Marianne Design NEW dies…Merry Christmas!

My card today has some new, newer and older Marianne Design dies on it!  Once I get started… I end up with my 3 magnetic folders out and go to town!   Guess what die the curtain is???

Did you guess?   oh,  I’ll tell you!  It’s the top of the newest heart die!  I love the dainty open scallops all around the heart… then there are smaller hearts and a beautiful snowflake die in the set too.

The very newest dies are the candle and the tree dies. (I put links below but I don’t see them in this store yet) Tree die???  Well… I cut the tree up after I die cut it and embossed it and used it to make the window frame!   It sands up so nice with the Tim Holtz sanding block!  I used Coredinations and Bazzill card-stocks so the embossing and sanding really show up.  I did edge the pieces all with the ink blending tool and Distress inks also. (Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain and Antique Linen)

HERE is my video on deep embossing…

A little bit of stardust stickles on the candle and the center of the poinsettia.

The poinsettia is an older die set…love the embossing.  I did use the flower center from the mini poinsettia set though.  The holly leaves are from the holly wreath set.  The pine branch was a new die last year.  I used a stylus and mouse pad for the line down the center of the branches.  Then I used the ticket die and the Merry Christmas words.

The stitch lines are stamped on with this clear set that I love and Walnut Stain Distress ink… link below.  It is discontinued but I googled and found it… I’ve never ordered from here before but the price is great!

I used my Perfect Paper Layering Tools to create the mats.  The paper is from the Dec. 25th paper pad by Kaisercraft… last year.

Holler if you have any questions…email tab under the header picture.  Oh, to color the flame… I used the ink blending tool and Distress ink pads… lightly (sparingly) added Mustard Seed first,  then a little wild honey and then a teeny bit of Fired Brick.

Marianne Design…Passport to adventure

Silhouettes are so popular right now… I love them all so every once in awhile I have to try my hand at using them again!

I used a variety of Marianne Design products…
The travel/map papers are from Marianne’s Pretty Paper Bloc – Vintage Journey HERE
or preorder HERE
I used two dies, the Creatables die – Lord and Lady HERE or preorder HERE and the Craftables die – Lacy Rectangle and flower HERE or preorder HERE. (I cut the rectangle die down and just used the center part of it)
Stamps are from a Vintage stamp set called Journey CS0585 HERE.

I did the usual… antique linen and walnut stain distress inks on all the pieces… applied with the ink blending tool.  Perfect Layers Tools to cut the mats… the sentiment is from an old PSX travel set…. I wish they were still around!  It’s weird not to color but fun for a change too!

Magnolia…Tilda’s Town Shabby Chic Challenge…

It’s Tilda’s Town Challenge day and my week to play.   The challenge is…Shabby Chic!  I love collecting stuff to do shabby chic but it’s challenging to me… coming up with a balance and yet some feeling of collage type designing too!

This is Secret Tilda… A Christmas image from the Merry Little Christmas Collection.  She’s in stock HERE!

Tilda’s Town is an awesome place to shop!  Free shipping world-wide and discounts by order amount too!  Love that!

I used a NEW Marianne Design Heart die… LOVE the dainty scallop border… more heart shapes in the set too… and a snowflake!  Check it out HERE.

Tilda is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers. I started out with her pants, colored gray T3 all over… then I colored over that with R35, then pulled in R37 and R39 for the creases. The shirt and bow I colored gray T1 on first and then did the reds the same way as the pants.

I used some pattern paper from an old collection by Cosmo Cricket called Wonderland.  Flowers by Prima… buttons from SEI…seam binding is hug snug I colored with Copic Various refills…Border die is Edwin Lace, link below.

Today’s TIP!  I machine stitched around the panels on this card.  I finished pulling the ends to the back side and taped them down… turned them over and it hit me… I didn’t change the thread color!  UGH!   White isn’t very shabby chic… so I used the brush tip of a copic marker, E51 to match this paper and just pulled it along the thread!  YEA!  Sometimes a gal has to be so creative! lol

Thanks for stopping by and hope you can play along in this week’s Shabby Chic Challenge HERE @ Tilda’s Town Challenges!

(I just realized that when you load a video to You Tube they make it fit their window and it cuts off parts of the top and bottom.  Wish I’d realized this sooner… hope you can still get an idea of what I did)

This was so fun to make!  ttul!

Relax….another boat!

*****

I’ve never been in a sailboat so I don’t know if it’s relaxing or not!  I’ve been in several fishing boats and as long as I have a book… it’s relaxing! hehe

This is a Marianne Design Sailboat die, Classic Boats… if you live close to me… the Craft and Hobby Shop in Ottumwa can get it for you!  Online,  check it out HERE.  I embossed it while the cut piece was still in the die…then turned it over and with the ink blending tool I inked it with Distress inks, Brushed Corduroy and Tumbled Glass.  White Distress Stain and white pen on the tips of the waves and torn water card-stock.

The “sun”  so to speak is a stamp from a clear stamp set that Alice made me buy! OK,  she didn’t make me but when she pointed out the potential I grabbed it quick!  I am so glad she did!  It’s called Time Traveler by Tattered Angels… it’s been a couple years but I keep my stamps!  I might need them someday and sure enough… I’m always glad I have them!  There’s that Fiskars wave border punch again!

Linking up to Stretch My Stamps post by Virginia  HERE.  I just used part of the month/date circle stamp and then I used it for a sun instead of what it was meant for!  I love it!

The little seashell is from CC Designs NEW for Summer Sugarplums Beach kit!  LOVE it!  The word “RELAX” is from a CC Designs NEW for June Oh So Beachy Sentiments set… on the inside it says, “it’s your day!”

I’m going to use this for my swap card this afternoon at stamp club.  Glad Carolyn picked this theme because I needed to use this boat stuff!  So guess what… I’m on a boat kick… a couple more to use!  oh no! hahahahaha

I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest and I’ve been making badges for Tilda’s Town Challenges with the polaroid look… very fun!  Have a sailin’ good weekend!
