Paper Smooches Best Buds Flower card…

Here’s that second card I had the gals make at our stamp club party Friday.  I colored this one at home though with Distress Ink refills.

At the party, I had the gals use Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils and the blue waterbrush filled with water from this set HERE. These waterbrushes are really cheap but they hold up really well.  I buy them for the kids and end up using them myself! lol

The photo below is a close up of the watercolor pencil one.

Very fun to color…love this sweet image from Paper Smooches Best Buds stamp set  HERE or HERE.  I don’t own the dies so I cut it with the My Favorite Things Inside and Out Rounded Rectangles Stax. If you want the dies to match, they are HERE.

The polka dot border is from the Geo-Graphic stamp set and the thanks sentiment is from the Sentiment Sampler stamp set HERE and HERE.

I stamped with Taylored Expressions Oreo Black ink and used Crafter’s Companion Watercolor paper.

Neat and Tangled Merry Bear Birthday Card…

pam-sparks-charleys-2nd-b-day-flat

Look at this adorable little snowman! It’s family birthday time again and our youngest grandson is turning two tomorrow!  Where does the time go?!

I wanted to play in the NBUS challenge with the option of color pencil on kraft.  I love how this almost looks like wood!

I stamped with the MISTI, colored with pencil, then went back and using the MISTI again, I left the stamps where they were, inked with black pigment embossing ink, stamped them and heat embossed them with black powder.

So many times when you color with pencils you lose the strong black line.  We used to do this years ago when Stampa Rosa had the House Mouse stamps. We would stamp them their stamp positioner, color them with Tombow markers and then come back and emboss them over the top of the marker coloring.  Amazing the difference.

Next time I am going to color the image right in the MISTI without moving the card-stock.  There was enough ‘user error’ this time that I had to stamp the bear a few times and ended up with a thicker black line then the stamp really has. grrr   Still cute though!

Hopefully we’ll get some snow for his birthday!  haha  It’s been a weird, rainy Winter for Iowa.  Not used to dark and dreary.  It’s usually bright with snow!  I’m sure we’ll get those Winters again.

Printworks Collection Fall Cards…

pam-sparks-lives-full-of-t-giving

I’m back with two more cards using pieces from that full sheet of leaf watercoloring that I did a couple weeks ago. THIS post tells what I did.

Here I die cut a piece of card-stock with the Memory Box Pinpoint Circle Layers dies, stamped and embossed the new Printworks sentiment, ‘Let our Lives‘ in gold embossing powder and embellished with a poppystamps  Oak Leaf Swirl die cut.

Inside I stamped and heat embossed in gold…the new ‘with warmest thoughts and Best Wishes stamp.

For this next card, I cut the piece of leaf background down to fit behind this Avery Elle Pierced Rectangle dies frame that I was able to die cut easily because I haven’t clipped the dies apart yet.

Don’t shoot me. ugh. This poppystamps Maple Leaf isn’t showing up in the stores I usually link to!  So sorry about that. I didn’t realize it was a bit older and didn’t check first. Bummer cuz the little leaf border really worked up fun like this I thought. Hopefully you already own it! hehe (or google it)

On the inside I stamped another new sentiment from Printworks ‘Thankful‘.  I love it, there are places to add a little coloring!

The little 3mm gold pearls I used are HERE.

Both of these cards are A2 size.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge…

pam-sparks-scarecrow-sunny-days

Hi everyone! What a week!  Beautiful days until Friday. Then BAM blustery Friday arrived! lol  I have a few Fall cards to post so I better get to it! and plenty more Christmas coming too!

I’ve been tempted for some time to get the color pencils out again, so with the Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge I finally did!  So fun…coloring is always time consuming but I need to do this more so I get the ‘feel’ for it.  This was kinda an experiment! lol

I got a new pencil sharpener…wow…what a difference it makes for coloring! It’s a Dahle 133…you can google and find it.

I use Bruynzeel Fullcolor Pencils made in Holland but you can’t get them anymore.  Sakura bought out Bruyzeel and changed them I’m sure…one thing I know, my set of 120 is no more.  They are wonderful pencils to color with though and maybe they’d show up on ebay!  I didn’t check. Here’s what mine look like…and look at the lead on the yellow pencil… yes, that sharpener!!!

The pencils they have now are called Bruynzeel Design.  I’ll link up to them below just in case you want to order a couple to try. I love doing that. I have tried several brands and consequently I want ALL the pencils. HELP! lol

I love this cutie stamp and die set from MFT stamps…I hope he made you smile on this blustery weekend!

I’m going to write another blog post so I’ll have one tomorrow and Monday too…for sure!

Thanks for stopping by!  I’m behind replying to comments because we had our area stamp club Christmas party yesterday! Whew, I went crazy getting ready for it. lol Cards and soup!  A fun time for sure and guess what?!  We drew names for gift exchange and the gal that got my name knew I loved this stamp that she got last year and she gave it to me this year!  It’s an older Memory Box Santa stamp!  I’m so delighted to have it!  Our middle daughter has a collection of older cute Memory Box stamps.  I need to take a picture of them and share it here.  Then you can be jealous of her collection with me! lol

Thanks again – you are the best!  I am so thankful for all my friends that live in my computer and out! You’re the best!  ( ) ( ) ( )  (those are hugs)
