Memory Box Candle Centerpiece CAS card…

The days are getting away from me again!  How are you? This is ‘take two’ for this card…the first one…well, it got trashed! lol  I used a couple more dies and pattern paper and yikes…back to CAS! haha

I love this combo of candle, pine and holly.  I die cut it in white…heat embossed the outline with gold embossing powder twice, then colored the pieces with Copic Sketch markers before I inlaid them back in.

To keep the pieces together, I piece them from the wrong side and use 3L thin mounting squares to hold them together.  I cut the squares into 3 strips and it really works quite well.  You could do this with any foam type mounting adhesive. I’ll have to take a picture of what it looks like next time I do it. Take for example, where the holly is coming off the side of the candle…great place to stick one and it holds the inner leaf to the outline of the candle and to the candle.

The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas Sentiments stamp set HERE.   I just started using the Tim Holtz Stamp Press HERE….I like it a lot!  The die is called the Candle Centerpiece HERE and the strip of pattern paper is from Pebbles Merry Merry Collection, HERE.  (it’s from the strip on the bottom of the paper where one side has the name and the other side is complementary to the pattern, on the Holly Berries sheet)

  1. Pam, this is beautiful! I really love their candle dies…and you bring them to life! Fabulous card, dear friend!

  2. Lovely CAS card, Pam. I’m a red girl and love the red on this card. Of course, it’s a Christmas color, my favorite time of year. You did a lovely job of piecing, too. Great inspiration!!

  3. i think i’ll have to see a picture of how you do your foam mountain strips. lol! i’m a very visual person. that’s my story and i’m stickin to it! lol!

  4. Spectacular card Pam!! I’m going to try heat embossing die cuts like you did – it’s absolutely beautiful!!

  5. Oh my that is gorgeous, I do love the embossing around the edge, I would love a picture of that back sometime 🙂 I am a visual gal, have a hard time picturing things sometimes

  6. Thank goodness for CAS and I love, love it! Seems so much less can go wrong with CAS. Unless you’re me. Then plenty can go wrong. I’ve had a lot of those wind up in the trash. But this is awesome! Love the gold embossing with the red against the crisp white. And the way you laid out the sentiment with just a bit of DP. I still have no kind of stamp press. A friend is bringing over her MISTI on Friday to convince me how much I need it. Can’t imagine where I’d put it, though. I had a hard enough time finding a spot of the envelope punch board. I don’t like things all jumbled up and crowded, sigh. Anyway, you surely have a gift for CAS, and your Christmas cards are always amazing. You make me want to buy, buy, buy!

  7. Oh my goodness! What a pretty card! I love that gold around the candle! I haven’t even thought about Christmas yet! Summer is so busy for us with all the birthdays….I believe it is somewhere around 23-25 between June and August. Whew! Almost done…then on to Christmas cards I hope! 🙂

  8. Gorgeous card Pam, the candle is so pretty, love the gold and red and the CAS design is perfect, totally love this!
