Magnolia…Tilda’s Town Shabby Chic Challenge…

It’s Tilda’s Town Challenge day and my week to play.   The challenge is…Shabby Chic!  I love collecting stuff to do shabby chic but it’s challenging to me… coming up with a balance and yet some feeling of collage type designing too!

This is Secret Tilda… A Christmas image from the Merry Little Christmas Collection.  She’s in stock HERE!

Tilda’s Town is an awesome place to shop!  Free shipping world-wide and discounts by order amount too!  Love that!

I used a NEW Marianne Design Heart die… LOVE the dainty scallop border… more heart shapes in the set too… and a snowflake!  Check it out HERE.

Tilda is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers. I started out with her pants, colored gray T3 all over… then I colored over that with R35, then pulled in R37 and R39 for the creases. The shirt and bow I colored gray T1 on first and then did the reds the same way as the pants.

I used some pattern paper from an old collection by Cosmo Cricket called Wonderland.  Flowers by Prima… buttons from SEI…seam binding is hug snug I colored with Copic Various refills…Border die is Edwin Lace, link below.

Today’s TIP!  I machine stitched around the panels on this card.  I finished pulling the ends to the back side and taped them down… turned them over and it hit me… I didn’t change the thread color!  UGH!   White isn’t very shabby chic… so I used the brush tip of a copic marker, E51 to match this paper and just pulled it along the thread!  YEA!  Sometimes a gal has to be so creative! lol

Thanks for stopping by and hope you can play along in this week’s Shabby Chic Challenge HERE @ Tilda’s Town Challenges!

Martha Stewart · punches

Martha Stewart punches…

I was just looking at my blog stats and you know how it is… one place leads to another on the internet!  So glad I found this though!  I have this punch (still unopened). They used it for this paper chain and I love how it looks!  It’s going to have to come out of the package now!

This picture is from HERE.  I doubt that I ever make paper chains but if you click on the link you’ll see how this looks flat and how other punches look too!  Fun!  This site also tells you what size to cut your card-stock.  I see potential for cards!

I wonder if EK Success or Martha Stewart came out with any new punches at CHA?  Such a weakness! lol

I’ll be back on Friday with a Magnolia card for Tilda’s Town!

Our daughter and new grandson are doing well!  Won’t be long and they’ll be home!  YEA!

CC Designs School Hansel…

This is School Hansel… can you just hear the story about why the paper is crumpled?  The puppy got it!  Hansel is one of the new images for August, illustrated by Christine Wooden for CC Designs.  He was really fun to color!  The pencil he’s sitting on, the “write on” sentiment and the two tickets are from the new for August, School Logos set. The tickets are cut out using the Ticket die.

I used two of the new for August CC Designs Cutters dies,  the banner and the apple.  I told Christine about my banner on this card and that we needed it as a die and this is the month!  YEA!  Lots of potential for paper fun again!  For this card I wanted it to be like the chalkboards we had when I was growing up!

School Hansel and his pencil are stamped on Letraset cartridge card-stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers.   The pattern papers I used are from the Basic Grey 6×6 Oxford pad. The Typewriter die cut letters are a Tim Holtz Sizzlet die called Typeset.  My paper pieces are all edged with Distress ink and the ink blending tool… layers are cut with the Perfect Layers Tools…

I’m not writing the ATS blog posts anymore but you’ll still find links to all the new stamps and dies in my posts here!  Thank you!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Tilda’s Town Challenge… Name Your Technique!

Time for Tilda!  Tailor Tilda that is!  I love this image… sewing has always been near and dear to my heart and   our 3 daughters like to sew and even a couple of the granddaughters are sewing already!  So FUN!  I’m sure if I hadn’t found stamping in 1994,  I’d still be sewing my heart out!

I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink,  masked her with eclipse tape and used my stamp a ma jig to position the school desk.  Colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  The Magnolia Kurbitz corner is stamped with Broken China ink… 2nd generation stamping.  October Afternoon pattern paper… think it’s the Thrift Shop pad.

My techniques for today’s card are masking, distressing with the Tim Holtz paper distresser and distress ink and ink blending tool, stitching with the sewing machine and embellishing die cuts.  I used the Tim Holtz sewing border die.  I cut it out of mirror card-stock and kraft card-stock… trimmed off the different pieces and layered them up.  Wound buttonhole thread around the spool a couple times.   The sentiment is an old Hero arts stamp… love it!

Enjoy the inspiration and challenge over on the Tilda’s Town Challenges blog, HERE.  The TT Design Team gals do an awesome job creating fabulous cards for you to enjoy… drop in and we’d love to hear from  you too!  Hope you can play in the Name Your Technique Challege!

Happy stamping and stitching!  See you again soon!

Family

Hi everyone!

I won’t be posting quite as much for awhile.  New grandson!  He was born Wednesday morning but a couple months early.  He’s doing well and we’re so thankful!  I am helping with their other kids and our other grandchildren while our other two daughters are taking turns staying at the hospital to keep mom company.

I’m still writing the posts for  Tilda’s Town…. so I’m still here!  = )  Just not quite as much time to create for a bit.

I appreciate your prayers and friendship!  Thank you!  I miss you and will be back soon!
