo when you order and get this exclusive Rainbow Ink cube set free with a purchase of $30 or more!  I love these colors!

There are so many wonderful new products!  Just WOW!  It’s going to be a super fun month!

I started this card by stamping on glossy white cardstock!  Remember glossy cardstock?  I know, blast from the past but it worked for me!

There are coordinating dies for this stamp set but I don’t have them so I made do with the Scan and Cut…I’d rather have the dies so into the cart they go!

I heat embossed SSS Outline Merry Christmas Background on Black cardstock with white embossing powder. Trimmed it to be a panel on an A2 size cardbase.

I love the touch of drama black brings to a card!

I trimmed a strip of white glossy cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Happy Poinsettia stamp on it with Ranger Black Archival Ink. I glued it down flat.

I arranged the floral pieces and some of the leaves have a little foam mounting tape under them. I shaped them a little with my fingers…similar to how you do curling ribbon with a scissors but no scissors!

This is one of those cards I wish you could see in person!  I hope it inspires you to get making some Christmas cards too!

Thank you for stopping by today…have fun shopping and thank you for your comments too!  I appreciate it!

Bye for now…

3 Cards from Memory Box… Let It Snow!

Three cards, three pictures of each, three snowflakes or four!  ❤

I’ll start with this Clean and Simple one…still loving this blue green pine needle color!

Just a strip of Memory Box plaid with gold foil lines in it…

poppystamps Shiny Snowflakes again…

Memory Box Pointy Pine Needle Sprigs die and Let It Snow sentiment from Memory Box Spirit of Christmas stamp set.

Card size 5 ½ inches square.

Next one is another wreath…wreaths are always in season!

Same Let It Snow sentiment, same snowflakes but I went back to the new Memory Box Bountiful Wreath.  Die cut and inked with a little Distress ink.

Some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink brushed on to shadow the die cut.

This one is 5 ¼ inches square…

The last one is a statement in contrast for sure! 😀

Bold plaid from the Memory Box Christmas Plaid 6×6 pad…same sentiment…same snowflakes with the addition of Birch Press Design Frosty Flake Layer Die set…I used all three, A, B and C.

The day I was making these it snowed big time, then it didn’t snow the next day but it snowed again yesterday!  It’s nice and bright here! Now that I’m sitting here looking at the pictures, I kinda wish I’d tried black for the top, fine snowflake layer….hehe… next time!

Here it is January 2nd already.  It feels like we had three Saturdays this week!  Anybody else think that too?! lol

Thanks for stopping by today! All the best to you and happy cardmaking new year too!

Memory Box Pointy Pine Needle Sprigs and Pinecone Stackers Warm Wishes…

Hi everyone! Working on staying warm here…I made ‘let it snow’ cards yesterday while looking out the window watching a snowglobe snow!  So pretty! This one I made the day before and left it at ‘warm wishes’! ❤

I made the base for my wreath design with Two Knotted Circle Wreaths die cuts, the largest size.  I die cut them in lightweight cardboard and inked them with Gathered Twigs distress ink and mini ink blending tool.

Then I inked white cardstock with the new Rustic Wilderness Distress ink, I’ve been dying to use this new color and then die cut the Pointy Pine Needle Sprigs die 4 times. (2 sprigs in each cut for a total of 8)  Yes, yes, yes, just use green cardstock and it will speed up the process.  I wasn’t hurrying and was just enjoying playing around! hehe

I did ink a gathered twigs circle on a white cardstock panel for the background.  I spattered it with water droplets too.

I die cut and assembled the Pinecone Stackers die in lightweight cardboard also.  After die cutting, keep the pieces in the die and ink blend on the back side like you would a stencil to add the dark areas on the design.  Works awesome!  I love it!

After I glued everything together, I spattered with white acrylic paint.  I had to mask the little piece of red with the sentiment cuz I didn’t want a big splat of white landing on it!

I have three more Winter cards to share, then it’s get busy on NEW Memory Box, poppystamps and Birch Press Designs!  I’m still in denial that it’s time to move on!   I might have to sneak in Christmas/Winter with Birthday and Valentine for awhile still! hehe

Thank you for stopping by! We got a lot of snow but the sun’s out and keeping me warm!

Memory Box Bountiful Wreath and Knotted Diamond Background Card…

Hello! I’m still working away here! Maybe if I had an elf suit I’d be faster! hoho  I decided to bring out Dave’s napkin watercolor technique again and try out the new Distress Ink color.  I used the regular ink refill for painting this one.  I spritzed the napkin die cut first, then brushed in some color with a wet brush.  It was pretty strong full strength so I put a Brawny paper towel over the top to soak up some of the ink.  I wished I’d used a piece of watercolor paper because I loved the print I got!  So another way to use a die cut for a stamp! 😀  Who knew?!

What a gorgeous green!   This new color is Rustic Wilderness.

The ribbon is from my stash…the plaid is Memory Box Christmas Plaid 6×6 paper pad… beautiful patterns!

The new Knotted Diamond Background die is cut in gold metallic cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Memory Box Spirit of Christmas stamp set… love this one…fabulous sentiments and beautiful images to color!

I’m not going to panic…my cards are going to be late this year.  I ordered postage stamps online Nov. 30.  They finally shipped Dec. 9 from Kansas City, four hours from here.  They made it to Des Moines but they sent them to another town an hour away from me!  :O  They sat there a couple days, then were sent back to Des Moines where they’ve sat for who knows how many days it will be.  Des Moines is an hour away.  Lesson learned.  Just go to the PO and buy whatever they have in JULY!!!  I’m annoyed.. I have another USPS story too.  I bet we all have one or two! ugh

Thank you for stopping by!

Memory Box Snowy Forest 3D Embossing Folder…

I have two cards to share with you after playing around with this folder a couple days.  It’s very pretty!  I will show you the sparkly pics I took with my phone first! 😀

I inked the raised sky side with teal ink on this first one…after embossing I sprayed both cards with Sparkle spray.  Can you say shimmery?!

This one I inked with brown first, then green on the side where the trees are raised.  Pretty cool… it’s tricky keeping the ink off where you don’t want it but what I finally ended up doing was using a white Posca pen over the ink marks, letting it dry before I sprayed it with Sparkle spray and then the vellum heat embossed gold sentiment over the top… disguised and pretty!

Here’s some more pictures…I took too many…lol

Weird how the color changes laying down… same exact location as the standing up pictures!

Truly CAS cards after getting the hang of what you want the result to be.  It just dawned on me that I didn’t make a plain ole white one!  Oh… I will have to do that! Sprayed with Sparkle or Frost spray, it’ll be gorgeous!  YAY!  Easier yet! haha

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I feel like a fish out of water here.  Not keeping up with anything.  My heart is with all my friends out there and know I think about you and I am emailing you in my head and so thankful for you all!  Back to shopping… it’s fun this year…our older grands have ideas so it’s serious shopping and challenging!  More education for grandma and grandpa! lol
