Memory Box…Lovely Aster

_MG_6766

Today is my first time to post on the Memory Box blog, HERE!  Exciting and challenging!  I wanted to use the new Lovely Aster die… it’s so cool, I ♥ that the flowers and the leaves are embossed and cut out with one pass through the die cut machine!

I started my card by cutting 3 of the medium size flower and 3 of the flower center from the Lovely Aster die set.  I shaped them with an embossing stylus on a mouse pad and glued them together with Tombox Mono Multi glue.  The leaves are cut with the leaf dies from the set.

This is an A2 size card… mats are cut with the Perfect Layers Tools, even around the Sideshow Tickets die cut (I used a corner rounder punch on the corners though)… link in the sidebar and below.

I used the Flower Mound die for the teeny white flowers.  They are shaped with a stylus on a mouse pad then glued to die cut Chloe flowers.  I cut two of the  Isabella butterfly die and glued them together.  The center piece is colored with an E47 Copic Sketch marker and glued on.

The label is one of the Pastry Label dies.  ‘Wishing you’ is from the Wishing you a happy bee-day rubber stamp. I used the next to the largest Sideshow Tickets die, matted it and used a small corner rounder punch on the corners. Do you see the embossing on the ticket die… cool!  I used Memory Box Distressed Violet, Moroccan violet, Moroccan squash and sweet corn  8.5 x 11 papers.

The bow is made with Lawn Fawn’s Trimmings.  Stitched on the sewing machine with heavyweight thread.  All the papers and pieces are edged with Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress inks and the Ink Blending tool!

My card is in the favorites thread at SCS  3 times this week! Wow!  So thrilled and honored!  Thank you ladies!

Marianne Design Vintage Christmas…

Merry Christmas to you!  Marianne Design has some lovely vintage prints you can buy, cut and use on your creations.  So pretty! (sorry, I can’t find a place to link to them in the US)  I used some new dies too… I’ll link them all below.  Merry Christmas sentiment is from Printworks,  tags and tag sentiments from Stampin Up.  Ribbon is by May Arts.  Sewing machine stitching and then to get the thread to match the paper, I used a Copic Sketch marker, the chisel end to go over the stitching to make it match the paper better.  The paper is an older line from Cosmo Cricket,  Winter Wonderland.  I have a bunch of it… ugh… used to over buy when I liked something and now I have way too much!  So you’ll be seeing  it again… lol    I really like it but I sure can’t get the colors to show up right in the pictures!  giving up and just posting them!

Beautiful dies to work with.. cut so well… take a look and enjoy creating your Christmas cards!  Thanks for stopping by!

Marianne Design…Passport to adventure

Silhouettes are so popular right now… I love them all so every once in awhile I have to try my hand at using them again!

I used a variety of Marianne Design products…
The travel/map papers are from Marianne’s Pretty Paper Bloc – Vintage Journey HERE
or preorder HERE
I used two dies, the Creatables die – Lord and Lady HERE or preorder HERE and the Craftables die – Lacy Rectangle and flower HERE or preorder HERE. (I cut the rectangle die down and just used the center part of it)
Stamps are from a Vintage stamp set called Journey CS0585 HERE.

I did the usual… antique linen and walnut stain distress inks on all the pieces… applied with the ink blending tool.  Perfect Layers Tools to cut the mats… the sentiment is from an old PSX travel set…. I wish they were still around!  It’s weird not to color but fun for a change too!

Magnolia…Tilda’s Town Shabby Chic Challenge…

It’s Tilda’s Town Challenge day and my week to play.   The challenge is…Shabby Chic!  I love collecting stuff to do shabby chic but it’s challenging to me… coming up with a balance and yet some feeling of collage type designing too!

This is Secret Tilda… A Christmas image from the Merry Little Christmas Collection.  She’s in stock HERE!

Tilda’s Town is an awesome place to shop!  Free shipping world-wide and discounts by order amount too!  Love that!

I used a NEW Marianne Design Heart die… LOVE the dainty scallop border… more heart shapes in the set too… and a snowflake!  Check it out HERE.

Tilda is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers. I started out with her pants, colored gray T3 all over… then I colored over that with R35, then pulled in R37 and R39 for the creases. The shirt and bow I colored gray T1 on first and then did the reds the same way as the pants.

I used some pattern paper from an old collection by Cosmo Cricket called Wonderland.  Flowers by Prima… buttons from SEI…seam binding is hug snug I colored with Copic Various refills…Border die is Edwin Lace, link below.

Today’s TIP!  I machine stitched around the panels on this card.  I finished pulling the ends to the back side and taped them down… turned them over and it hit me… I didn’t change the thread color!  UGH!   White isn’t very shabby chic… so I used the brush tip of a copic marker, E51 to match this paper and just pulled it along the thread!  YEA!  Sometimes a gal has to be so creative! lol

Thanks for stopping by and hope you can play along in this week’s Shabby Chic Challenge HERE @ Tilda’s Town Challenges!

Forever Young…

Distress Marker coloring!!!  I like these markers!  I stamped with Color Box Archival Dye, acid free, Wicked Black ink on Canson Manga paper (card weight) and I love it!  Calls for a video…maybe… hehe

More of the new stamps from Printworks Collection… J4287 Antique Urn, K4247 Roses, C4264  Forever Young and the hand is from the Vintage collection D1808…and then you can stamp this on the inside… E4272… = )

I used Distress Markers, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Antique Linen, Black Soot, Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Barn Door and for the flesh on the hand, I mixed Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar and Dried Marigold and painted it on with water.   Some of the coloring I placed the marker directly on the paper and then moved it with water and some I colored the marker on a stamp a ma jig imaging sheet and then picked the color up with a wet paintbrush or I added water to it on the sheet.  I tried some other papers but this is the one I liked the best.

Course I should’ve stopped before I watercolored some vintage photo ink on the leaves… IRL, it looks fine but for some reason the camera picks what I don’t like and emphasizes it! lol  oh well,  kick the camera! lol
