The Cutest “Group” EVER!!!

Time for the October Release and Preview Days at All That Scraps!!!  Christine has illustrated the cutest, sweetest new images for Christmas in her Swiss Pixies line… this one called the “Group” and another “Baby Jesus and Angel”.  You can see the ATS Design Team creations for today on the ATS blog, HERE.  We’re also previewing some of the new dies from CC Designs Cutters line… the 5 Point Flower die and the Leaves die.  I AM SO EXCITED TO HAVE THIS LEAVES DIE!  It is a pair of leaf branches – NOT just ONE but a pair!  I love that I don’t have to flip one over to have it go the other direction!  I told Christine this and she did it for me!!!  and YOU too!  Hurrah!  Two awesome sentiment sets…Amy R Stamps for Christmas!  oooooohhhhh….love how they work together… I used them on this card too!

THE BEST THING is today the whole release is in the store HERE!!!  YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT!  Sorry for yelling in caps but it’s so exciting!!!  You are going to want them all…hehe   The DT will be showing more tomorrow and Wednesday also…I do LOVE Christmas but I think you probably already knew that about me!

Here’s a close up of the 5 Point Flower and Leaves dies…

I colored these images with distress ink refills and used the Christmas pad from Authentique!  Stitched it on the sewing machine,  I use heavier thread so it shows up better.  I drew in the z looking trim on his cap with a copic multiliner pen.

Have a great Monday and have fun lookin’ and shoppin’!   ttul

Haa Haa! What a character, so cute with her tongue sticking out!

CC Designs August release preview today is the new Cling mount, rubber stamp, Happy Birthday sentiment set… FIVE very cool, hip and fun to use sentiments that complement the Laugh Lines images wonderfully!   I stamped Bee Laugh with Versafine Onyx Black ink on 140# watercolor paper and painted her with Distress ink refills.  Face – tattered rose and vintage photo, Hair – antique linen, vintage photo and walnut stain,  Bee suit – mustard, black soot, vintage photo, Grass – brushed corduroy, peeled paint, Sky – weathered wood. I edged the card with vintage photo distress ink and the ink blending tool.  Sentiments are stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink also… love that ink!  Cancellation stamps are from the CC Designs Butterflies postage set.  Parenthesis are cut with a CC Cutters die,  I used the medium size here.  Awwww… the tape… Smash tape from K & Co.!  I bought mine at the LSS in Ottumwa, IA, Craft and Hobby Connection!  Lisa and Jeremy carry a HUGE inventory of CC Designs rubber stamps too!!!  ❤

On the inside I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the new set…love it!

Ice Cream Birgitta soaking up the sun!

How about another take on our beloved easel card!

Here’s a little 2 minute video on how I scored and folded the pieces…very easy!

I used Ice Cream Birgitta from the June, CC Designs, Swiss Pixies release.  I stamped her on heavy cold press watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored her with distress inks.  Made a little beach for her with the Fiskars wave border punch,  the Martha Stewart rickety fence border punch and the EK Success sandcastle/beach border punch.  Oh,  I do LOVE punches!  I punched the wave punch out of white cardstock and inked it with Faded Jeans Distress ink and the ink blending tool… then came back and added white accents with a white gel pen.  The puffy little flower stickers here and there are from K & Co.  I purchased them at an independent scrapbook store in Des Moines.  Filmstrips are so fun for embellishing and this new mini die from My Favorite Things is awesome!  love it!  I punched little fishies out of the pattern paper and stuck them behind the open areas.  The small easel is pattern paper I cut up from a 6×6 sheet from the Fancy Pants Beach pad.  Super cute papers for Summer acitivities.

Here’s how the easels fold down, flat, to fit into an envelope…

Just the front…

NEW stamps and more stuff in the store at All That Scraps… HERE…the new Tomboy stamps are sure cute!

Tilda with Straw Hat…

She is so precious!  I love her… wish I had time to take my photos over though… just didn’t quite capture her charm! boohoo! I will forever be trying to get better photos! ugh!

This is Tilda with Straw Hat from the Butterfly Dreams Collection!  I colored her with Distress ink refills on cold press watercolor paper.  The pattern papers are from the Stella Rose line from My Minds Eye called Mabel… they just…go together!  EASY! gotta love that!  whew!

I used the new Lacy Oval Nestabilites die to frame her and back stitched between the loops… can you see it? I also hand stitched and I’ll tell you what I’ve learned from trying this a few times now.  I emailed some bloggers but didn’t get replies or else their products weren’t in the USA.  So I will share what I’ve found from trial and error as you’ll see here!!! haha! I love to sew and hand sew.  It’s just therapeutic I guess.

  • Finally found the thread I like… Coats and Clark Button/Carpet thread.
  • pierce your holes with the needle you’re going to sew with,  then your holes won’t be so huge!
  • figure out the size of your paper with the ruler/tool you are going to use that has the holes guide for piercing in it… notice here that I didn’t do this and I have extra holes in a few places and had to cut my layers down…all of life is education…that’s my excuse and I’m stickin’ to it! : )
  • the other trick is keeping the pierced holes straight… gotta work on that! haha  But,  you’ll notice on commercially made items that their stitching isn’t always perfect either,  so go w/the charm of crooked! lol

To dye the seam binding,  I was in a hurry,  so I just cut off 3 yards (yes, I cheated and measured the nose to stretched out arm length way),  laid the cut length on my craft mat in a loose scattered pile and started pouncing on it with my Rusty Hinge Distress ink pad.  After I had ink pretty much on most of it,  I spritzed it with water to blend the ink but leaving dark and light areas.  Not sopping wet though.  Squashed it in a plastic bag to get it good and wrinkled.  Pulled it out and dried it with my heat tool.  Worked great!
