Two Memory Box Perched Bird Die Cards…

Hi everyone…so many times we need a thinking of you card…when words aren’t enough, maybe a simple thinking of you card will help. Tragedy comes to everyone and when you can’t be there, a card is something tangible we can do.

This card is so CAS (clean and simple), truly lives up to the name and for once didn’t take any time to make!

I doubt that it even needs any explanation! I did use a little foam mounting tape under the bird. The white die cut is glued directly to the A2 card base.

I stamped Thinking of You from the poppystamps Picnic Plaid clear stamp set in the MISTI with Archival black ink. I’ll link everything up at the bottom of the post.

Then I die cut the Perched Bird again from Mixed Media card and watercolored it with Zig Real Brush Pens. The frame from the Splendid Rose Frame the same.

The sentiment this time is from the Memory Box Big and Little Words clear stamp set, stamped in the MISTI with Archival black ink.

I added some twine to doll it up a bit…

See that blue-ish vase in the picture? My daughter was going to toss it! I love it! lol It’s ceramic…perfect picture prop for this card! lol

I finished up a couple birthday cards for boys. I love how this one turned out.

The backgrounds here are the 2nd and 3rd generation prints from my smooshed background I used for the flower card in my last post!

I stamped and Copic colored on Strathmore Mixed Media cardstock this time. I don’t know why but I liked it fine for coloring. It’s fun to try something different now and then. lol

I stamped the sentiments with Ranger Archival Black ink. I forgot to color the rocket! oh well, maybe Rogan will color it when he gets it! lol

It was fun… years ago I made this type style in card size and ATC size. I should’ve found the ATC size and taken a picture of it! Wonder how long that would’ve taken… lol The collection is so huge from the years I made and swapped. So many treasures!

Memory Box Small Fringed Peony, Scribble Leafy Branch Thank You Card…

HELLO!!! Bright card today! No sunshine here today except on this card! lol

I tried using a Gel Plate for the Smooshed Background on this card. I put drops of Distress Ink refills on the plate, spritzed it with water and then laid the piece of watercolor paper in it and smooshed! Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Peacock Feathers are the colors I used. Added spatters with the extra ink.

I die cut the NEW Memory Box Small Fringed Peony from three Bazzill Card Shoppe Cardstock colors and pieced them into a white cut. Then I die cut two more of just the white and glued them on top and liked it better.

I went in with some color pencils for some shadows on the flower petals. Just enough colorbook therapy to make me happy!

I die cut the new Memory Box Scribble Leafy Branch Background in Bazzill Cardshoppe cardstock and the Scribble Leafy Branch Outline in White cardstock. Layered and glued them together.

I stamped and embossed the images from the new Memory Box Big and Little Words clear stamp set. I used the MISTI and Gold Embossing Powder.

I added three Doodlebug pearls…sequins might’ve been fun too!

Memory Box Antique Garden Label Birthday Card…

Hi cardmakers and friends! I’m making my way through the new Memory Box release.

Today I revisited my Embedding Technique… it’s one of my faves for this type of die! My video explaining the process is HERE. When I made the video though, we weren’t using as heavy a cardstock as we do now. Today I used Canson Smooth Bristol in the orange cover pad. I did it just like the video except that I ran it through my Big Shot and then back.

So cool, I just love the ease of adhering the die this way and the bit of dimension that looks so professional!

Some distress oxide inking on the Memory Box Wrapped Stitch Rectangles die cut panel. (die cut and ink this panel before you embed the die cut to it) I used Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Twisted Citron.

I spattered with water, white paint, spiced marmalade Distress Ink refill and twisted citron Distress Ink refill.

I die cut another panel with the Memory Box Wrapped Scalloped Rectangle and mounted the inked panel to it with mounting tape.

Then adhered it to an A2 card base.

I stamped a sentiment in the Label opening with the MISTI and the Archival Distress Spiced Marmalade Ink pad. The sentiment is from the poppystamps Birthday Blowout clear stamp set.

I added a few matte enamel dots. I like it! lol Sunshiny, Summery colors!

Simon Says Stamp Sketched Flowers Card…

Hi everyone! A floral card with a big thanks to share with you today.

I stamped this beautiful floral image from SSS Sketched Flowers clear stamp set with Archival Black ink in the MISTI on watercolor paper.

I used the most amazing markers to watercolor with! Have you heard of the Karin Markers? They’re from Poland. Just WOW! So cool! I was so surprised and delighted when the pkg arrived at my front door! A birthday present for me?! YES! From an awesome friend!!! 😀 Best Birthday ever!!! 😀

They are awesome markers for lettering too. I’m still working on that… practice, practice!

I spattered and after everything was dry, I die cut the word ‘thanks’ from Altenew’s lower case alphabet set right out of the colored floral piece! :O

That took a couple weeks for me to get up the nerve! lol No big deal after all. haha whew!

I added mounting tape to the back of each of the letters and placed them back in after I backed the piece with black cardstock.

I’ve seen a lot of cardmakers do this and have always loved it. So glad I finally did it! The simple ‘with heartfelt’ is from a Memory Box clear stamp set.
