Sugar ‘n Spice Marci…

Another cupcake kind of day!  Marci’s been in the kitchen!  This is Sugar ‘n Spice Marci from La-la Land Crafts, in the store at All That Scraps.com, HERE. So cute and fun to color!

I colored Marci with the E50’s series of copic sketch markers… skin E50, 51, 53… dress,  hair, shoes, cupcake E53, 55, 57, 59. No other colors or pencils or anything.  I used a piece of some old 9×9 Tim Holtz pattern paper… I have a bunch of all the patterns if anyone wants to buy some… I’ll make you a good deal! lol  The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp.  I distressed the edges with the Tim Holtz distressing tool and then edged with Vintage Photo Distress ink (Antique Linen on the words first and then VP) HERE and the Ink Blending tool HERE.   Stapled around with Tim’s tiny attacher.  Some EK Success punches, the flower and border…the leaves are the SU bird/branch punch and the cord through the flower is that paper cord from JoAnn’s.  Hope I didn’t forget anything.

I’m linking up to two challenge blogs…

What’s NEW at the store???  Christine has added Penny Black, HERE!  And the new Bildmalarna’s are so cute, HERE… I have three to color up… I need to quit reading and sleeping!  : )

Have a wonderful Sunday! Thanks for stopping by!  ttul

Magnolia, Tilda with Heart Lace and Twisted Easel tutorial…

I had to try my hand at another twisted easel card.

Here’s a close up of this cutie Tilda… she makes me smile!

Tilda with Heart Lace is from the NEW, You Are So Special Collection.  I also used the Happy Birthday stamp, the Mini Zig Zag and Scalloped Lace die,  the Romantic Lace die and the Romantic Lace Tag all from that same NEW collection. I also used the Doohickey’s Swirl die.

How I made this Twisted Easel Card…

  • first I made the 6×6 card front, colored the image, layered it up, etc

  • then the card base as follows in the photos below…

  • now you will score your “in half” fold and your diagonal with your bone folder so you have nice, sharp folds and it will look like the next photo
  • decorate the base so it holds your easel in place when it’s open.  Oh and I should say the card folds flat for mailing!  cool!

The Martha Stewart Score board is awesome!  I love the 1/8 in. marks all the way across and I love making my own 6×6 envelopes.   The pattern paper is from a Basic Grey 6×6 paper pad… the orange card-stock is from Stampin Up… it really is orange/pumpkin, not red.  I used Copic Sketch Markers to color Tilda… skin is E000, 00, 01, 21,  hair is E50, 51, 53, 55, 57,  dress is BV0000, 000, 00, 01, 02, 04,  shadowed a little with C00 and C1.  oh her shoes are E43, 44, 47 and the grass is a crazy mess of greens!!! lol

Have FUN with this “twist” on the Easel card!!!  ttul!

Twisted Easel Doohickey’s flower/tag card…

The second Friday afternoon of the month is our area stamp club meeting…an awesome group of ladies/stampers that I’ve met with for years and they truly are dear friends!  I thought it’d be fun to try the twisted easel card,  so this is what we made yesterday!  Pink,  yes, pink and dark pink,  NOT red!  I hate it that cameras don’t capture true colors but think pink when you look at these pictures! lol

This photo shows the card closed… you can mail it in a 5×7 envelope the way I made it,  that way it’s ok that the butterfly and flower stick off a little because they will be in the envelope the 7 in. way! yea!

Here’s what I did after checking out the You Tubes, blogs and SCS for ideas.

