Cupcake Rosie is singing Happy Birthday dear Kristine!!! Today is La-la Land Design Team member Kristine Breach’s birthday! In honor of the Birthday Girl we decided to throw a little on-line party – Blog Hop! All of our Designers made a card for Kristine with Birthday Wishes. I’m joining the Basic Grey Challenge blog with this card –  a sketch by Martine.

Cupcake Rosie is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah classic crest supersmooth 80# card-stock and colored with copic sketch markers, (photo at the end of the post).  I used Basic Grey Sugar Rush pattern paper, Zva pearl flourish,  EK retro flower punches in med and small and punches from the Punch Bunch for the rest of the little floral bouquet.  I used clear glaze pen on the cherry…love that…I tried it on her eyes…ick,  don’t like that! lol

Thanks so much for joining us today on the Birthday Hop!

The Challenge this week at All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge blogis to create a Tri-fold Shutter card.  There is just something about manipulating paper that draws me right in!  Love it! If you want to take a peek at my first tri-fold shutter card for one of our Grandson’s birthdays last Summer,  click here.  It’s CUTE!  Course I’m biased! lol

For my Tri-fold Shutter card with Miss Rosalie with Roses I added three pop-up/out hearts.  I haven’t seen this done anywhere and it worked out really fun…look closely and you can see them….cool.  I kept the embellishments at a minimum,  which is kinda my nature!  bah!  Quit laughing at me!  ok – there aren’t any!!!  lol  I’m counting the paper hearts…so there! lol  I love this heart punch from Stampin Up. There is a stamp set that matches the punch and I meant to get it out and stamp them before I punched,  but I forgot again! bummer…I guess I got ahead of myself! lol  The sentiment stamps are from Printworks…my all time favorite for sentiment stamps! Inked with Versafine Onyx black ink.

Sweet Miss Rosalie with Roses is stamped on Neenah Classic Crest supersmooth card-stock with Memento Tuxedo Black inkand colored with copic sketch markers (photo below).  I used my Nestabilitiesoval dies – three sizes…  Sugar Rush Basic Grey pattern paper…great stuff! I inked all the cut paper pieces with Antique Linen Distress inkand my Ink blending tool.  My scor-it board for the folds,  dug out my old Fiskars trimmer for the cuts.

Another picture, the card closed…

The inside…

Visit the La-la Land Weekly Wednesday Challenge blog to see what the other Design Team members created.  I sure had fun…I love to stamp and use stamps…I’ll post a list of what I used.

  • Princess Rosie from La-la Land Crafts
  • Dreams from Printworks, F2857 (I divided the stamp again,  used my stamp a ma jig, I can’t stamp without it!) Inked and stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink.
  • Castle from Whipper Snapper, EY825
  • Flourish border from Sandylion, KSTP15 Borders 2, clear stamp set. Inked and stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink.
  • Magnolia grass and clouds background stamp, inked with distress inks, peeled paint and broken china.  I inked and stamped the grass first and then the clouds because I wanted more space between the earth and sky!  I filled in the grass with peeled paint and the ink blending tool.

So many fun challenge blogs out there!  I keep finding more,  so I’ll be linking this card to these challenges…

Thanks for stopping by….later this morning I’ll be posting for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog…so…see ya real soon!  We’re doing Tri-shutter cards today….fun!

Tilda Blowing Hearts…

TildaBlowingHearts2Feb10

I’m so hoping to get Valentines done this week to send to our Grandchildren…not sure it will happen but I want to! I stamped Tilda Blowing Hearts with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Supersmooth Classic Crest 80# card-stock and colored her with Copic sketch markers. (I had her face colored nicely yesterday and then today, I thought I could improve on it and yukked it up! boohoo!  I guess it doesn’t really work to come back 18 hours later and start re-coloring. I get tired of education some-times,  don’t you?!!!  I used the Copic clear Spica glitter pen on her wings. I cut my Bazzill card-stock to 5.5 x 11 in. and scored it at the half mark with my scor-it board.
I stamped on Eclipse tape and then cut inside the lines to create a mask to cover her so I could stamp the Love Heart background over the top of her. I created flowers with the Nellie Snellen flower punch and embosser small size. The stamen is an old Family Treasures punch. Quickutz scroll dies from a Revolution 4×4 die. The red border is a new Martha Stewart scallop heart border punch and the older doily lace border punch on the bottom. I cut the Tilda image out with the Nestabilities label four set, the largest one. The black piece I traced around the die and hand-cut it…not hard at all…but I love to cut!
I’m entering this in some challenges…

Thanks for coming by! Happy Stamping!

Queen of Hearts….

is preachin’, “Chocolate: It’s not just for Breakfast….and I couldn’t agree more!!!  The Challenge on ATS Weekly Wednesday Challenge blog this week is to create something you could use for Valentine packaging. I used an Accucut heart box die that is just the right size for my Green and Blacks organic 70% Dark Chocolate bar.  Amazing chocolate,  my fave!
