Hi everybody! Hottest topic these days? yep, STILL the weather! lol Spring/Winter/Spring/Winter/Spring/Winter…keepin’ us guessing! As long as our new trees can handle it I’m ok! lol
So I’ve been playing with the stamp shammy on distress ink blending technique…not sure who came up with it but I bet it was somebody that made a beautiful ink blended background and then accidentally dropped their stamp shammy on it and magic happened! lol
I’ve made several with regular Distress ink but this one is Distress Oxide on Canson Smooth Bristol paper pad. Orange cover pad, be sure it says smooth. I started with Twisted Citron on the bottom, then Peacock Feathers with Broken China on the top/last. After you’re done blending on the color with your ink blending tools, use your damp stamp shammy bunched up to make a few folds in the wad and pounce it on your inky background!
Oh it’s fun! AND with the oxides, if you pounce on the darker and move to the lighter it transfers the ink and layers it on top… so cool…you can see it on the Twisted Citron here.
I die cut the Poppy Flowers with the same card and inked them with Oxides too. Candy Apple, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss. I did come back in with matching Distress Markers for the little dots in the petals and leaves.
I did water spattering on the background and the die cuts. I spray water (a puddle) into the palm of my hand, rub my hands together and clap over the pieces I want spattered. Not so many big blobs that way.
I die cut the panel with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die…then embossed the sentiment from Neat and Tangled, So Many Sentiments stamp set on a strip of vellum using the MISTI to stamp, white pigment ink pad and white super fine embossing powder.

Less Is More – Bring Something Back – vellum and embossing on it
This card is basically self explanatory! 😀 So very clean and simple but I like it! I die cut the Poppy Flowers dies and hello in white. Glued the flowers down flat with Lineco PVA glue in the Darice fine tip bottles. Well, first I die cut a red A2 size panel with the Memory Box Wrapped Stitch Rectangle die…jazzed it up a bit…knowing me, I would’ve liked it plain too! lol A few Doodlebug enamel dots, hello glued directly on black and then mounted to the card with thin mounting tape.
These Alexandra Renke dies are beautiful…wait until you click over and see all the other products! The washi tape is to die for and the pattern paper is just gorgeous! Beautiful floral and other designs… check it all out HERE. Fun to change things up now and then. hehe
OH… I said ‘more’ up there in the title didn’t I?! I almost forgot! I have a sweet silhouette card to share that is perfectly Spring!
This is the Alexandra Renke Panorama Easter Girl die…I really think you could use it any time of year though, don’t you? I just die cut her and her chicks in black, mounted her with thin foam mounting tape to an ink blended textured watercolor paper and spattered it up!

I’ll leave you with this wish for a happy Spring. I’m a realist…reality is that Spring ain’t all it’s cracked up to be! lol So we’ll just keep making our pretty cards and pretending that Spring isn’t a wet mess! If the sun comes out…HURRY and take advantage of it! lol
