Tilda’s Town Challenge… Name Your Technique!

Time for Tilda!  Tailor Tilda that is!  I love this image… sewing has always been near and dear to my heart and   our 3 daughters like to sew and even a couple of the granddaughters are sewing already!  So FUN!  I’m sure if I hadn’t found stamping in 1994,  I’d still be sewing my heart out!

I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink,  masked her with eclipse tape and used my stamp a ma jig to position the school desk.  Colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  The Magnolia Kurbitz corner is stamped with Broken China ink… 2nd generation stamping.  October Afternoon pattern paper… think it’s the Thrift Shop pad.

My techniques for today’s card are masking, distressing with the Tim Holtz paper distresser and distress ink and ink blending tool, stitching with the sewing machine and embellishing die cuts.  I used the Tim Holtz sewing border die.  I cut it out of mirror card-stock and kraft card-stock… trimmed off the different pieces and layered them up.  Wound buttonhole thread around the spool a couple times.   The sentiment is an old Hero arts stamp… love it!

Enjoy the inspiration and challenge over on the Tilda’s Town Challenges blog, HERE.  The TT Design Team gals do an awesome job creating fabulous cards for you to enjoy… drop in and we’d love to hear from  you too!  Hope you can play in the Name Your Technique Challege!

Happy stamping and stitching!  See you again soon!

CCDesigns…A Little Bit of Magic Fairy and Sentiments

A fairy step card for you today!  oh what fun coloring these dinky little fairies from Sweet November… scroll down to my post from yesterday to see another card using this new kit!

I stamped using my stamp a ma jig for positioning… video under the tutorial tab above.  Papertrey Ink card-stock and Hammermill.  I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers.  The sentiments are stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink… the best stuff on the market for stamping sentiments… so clean and crisp… be sure to allow time for it to dry though… a few minutes at least.  I used the stamp a ma jig to position on the banner die cuts… how to in the same video.  I used the Versafine cube ink pad to just ink up part of the sentiment for the loving wishes.  I love all the stuff you can do with a handy, dandy stamp a ma jig!

Copic colors I used..

Dresses, BV 11, 13, 15 – YG 01, 03, 05 – R81, 83, 85 – B000, 01, 02
Hair,  C’s – E50, YR31, 21, 23, 26 – E30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37 – E97, 08, 18, 19

Bloomin’ … using a stamp-a-ma-jig

Fabulous NEW stamps from Printworks Collection, HERE!  I stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Printworks stamp pads/ink.  Squeeze the lid to pool the ink on the lid making the lid the paint palette.  Pick up the ink with a wet paint brush and color away… the trick for me is… how much water to use! eek!  I need to practice more!

The inside… a wonderful New PW sentiment honoring Mother’s! (I added the flower, its from PW too)

Here’s a 3 min. video on how I masked and positioned the images together….

Let a leaf be your umbrella on a rainy day…

Another month of Swiss Pixie adorable-ness!  This is beautiful Rainy Day Birgitta… sweet, sweet, sweet… keeping dry under her leaf umbrella!  Birgitta is illustrated by Christine Wooden for her stamp line CC Designs. I stamped Birgitta with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Promarkers.

I’m sure you’re dying to know about the new dies I’m showing today!!!  Well… I’m dying to tell YOU!  Aren’t they awesome?!!!  Awhile back Christine asked the Design Team gals on our forum what ideas we had for dies!  Guess what I asked for… hehe.. yep… a flower border!  I couldn’t be happier!  It’s totally charming!

The Grass border is separate from the Flower border and then there is the Fence… purely fun! I will make a video on how I shaped it for dimension. Easy, I promise and the video will be short! I stamped the fence with a woodgrain stamp… so cool and then inked the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink and the ink blending tool. I added some copic colored grass to the grass border die cut and some copic pink to the flowers in the flower border… I did do some paper piecing to the dies also… yep… true love… I ❤ these dies!

The Happy Spring Words and Hello sentiments are from a new for this month AmyR Stamps sentiment set called So Wordy…. cool name even and fun fonts too!  The flowers I used in the word border are from the NEW Watering Can Logos set we’ll be showing tomorrow… I know… I got a head… just a bit! hehe   I used my trusty ‘ole stamp a ma jig to do the word/flower border… no pattern paper was harmed in making of this card!  Oh,  there are two flower stamps…one solid and one outline… cool… more stamping!

The die cut clouds are CC Designs Cutters cloud dies.  I also cut one of the top one to use as a mask to make a cloud background. Following Tracy’s tutorial on the ATS blog,  HERE… only I reversed it… used blue paper and white distress stain!  I really liked it when I was done too… there is always that chance, it’ll be a bomb ‘ya know… so happy when it isn’t! hehe   Always fun to try something different anyway!

Thank you for visiting…

Sweet Stamping Pixies Challenge #1 – Spring…

So excited to tell you about a brand NEW Challenge blog created by Jay Jay from Germany for Pixie and Fairy images!  Sweet Stamping Pixies Challenge blog is HERE and we’d love to have you link up with your Pixie and Fairy images.  It’s once a month… the second Monday with THREE awesome stores sponsoring the challenges!  You’ll want to play along each month for a chance to win!  This month’s theme is Spring!

I decided to use this Swiss Pixies Butterfly Nora and the Swiss Pixies Wheelbarrow for our first post.  I LOVE her!  I was looking back through my blog and saw this one that I’d made in April of 2010 and I just wanted to post it again! lol  I stamped Butterfly Nora first,  masked her and then stamped the wheelbarrow… just like my tutorial in the April 2010 post.

I used the Five Point Flower,  die cut one layer and for the centers I did a swirl thing with some lightweight paper cord stuff I picked up at JoAnns last year and glued it on … I’m pretty tickled with how it turned out… just clever I thought!   Don’t you love it when you amaze yourself!  I know,  quit laughing… I can be pretty cheesy!  Gotta admit… it’s fun for a change! = )

Then there is a brand NEW Butterfly die this month called Wings from CC Designs… and a cool Wings stamp set to match it!  I just used the die for this card but the stamp set has mega potential for fun creating!  They’re in the store HERE.

oooh… long post today…one more picture and I’m off to make a card for tomorrow’s Tuesday Review… OH,  I should tell you to make time to go to All That Scraps blog too!!!  Lesa has a tutorial for us today and you’ll want to bookmark it because it’s on die-cutting your stamped images… pretty cool!  AND easy too!  You’ll need it for your Wings stamp set and die! Check it out!

I was just at the store… HERE… tons of new product… If you need to shop…I know a good place! lol

Thanks for dropping in to find out about the new challenge blog on the “block”!!!   Happy Stamping and talk to you soon!