  • one piece of 8.5 x 11 card-stock cut to 5 x 10
  • with a Martha Stewart score board, score that piece in half and then the top half score a diagonal and it doesn’t really matter from which corner because it can sit either direction.  ***My diagonal goes from the “in half” score up to the top left corner and the top right triangle formed from scoring is the triangle I decorated***

  • I used Magnolia Doohickey’s Dies, Doily Flowers, Foliage, Tilda’s Lace, Vintage Tag,  Lacey Circles and Circles Nestabilities, (the eyelet circles would be cool too!). Layer the circles together like the picture. The NEW Doohickey’s dies would be awesome also.
  • I cut a 4 3/4 in. square diagonally and layered it up on the triangle that I decorated… it dawned on my when I was taking the photo of the top of the card that I could have used the other leftover triangle too… boo! lol
  • I used two of the large doohickey’s flowers and one of the smaller to create the center-ish pink flower… just one smaller for the accent flower in the bottom corner.  I push in on the center of each petal while folding down the outside edges to shape the petals for dimension.
  • cut two of the foliage doohickey’s die,  keep in mind what direction you want them to lie when you are cutting them out if your card-stock is textured…
  • the Tilda’s Lace border I cut from pink card-stock and then ran it through the crimper a few times to give it a ruffly feel… love that… saw that on one of the You Tubes about this card.  So many wonderful creative people out there! love that they share so freely! YEA and thank you!
  • Hero Arts pearls
  • ribbon
  • I did edge the tag with Antique Linen Distress ink and the ink blending tool
  • The sentiment is from Printworks HERE C2607 “Heart that Holds”  ***REMEMBER – free shipping offer on $20 or more through the 14th… HURRY and get your order in!!!  More info HERE.
  • The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and I can’t remember where I purchased it. Possibly online direct from EK Success.

I’m linking to the following challenges…

Tilda with Heart…

Queen of hearts… Tilda is such a cutie!  I’m loving this new collection as I’m sure you are too!!!  I used Tilda With Heart from the new You Are So Special die collection .. You’ll ❤ them too!

I also used the Magnolia Doohickey’s dies, Doily Flowers, Tilda’s Lace and Bon voyage Foliage.

Tilda was inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink , stamped on Beckett Expression Super-smooth 80# card-stock and colored with Copic Sketch markers.  I used E50, 51, 53, 37, 57, 59 on her hair, RV91, 93, 95, 99 on her dress and socks, for her skin I used E000, 00, 01, 21 with R20 and 22 for the blush,  shoes are E43, 44, 47, 49, ground W0, 1, 3, 5 and the heart is R22, 24, 27, 29, 59.  I inked the edge of the rectangle with Antique Linen Distress ink  and the ink blending tool. Rectangle and Heart nestabilities dies.  Lasting Impressions buttons, Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon, paper cord from JoAnns, My Minds Eye pattern paper and I used the crimper on the die cut border after I cut it,  hard to tell in my photo because the paper is striped but it’s really cool IRL!

Here’s a close up of Tilda all ready for Valentine’s Day!

ATS Feb. Preview – Day 3…

Brown paper packages tied up with string….my favorite things!

Today the ATS DT gals are previewing the new Little Tag Set and Coordinating Die from CC Designs, HERE on the ATS blog. I made a present/box shaped card. When you lift the top flap, the front folds down and you see the inside of the present.

I used the tag stamps, the birthday sentiments, the flower stamp, the tag die and hole reinforcement die from this new set. Cool!

The February release will be in the store, HERE, February 7th!  I’ll post and remind you! lol  I used Kraft card-stock (usually get mine at Hobby Lobby or JoAnns),  Riding Hood Red SU card-stock, the floral pattern paper is from a 4×4 pack of paper by Jenni Bowlin, the ribbon is from SU and the brown kraft paper cord is from JoAnns.  The sentiments and tag frames are stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and edged with Van Dyke Brown ink by Ranger that is discontinued now…hope they add this color back in one of their lines soon… it’s my fave brown for edging things!

Two pieces of card-stock both scored and folded evenly in half make up this card. I use the Martha Stewart Score Board, HERE.   I cut one piece 5 3/4 in. x 11 in. and the other 4 in. x 6 in. This card has the fold at the bottom instead of the top for the main part (box) of the present.  The box “lid” is scored and folded with the long fold horizontally and then adhered to the larger bottom part of the “box”.  Hope you can tell how it goes together from the picture.  I am going to do this again… it was fun! : )  Holler if you have any questions!

WOW!  Can’t believe it’s Friday already!  Have a great weekend and I’ll see you later!  ‘preciate you stopping by… so glad you do!!!
