Hi everyone! I’m sure this Spring is finding you hustling to get stuff done! That’s the way it is here anyway. I think I told you that we lost 3 trees Nov. 6, 2107. They were in what the city calls their right a way, so they cut them down… Emerald Ash bore. Sob. So it’s been crazy trying to figure out and find replacement trees! We did it though and now have 3 new trees that we paid big bucks for in what they consider their property. sigh. oh well… gotta have trees! Shade!!! Cuz HOT is coming! lol
I did get some cards made to share here though! yay!
This one is using the new Memory Box Painted Flower Stems die... I went CAS (clean and simple) again… die cut in watercolor paper and used Zig Watercolor brush markers. Do you remember Memory Box Dave’s watercolor dip video? Thinking this die would be fun for that technique too! True, you could do this up a million ways! lol and for a lot of occasions!
I went with sympathy this time because I need to get some in my stash. The sentiment I used is from the poppystamps Peony Stems and Blossoms set. Love this set! I stamped it in the MISTI with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. That’s my go to black right now.
Hobby Lobby watercolor paper for the cardbase and die cut. I just ink blended on some Distress ink in the background. I think it was Broken China. Then spattered on some of the watered down Zig color that I scribbled on my craft mat.
I did use the thin mounting tape that I link to below, to adhere the die cut. Placing it behind the flowers and the base.
Thanks for stopping by today and HEADS UP!!! BIG SALE going on at Starlitstudio.net! click over, click on clearance in the sidebar on the left.
Beautiful! How can I get Dave’s video?
So sorry about your trees.
Oh, so bright and beautiful Pam!! You’re such an enabler. 🙂
Pam this is beautiful – just gorgeous colors together…and I am loving that Hobby Lobby texture – I see a trip in my future lol!!!
What a beautiful spring card Pam, it will bring comfort to the recipient.
Love….so pleasing to my eyes…and it pops…the blue wash really pops the flower
What a great CAS card! I love the cleanness of the card! Clean with a great pop of color! So sorry about your trees! We lost the two trees we had in the front yard a few years ago due to the electric company “trimming” them . Ugh. The hacked them so much that they started dying. We finally had to have them taken out. We haven’t replaced them as they come down our street every year and “trim” trees. There are a lot of them in the neighborhood that are dying due to the “trimming”. Ugh.
What a beautiful card! I still need to try that technique.
very sweet, love the colors and dimension in the flowers!
So pretty – and perfect sympathy card. Love the colors against the water color wash background. CAS can be beautifulas is this one.
Well, dang, I ended up back over at Cindy’s anyway! Can’t deny a sale like that! I don’t recall hearing about your trees. What a shame! I hope they don’t want to cut down your new trees if they’re on what they consider their property. I love your card! The orange flowers on the blue… a favorite combo. I like this for a sympathy card. It’s respectful, but not sad. A person has enough sad at a time like this.
Oooooh pretty pretty!!! Love the soft background! Makes those beautiful spring flowers really pop!!
