Memory Box Shining Star Ornament/Tag and poppystamps Whittle Fireplace Card…

Hi everyone! I have a vintage looking ornament or use it as a tag to share first today.

I started by covering a piece of natural cardstock with the NEW Memory Box Twas the Night Wide Washi Tape and then die cutting the piece with the largest star die from the NEW Memory Box Shining Star die set. I die cut another star the same color and glued them together with a gold cord sandwiched between for hanging.

Then I inked it all over with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and the mini ink blending tool. The tape kinda resisted it but it did color it enough to suit me.

I took my Krylon 18K Gold paint pen and went around the edges of the star with it.

I die cut the poppystamps Home For The Holidays wreath die in green cardstock and edged it with the same ink, Added Nuvo Red Berry drops to the berries and when they were dry went back with a little Ranger Christmas Stickles over the top.

I die cut the Memory Box Merry Christmas Noted Script dies from Gold metallic cardstock twice and glued them together.

Glue everything together and then spatter with gold ink.  I used the Heidi Swapp Gold Spray this time. Add a bow!

Next up, a Whittle card…

A few words of encouragement for the season… we need it! lol

I hope this Monday finds you ‘hanging in there’! eek! It’s a busy time of year!

Here I did some die cutting, inking (same gathered twigs Distress ink, it’s always on my desk), a little Copic coloring on the bricks, Nuvo drops on the berries and gluing!  Oh, I masked off the area inside the fireplace and ink blended Black Soot Oxide on the cardbase and spattered it… oops. it got everywhere and you can’t even tell I spattered the area I wanted spattered! lol

Santa’s cute…maybe he’s praying! lol  He’s in a situation!

A smile to start your Monday. A cute card for Christmas!

Thanks for stopping by! I have two more cards done ready to share.  I need to make some birthday cards this week! ok – bye!

Two Winter Cards for Fun and Check out this Sale!

Hi everyone! I’ve had these cards done for awhile…a little playing around therapy with older stamps and dies.  I’m not sure what is still available or not so I’m not linking to anything except the stores, Starlitstudio and the sale going on at Scrapbook.com where there’s tons of new stuff and old stuff both places to choose from to make Winter/Christmas scenes!  I know Lawn Fawn has a flying Santa stamp, in fact that’s what I was looking for and wouldn’t you know I found it later. ugh.  Yes, it’s true, we spend half our time looking…shopping our own stash! lol

Pretty straight forward… emboss a snow background in white on dark blue cardstock.  Die cut a circle in it. Stamp a sentiment on a piece of black and white emboss it.  Diecut the house scene in white cardstock.  Stamp the santa in the circle on the white cardbase.  Stick it all together!

Card number two…

This is dark blue cardstock to but it looks black…

Three diecut layers, sprayed with Sparkle spray…

Be sure to click on the pictures to see them large!

I hope you’re inspired to go make some sparkly Winter creations with what you own or can buy!

You know Starlitstudio.net is a one stop shop for all things Memory Box/poppystamps don’t you? hehe

Deck the Halls for the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge…

Hello everyone! So fun to get back into coloring this week! This month is the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I will link up on Instagram but I wanted to share my card here too.

Christmas and holly, two of my favorite things!  The brown paper package this time is the brown paper Hero Arts die cut wood frame! I die cut it 3 times, glued them together to get the real ‘frame’ look.  Then I inked it all with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and the mini ink blending tool.

I gold heat embossed the A2 size cardbase with one of the stamps from My Favorite Things Distressed Panels stamp set.

The Holly and Merry Christmas are from Ellen Hutson’s Mondo Holly stamp set.  I gold embossed on Hot Press Watercolor paper and colored with Karin Brushmarkers. What awesome markers… full of ink and joy! lol  I just put a little ink down and pull it out to color in with a waterbrush. Let it dry, then do it again. I didn’t keep track of how many times I came back and colored again!  There’s just something about adding more color here and there. Yes, therapy!  Here’s a post I made on IG back in March showing the markers I used for this card. It’s so cool to be able to actually see the ink in the marker barrel!

I added mounting tape cut to fit on the backside of the holly and the sentiment.  The frame is glued directly to the cardbase.

It’s ready to head out the door one of these days.  I tell you, I get attached to these cards sometimes and it’s hard to let them go but I must! I’ve been sorting cards this week.  The spare bedroom is covered with cards.  I’m making progress but it sure doesn’t look like it! I would type ‘lol’ but it’s not funny!  I must do better at staying organized!

Here’s hoping you’ve had some creative days this week! There’s so much I want to make! I keep seeing more things I want to buy!  It’s dangerous out there gals! lol  As if you don’t already know. haha

oh dear, I’ll shut up…have a great weekend and I’ll catch up again with you soon!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

poppystamps Holiday Mistletoe and Die Cutting Napkin Technique…

Have you tried the Napkin Die Cutting Technique yet?  I’m still loving it!  You can see Memory Box Dave demoing it HERE in this video.  So fun! Our area stamp club had it’s annual Christmas party Friday and this is the MITI I had them make.  I think they enjoyed it! 😀

So pretty showcased in this new poppystamps Double Scallop Oval die.

I just added the die cut letters for JOY from a MB alphabet set and the festive ribbon and it was done.

The frame is popped up with mounting tape. The leaves have mounting tape behind each one cut to fit.

The only thing I did different than Dave is, I used green cardstock for the back of my mistletoe die cuts.

That’s it for today!  I’m recovering from a card crazy week last week!  I have more ready to share though!  Just need to take pictures!

Keep on truckin’ I mean card makin’!  Hope you all are having a creative month too! With a little shopping thrown in. hehe  I just placed an order…oh my…we tend to inspire each other to shop! lol

Take care and talk again soon!

Memory Box Snowflake Card Series Day Seven!

Welcome to Day Seven and final post of my 2019 Snowflake Card Series! It’s been a Winter Wonderland so to speak!

Today’s card pulls in the new Memory Box pattern paper 6×6 pads, Dashing Holiday and Dashing Dots and Stripes. Unique colors but a fun look…would you say vintage?

That pop of white…I don’t think I’ll ever see a snowflake again without thinking about how to use it on a card! lol

This is an A6 size card, still mails for one USA forever stamp though…good deal.  I used Red Berry Nuvo Drops on the berries.  Does anyone have any experience with how Nuvo drops hold up going through the postal machines?

I die cut 3 sets (for a total of 6 arches) of the new Memory Box Holly Arch dies in green.  Added the drops, let them dry, then just layered them and glued them onto a wreath shape that I die cut from two of the Memory Box Basic Circle dies set.  I didn’t try to ‘manage’ them into a certain pattern.

I really like this card… it’s not ultra fancy but not CAS either…middle of the road pretty card! lol

I hope I’ve inspired you through this series to make some snowflake/tis the season cards!

Ok – here’s the video of all 8 of the cards! A video of why we love to make cards… it brings us JOY and when we share with others, the JOY spills over!  So this JOY is for you!  ❤

Click HERE to watch it full frame, it’s so much better BIG!  (it’s two minutes and four seconds long)

See you again soon!
