Simon Says Stamp Magnolia Branches Embossing Folder…
Hi everyone! I was trying for a vintage look with this NEW embossing folder… it turned out pretty and feminine!
This folder is from the NEW Born to Sparkle release…
It’s easy to get a variety of ‘looks’ with this folder!
Using a piece of Memory Box watercolor cardstock in the folder, I ran it through the Big Shot.
Then using Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and a blender brush, I lightly inked over the entire surface of the panel.
I liked it plain but finally decided to add some color with a palette of chalks. I don’t know if they even make them anymore!
I tied on some thin jute cord…
I die cut the Memory Box Thank You Posh Script die, added mounting tape to the back, distressed the edges of the panel with the Tim Holtz Distress Edge tool, inked around the edges and adhered it to a cardbase.
I used natural color Neenah cardstock for the thank you die and the cardbase.
It should’ve been a fast card but since it was an indecisive day… lol It’s important to be happy with the card when done though, so I persevered! lol

Memory Box Ocean Collage Interactive Mini Slimline Shadowbox Card…
Hi everyone! “water you up to?” A very wet week and now for some sunshine and a water card! YAY!
I had to show you the inside first… I love how it turned out! lol
The front…
It’s like a book style, shadow box, interactive, slim line size, dimensional card! 3 ½ x 6 inches but it’s really a box that you’ll see in my little short video below. I wish I knew how to keep the resolution so the quality was still here when I upload. There must be some trick! I’m not ambitious enough to take the time to learn. I’d rather make cards! You can smash it to mail it… It’ll probably need the 2 oz postage stamp.
I used a bunch of the new dies from Memory Box, Distress Oxide Ink pads for all the coloring and Taylored Expressions ink blender brushes. So fun… I like coloring dies this way. I hope you can see that I added some white pigment ink/Sugar Cube from Taylored Expressions, down the centers of the front background piece and the inside background piece… like there’s some light glowing in.
I spattered with water. After it dried I spattered with some white watercolor paint.
I forgot to add some of the new Memory Box Fairy Drop Clear Domed adhesive embellishments! They would’ve been a really cool! Check them out HERE!
I got carried away with pictures… I cut out two though! lol
To make this, I added 1 ½ inch to my card base measurement, then scored so I would have ½ inch for the spine and the ½ inch piece to glue my top panel to and a ½ inch for the side. You can kinda see the white in the picture above…bottom right corner. I did have to trim out some of it so the white didn’t show behind the bubbles and curves. If you made this A2 size, you probably wouldn’t need to do that.
The two inside pieces I made/cut a scant 3 ½ in plus an ⅛ in for both sides so be sure to add a ¼ in to whatever size you make your card.
The top panel is only scored on the left side to glue to the spine. The right side glues to the top ½ inch of the cardbase.
Sorry, I’m one of those wing it card makers that can figure out stuff as I go. Hope you can figure it out too!

poppystamps Whittle Collection Cards…
Hi everyone! I have five little cards to show you today! I had some fun this week making 4 Bar size cards… they’re 3 ⅜ in. x 4 ⅞ in.! I’m a little worried the size will show correctly in the pictures so I wanted you to know right up front! I’m afraid they’ll look bigger in the pictures than they actually are in real life!
I used all new dies and stamps from the latest release.
This one I had fun with the Whittle Fish Trio die, Word Balloons die and Whittle Sealife Sentiments. I embellished it just a touch with the sea weed (not sure what they are) from the new Memory Box Deepwater Collage die.
I also used the new Memory Box cardstock pads. I will link them below.
My husband and grandsons like to fish so I’m sure this will be a hit!
Isn’t this Dolphin cute?
I used Whittle Dolphin, Whittle Sunshine, Whittle Wave Background and sentiment from Whittle Sealife Sentiments.
I like using dies to cut out the sentiment strip. For this one I used the smallest, narrow die from the new Memory Box Slim Basic Rectangle die set. I just run it back through to die cut the very end to get the right length.
I used Oxide inks on the doplhin and sunshine. The new Memory Box cardstock pad for the background.
I made this card first and it got me going on this size!
Whittle Sealife Sentiment stamps again…so fun! I love this sentiment! My sea comes from a bottle or fruit though! lol
I used the Whittle Seahorse and Whittle Seascape Background dies for this card.
I see I saved this picture a different size…oops… oh well, I think you can still see how cute it is!
I inked the background with Speckled Egg distress oxide ink and the seahorse with my brown oxide blending brush. I imagine it had vintage photo on it. I have a set of Taylored Expressions blending brushes I use for the Distress Oxide inks. I really, really like how they work for this kind of thing.
The next two cards don’t really coordinate with the first three. I didn’t have time to make more cards so there’d be sets yet, so be watching for more, I have some ideas!
Here I used Playful Happy Birthday and Whittle Snails! The sentiment is is ‘snail mail for you’ but I figured, why not use a snail instead of the word! hehe It’s from the Whittle Wild Animal Sentiments. Super, super fun sentiments in this set!
The cardstock I used is from the new Memory Box Cardstock pads again…love these pads! Oh and NEW gems! Links below.
I’m welcoming the ladies to the blog today! I like their advice! lol
Cute little Whittle Chickens, Whittle Wood Picture Frames, Word Balloons dies and more sentiments from the Whittle Wild Animals stamp set.
Memory Box has new woodgrain cardstock in light brown, cream and white! I’ll link below. I inked with Gathered Twigs Distress ink and spattered with a little water.
I hope I didn’t miss telling you anything but if I did, feel free to ask me!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Guesting at AAA Cards Challenge…
Hi everyone! It’s my privilege to play along with the AAACards Challenge blog today! We would love to have you join us! Here’s what you need to know…
I do enjoy making CAS cards and I’m always inspired by challenges!
I just woke up the other morning thinking about my speech bubble stamps and dies, so I got them out and started. This was first out of my brain and I liked it and even though I thought I’d try another I didn’t. I always think I’ll do more than I do! ha
Here’s a picture of the card I made and entered into one of the AAA challenges and won with my card for this new challenge. Click ‘home’ and scroll down a few posts and you’ll find the thank you card.
I’m thinking this CONGRATS card is especially fitting for this time of year and could be switched up easily for many occasions. Blue for a baby boy sentiment, pink for a baby girl, it doesn’t have to be just graduations! But you could use the school color!
I really like it and I hope you’ll take up the challenge! Once you get started making CAS cards it’s so fun! 😀
I took a close up picture of this cute washi tape that I’m gonna use to close the envelope… perfect! ❤
This is the mini slimline size card…3 ½ x 6 inches.
Thanks for stopping by today and I apologize for accidentally hitting the publish button earlier which ended up in you receiving an email too early! ugh! I had made a change and normally it would say ‘update’ but because I’d already saved this post as a ‘draft’ it says publish instead of update! OH GOOD GRIEF! (Charlie Brown) Yes, blogging is a challenge too! lol
Have a good rest of the week and try making a CAS card and linking it up!
