Magnolia – Edwin Hiking…

Hi everyone!  The new challenge for this week at Tilda’s Town, HERE, is to ‘create an Autumn scene’.   Well,  I have lots of new stuff that needs used!  So I had to get out this new Tall Tree die I’ve had since the end of May and use it!  I used watercolor paper for all of this card.

This photos shows the side step folding and layering.  I couldn’t find a Magnolia grass die to link to,  so I linked up to a couple other grass dies that will work well for scenes too!

I have to tell you about a new store I’ll be linking to a lot!  I’m so excited about the extensive lines they carry and I think you’ll like it too!  All the stuff I use and love!

Over 90,000 products in stock, ready to ship!  When you shop through my links,  I’ll receive credit to keep buying new stamps and supplies to share here on my blog!   I really appreciate it because I love to stamp and share!

The Scrapping Center has tons of stamps!  Inky Impressions,  Stampendous, Hero Arts, Stampavie, Art Impressions, Magnolia, Stamping Bella and I could go on and on!  Dies too!  Pull down under papercrafting to die-cutting…. I could shop all day!!!

Back to Hiking Edwin… what a handsome guy!  I watercolored all of the images and the die cuts with Distress inks.  I linked to the colors I used below.   Don’t you love Walter the moose?  Cuter than cute.  Although I’m sure he’s yukky IRL! lol   You’ll find these new Magnolia stamps from the Turning Leaves collection at TildasTown.com HERE!  Awesome service… free shipping no matter how big your order… discounts the more you buy!  I love it when an order comes fast!

I cut the watercolor paper 8.5 x 5.5 in.,  then made the side steps.  The first step is 3/4 in, the second is 1 in. and the back one is  2  1/2 in.

I couldn’t find the birds on the sign stamp to link to… I don’t know the name either.  If you want to know holler and I can research some more later.  I used my stamp a ma jig to stamp the words on the sign… it’s an old Hero Arts stamp… lots of stamps would work on a sign!

Magnolia…Tilda’s Town Challenges… Anything Goes!

Friday is always a new challenge @ Tilda’s Town Challenges blog, HERE!  This week it’s Anything Goes… a fun and popular theme!   We’re enjoying a new baby boy in the family!  Next month we’ll be enjoying another newborn!  So when I opened my drawer and pulled out a Stufftainer and saw these stamps that I hadn’t used yet… bingo!

I used Magnolia Tilda’s Family and Welcome to a Lovely Home stamps.  You’ll find them @ Tilda’s Town.com, HERE and HERE.   I colored them with Distress Ink Reinkers on Canson Manga Pad (last in the list in the link below).

It was fun trying Distress Ink Reinker coloring again…
I used Tattered Rose and vintage Photo for skin…
her hair is Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain…
his hair is Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain…
her dress and shoes are a mix of Dried Marigold, Tattered Rose and Spun Sugar…
the baby’s clothes are Broken China…
his shirt is Faded Jeans…
vest is Peeled Paint…
jeans are Frayed Burlap…
shoes are Walnut Stain.

The pattern papers are from Graphic 45’s Little Darling 8×8 paper pad. I edged all the papers with Antique Linen Distress ink and the ink blending tool.  I used Spellbinders Labels One sets… the largest is from the Grand set.  Seam binding ribbon is from Hug Snug and the button is from SEI.

Magnolia…Tilda’s Town Shabby Chic Challenge…

It’s Tilda’s Town Challenge day and my week to play.   The challenge is…Shabby Chic!  I love collecting stuff to do shabby chic but it’s challenging to me… coming up with a balance and yet some feeling of collage type designing too!

This is Secret Tilda… A Christmas image from the Merry Little Christmas Collection.  She’s in stock HERE!

Tilda’s Town is an awesome place to shop!  Free shipping world-wide and discounts by order amount too!  Love that!

I used a NEW Marianne Design Heart die… LOVE the dainty scallop border… more heart shapes in the set too… and a snowflake!  Check it out HERE.

Tilda is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers. I started out with her pants, colored gray T3 all over… then I colored over that with R35, then pulled in R37 and R39 for the creases. The shirt and bow I colored gray T1 on first and then did the reds the same way as the pants.

I used some pattern paper from an old collection by Cosmo Cricket called Wonderland.  Flowers by Prima… buttons from SEI…seam binding is hug snug I colored with Copic Various refills…Border die is Edwin Lace, link below.

Today’s TIP!  I machine stitched around the panels on this card.  I finished pulling the ends to the back side and taped them down… turned them over and it hit me… I didn’t change the thread color!  UGH!   White isn’t very shabby chic… so I used the brush tip of a copic marker, E51 to match this paper and just pulled it along the thread!  YEA!  Sometimes a gal has to be so creative! lol

Thanks for stopping by and hope you can play along in this week’s Shabby Chic Challenge HERE @ Tilda’s Town Challenges!

Tilda’s Town Challenge… Name Your Technique!

Time for Tilda!  Tailor Tilda that is!  I love this image… sewing has always been near and dear to my heart and   our 3 daughters like to sew and even a couple of the granddaughters are sewing already!  So FUN!  I’m sure if I hadn’t found stamping in 1994,  I’d still be sewing my heart out!

I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink,  masked her with eclipse tape and used my stamp a ma jig to position the school desk.  Colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  The Magnolia Kurbitz corner is stamped with Broken China ink… 2nd generation stamping.  October Afternoon pattern paper… think it’s the Thrift Shop pad.

My techniques for today’s card are masking, distressing with the Tim Holtz paper distresser and distress ink and ink blending tool, stitching with the sewing machine and embellishing die cuts.  I used the Tim Holtz sewing border die.  I cut it out of mirror card-stock and kraft card-stock… trimmed off the different pieces and layered them up.  Wound buttonhole thread around the spool a couple times.   The sentiment is an old Hero arts stamp… love it!

Enjoy the inspiration and challenge over on the Tilda’s Town Challenges blog, HERE.  The TT Design Team gals do an awesome job creating fabulous cards for you to enjoy… drop in and we’d love to hear from  you too!  Hope you can play in the Name Your Technique Challege!

Happy stamping and stitching!  See you again soon!

What a cute kid!  Edwin and his big tennies just make a gal smile!  Right now he’s Edwin in Miami… I’ve never been to Florida!  Do I need to go there?  I’m not a fan of swimming or relaxing even.. unless it’s reading a book!  If there were stamp stores to visit…hehe

This is my card for Tilda’s Town Challenges this week… create a card for a man or boy and use Edwin!

I used a Sweet Stop Sketches Sketch #165

Nestabilities label die and don’t ‘ya love the layers… perfect layers tools are so awesome for creating layers…HERE’S my video where I’m showing how they work…. be sure you use a full size Xacto knife/craft knife!

Super cute little puffy stickers from EK Success.

I used Broken China and Antique linen Distress inks and the ink blending tool to add color to the background while the cut was still in the die.  I leave the cut in the die and flip it over and go around the edge with my embossing stylus to deepen the embossing… I show how to do this type of embossing while in the die in this video HERE.
