poppystamps Sending Scribbles Birthday Wreath card…

Last week I was playing around with stamps to make wreaths. I die cut a 3 ¾ inch circle, stuck the negative in the MISTI, marked the area where the first image kinda landed and then I kept moving my inner circle focal piece around to stamp the complete wreath.

Here’s a picture that might possibly live up to the saying, a picture is worth a thousand words! lol

I did have to mask off part of one to fill in a space.

I colored/painted the flowers with Distress Oxide inks. I don’t know that I would use this ink to color very often. It tends to cover the black line you stamped if you’re not careful.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I used the coordinating die set to cut out the word sending. I did use the thin mounting tape behind the die cut word. Another set I love!

A little Lawn Fawn Trimmings twine and some black Nuvo drops and the piece was pretty much done. I cut a black piece of card-stock to 4 x 5 ¼ inch and mounted it to a top folding A2 card-base.

This card I stamped it the same way in the MISTI with the circle template I made but I stamped it so the black lines touched. There was a little bit of space left at the bottom so I punched a couple 1/8th inch holes, added a piece of ribbon and tied a bow.

This one I colored with Zig Clean Color Brush pens doing wet on wet. You can see what happens with that in the close up below! lol It flows! No artist here! lol

I didn’t use a very good quality watercolor paper…just use the good stuff Pam! haha

The sentiment is from a neat Memory Box set called Prayers Sentiments…I really like how you can put the words together to say what you want. There are several of these small sets. Good deal! ok – I’ll shut up!

Memory Box Painted Flower Stems…

Hi everyone! I’m sure this Spring is finding you hustling to get stuff done! That’s the way it is here anyway. I think I told you that we lost 3 trees Nov. 6, 2107. They were in what the city calls their right a way, so they cut them down… Emerald Ash bore. Sob. So it’s been crazy trying to figure out and find replacement trees! We did it though and now have 3 new trees that we paid big bucks for in what they consider their property. sigh. oh well… gotta have trees! Shade!!! Cuz HOT is coming! lol

I did get some cards made to share here though! yay!

This one is using the new Memory Box Painted Flower Stems die... I went CAS (clean and simple) again… die cut in watercolor paper and used Zig Watercolor brush markers. Do you remember Memory Box Dave’s watercolor dip video? Thinking this die would be fun for that technique too! True, you could do this up a million ways! lol and for a lot of occasions!

I went with sympathy this time because I need to get some in my stash. The sentiment I used is from the poppystamps Peony Stems and Blossoms set. Love this set! I stamped it in the MISTI with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. That’s my go to black right now.

Hobby Lobby watercolor paper for the cardbase and die cut. I just ink blended on some Distress ink in the background. I think it was Broken China. Then spattered on some of the watered down Zig color that I scribbled on my craft mat.

I did use the thin mounting tape that I link to below, to adhere the die cut. Placing it behind the flowers and the base.

Memory Box Spring Bunnies Card…

Happy Spring! The rain has started so the flowers will be popping up and the bunnies will be hopping! I fell in love with the bunny with the scarf though and I love the carrots in this set! SO CUTE!

I did some regular Distress Ink blending with the mini ink blending tools using Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron and spattering with water for the background.

The fence is from the Fanciful Fences Memory Box die set and the Oval is from the Stitched Oval Layers die set but the Studio Oval Layers die set would work too.

Colored with Copic Sketch Markers… E40’s, YR10’s, YG20’s.

I stamped the sentiments from the set with the MISTI stamping tool using Ranger Jet Black Archival ink.

A card sure to bring smiles…and bring on a carrot binging snack! lol

poppystamps Garden Bouquet Birthday card…

Hi everyone! This card is meant to wake you up! Who needs coffee when you have all this color in your face! lol I’m still using up the brayered background pieces we made at stamp club Friday before last. This one is from the Desert Heat Kaleidacolor ink pad.

I die cut the panel with one of the Memory Box Wrapped Stitch Rectangles dies.

I die cut poppystamps Garden Bouquet die in Neenah 110# Solar White card-stock. I put pieces of mounting tape cut to size, behind the flowers and stuck it to the panel.

I made the flower centers on a separate piece of release type paper with Black Nuvo Drops, then glued them to the flower centers when they were dry.

I stamped Birthday Wishes on the panel using the MISTI stamping tool using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. For some reason I got tired of Versafine Onyx Black and am loving the black of this Archival pad right now.

Birthday Wishes and Sending are both from the same poppystamps Sending Scribbles clear stamp set and die set. I love how the sending die cuts! I stamped it first with the MISTI and the same black stamp pad, then die cut it.

I mounted sending to the panel with foam mounting tape and then the panel to the card-base with the same mounting tape.

A fun cheery card and a great way to use all those rainbow pads we have stashed away in our drawers! 😀

Memory Box Floral Bloom Oval Frame Twofer!

Welcome to my blog today! So happy with this color combo for this Spring, sure to cheer you colors, card today.

I ink blended regular Distress inks with the mini ink blending tools using Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac, Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio on Hobby Lobby Masterstouch watercolor cardstock.

I seem to be using the mini pads the most these days and I put the ink on my craft mat, spritzed it with water and spattered the card with the same four colors.

I made the white enamel dots with Nuvo drops…and added a Memory Box butterfly. I changed out the cap on my white and black Nuvo drops to the Darice Ultrafine tips that I link to below and use for the PVA glue also. Work much better for me.

I die cut the Memory Box Floral Bloom Oval Frame die twice, gluing them together cuz I just like them that thick sometimes!

Next card…because I want to enter the Twofer Card Challenge. (I didn’t realize I was supposed to photograph the cards together until the post was done, I’ll do better next time! )

Here I used some of Lawn Fawn’s plaid papers…I know…wild when you mix them up this much! Kinda unusual for me to put 3 plaids together… it’s much softer looking in person. Good thing! lol

I adhered the oval to the cardbase with mounting tape.

I left the ‘parts’ in and glued the plaid pieces over the top…it’s almost tulip time… well, another month for Iowa! lol Maybe I should say it’s always tulip time somewhere!

Oh, I wanted to try out the new poppystamps Pointed Rectangle Frames on this card too… I like how it finishes off a card.

The happy birthday sentiment is from the clear set Birthday Sentiments, inked with Lawn Fawn ink in the MISTI stamping too.
