God Bless America…

Stand beside her… and guide her… I miss singing these songs! Can you tell?! lol   This is what I came up with for the shoebox card party today… I LOVE this stamp!  I found it at the new stamp store 30 miles south of where I live… if you want to know about it… email me… it’s called the Craft and Hobby Connection.  The stamp is by Stampabilities… I’m calling it Lizzie Faith and Jace!  That’s our youngest daughter and DH’s two children.  Lizzie is getting close to four and Jace will be one later this month.

The postal frame is from Stampington and Co. and the Statue of Liberty is from an old Hero Arts set.  I keep my stamps!  You never know when you might need one of them!  Makes me happy! lol  Yes, the pattern paper is vintage too! hahaha  Pebbles is the brand…. 2004 or 5!  I’m sure there is a lot of knew out there that would be really fun with these stamps,  but I need to use this stuff!  ugh! lol  Martha Stewart star border punch… I think it might be hard to find…sorry I don’t have a link for most of this stuff!  The star is the smallest star from the Star Nestabilities set cut out of a thin coaster.  I did write up instructions… if you want me to email them to you,  holler!

I know…you’re wondering why I’m showing you the inside! lol  I ran out of time to do it up right! boo!  I love this stamp though, by DeNami Design 46K is the number on it! Wouldn’t it be fun to stamp it on red card-stock and cut out the stars and paper piece them on the blue?!

ok – I’ll shut up…have a great Friday…I’m off to the shoebox card party.  ttul!

I’m Your Angel…

I’m Your Angel“, one of Bildmalarna’s new images for Spring at All That Scraps.com, HERE.  It’s feeling like it could be Spring here soon!  Love days like today… around 53˚!  Not to cold and not hot either!  Today was our monthly stamp club meeting and the swap was to create a card with an extra fold,  so I made an easel card  and envelope with my trusty Martha Stewart Score Board, HERE… love that thing!  I do use an embossing stylus instead of the scoring tool that comes with it though.  I just find it works better.

I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PaperTrey Ink Select White card-stock and colored her with Copic Sketch Markers.  Skin E000, 00, 01, diluted R20…Hair E50, 51, YR30, 31…Dress, socks, flower R0000, 81…leaves G20, 40…wings YR30, 31,  didn’t realize I left such a definite outline next to her sleeve.. oops! lol

Fun to work with pastel colors and this new cutie!  The papers are from an old 6×6 pack from Memory Box. The tulip border is a punch from Martha Stewart, HERE,  that I punched and then clipped and formed to fit around the Nestabilities scallop oval…the nestabilities ovals are in the store HERE. I wanted the green scallop to look like grass!  I’m gonna try it again with darker tulips next time!  Finally used my Martha Stewart Vintage Lace border punch too… and Martha’s grass border and butterfly punches too!  A punchy card! ugh!  The sentiment and floral border stamps are from Printworks.  The floral chorus line stamp is HERE and the sentiment is HERE.  Awesome Printworks goodness!

Some Spring Challenges out there I’m linking up to… one here… the Crop Stop Challenge BlogStampin’ For the Weekend Challenge Blog is Spring. On the Charisma Cards Challenge Blog the theme is Easel cards.

Hope I didn’t forget anything… just holler if I did!  Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting my blog!

Twisted Easel Doohickey’s flower/tag card…

The second Friday afternoon of the month is our area stamp club meeting…an awesome group of ladies/stampers that I’ve met with for years and they truly are dear friends!  I thought it’d be fun to try the twisted easel card,  so this is what we made yesterday!  Pink,  yes, pink and dark pink,  NOT red!  I hate it that cameras don’t capture true colors but think pink when you look at these pictures! lol

This photo shows the card closed… you can mail it in a 5×7 envelope the way I made it,  that way it’s ok that the butterfly and flower stick off a little because they will be in the envelope the 7 in. way! yea!

Here’s what I did after checking out the You Tubes, blogs and SCS for ideas.

  • one piece of 8.5 x 11 card-stock cut to 5 x 10
  • with a Martha Stewart score board, score that piece in half and then the top half score a diagonal and it doesn’t really matter from which corner because it can sit either direction.  ***My diagonal goes from the “in half” score up to the top left corner and the top right triangle formed from scoring is the triangle I decorated***

  • I used Magnolia Doohickey’s Dies, Doily Flowers, Foliage, Tilda’s Lace, Vintage Tag,  Lacey Circles and Circles Nestabilities, (the eyelet circles would be cool too!). Layer the circles together like the picture. The NEW Doohickey’s dies would be awesome also.
  • I cut a 4 3/4 in. square diagonally and layered it up on the triangle that I decorated… it dawned on my when I was taking the photo of the top of the card that I could have used the other leftover triangle too… boo! lol
  • I used two of the large doohickey’s flowers and one of the smaller to create the center-ish pink flower… just one smaller for the accent flower in the bottom corner.  I push in on the center of each petal while folding down the outside edges to shape the petals for dimension.
  • cut two of the foliage doohickey’s die,  keep in mind what direction you want them to lie when you are cutting them out if your card-stock is textured…
  • the Tilda’s Lace border I cut from pink card-stock and then ran it through the crimper a few times to give it a ruffly feel… love that… saw that on one of the You Tubes about this card.  So many wonderful creative people out there! love that they share so freely! YEA and thank you!
  • Hero Arts pearls
  • ribbon
  • I did edge the tag with Antique Linen Distress ink and the ink blending tool
  • The sentiment is from Printworks HERE C2607 “Heart that Holds”  ***REMEMBER – free shipping offer on $20 or more through the 14th… HURRY and get your order in!!!  More info HERE.
  • The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and I can’t remember where I purchased it. Possibly online direct from EK Success.

I’m linking to the following challenges…

Have fun with this style!  I’d love to see what you come up with too! ttul!
