Muse Challenge, Memory Box and Paper Smooches…

Pam Sparks April Showers Umbrella

Hi everybody!  yep, it’s raining here and it’s our youngest daughter’s birthday which got me to thinking about cards and the Muse Challenge that I’ve been wanting to jump in on this week!

muse_featured_member

I love Michele’s card and was inspired by her element popped up in the corner of the rectangle.  I left my rectangle kinda big cuz I didn’t want to cut off that much of the die but I kinda wish I would’ve now.  Oops, I added a layer and forgot the sentiment was on a banner. I should’ve sent myself the picture and had it up on my phone I guess.  Can’t trust my brain! lol

I used some dies I haven’t used very much so that was fun.

The Umbrella is from Magnolia Sweden (I don’t see it in stock in any of the US online stores, you can probably order it directly from Magnolia Sweden though)… the scallop stitched rectangle is from My Favorite Things… the rain background and stitched rectangle are Memory Box and the boots are from Paper Smooches. I stamped the boots with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink on the mini MISTI.  I stamped and cut out a mask and inked the inside of the boots with Evergreen Bough and Hickory Smoke Distress Inks.

The next card I made for stamp club here.  The theme was April Showers Bring May Flowers, so puddles with splashes just seemed like fun!  All the stamps and the die are from Paper Smooches. The stitched rectangle die is Memory Box.  The polka dot paper is My Favorite Things, the Lollipop and Cookie Monster layer and card-base are Taylored Expressions.

It’s interesting to see the difference in the background colors of the photos.  The welcome Spring card pictures were from Friday a.m. when the sun was shining… the umbrella card was late afternoon today with no sun but plenty of light.

Both cards are A-2 size.

Thanks for looking at my Spring cards! I appreciate it!  Have a good week!

Memory Box and poppystamps class cards…

Pam Sparks Triptych Fence

Hi everyone!  Finally getting these posted!  You can tell it’s Spring when you start working on ‘things’ around the house!  Even if it is just putting your Copic refills in alphabetical order! lol

I used the poppystamps Triptych die and Memory Box Fence die and sentiment on this one.  The little flowers are from the Playful Petal Bundle.  The Triptych die cuts the three squares in the card base and cuts the 3 tree parts squares too.  I just cut the die once in the white card base and then once in kraft because I wanted the tree squares to be brown.  I used a Tombow brush marker to edge the squares to make them darker brown.  I stamped with a woodgrain stamp over the top of all three squares before I pieced them into the card base.  I stamped the fence with the woodgrain stamp too.

Pam Sparks Kaysen Oval Frame Scene

In these two cards you have the poppystamps Boddington Cottage in the background die cut in a rectangle piece of card-stock, then cut that with one of the new Memory Box Oval Layering dies. Die cut a larger oval in light green to mat the scene and a smaller oval to stamp the sentiment on. The poppystamps Kaysen Oval is cut in darker green and lightly glued to the Boddington Cottage Oval.  The flower is from the Memory Box Seraphine Laurel die set.

This card wasn’t part of the class but I thought I’d go ahead and show you what it looked like with a different card base color.

Here I die cut one of the dies from the Geo Fragments die set in green.  Love that set!  I used the curve die that comes with the Memory Box Pasture Grass die set, to cut the front panel.  The sprigs from the Memory Box Seraphine Laurel die fit the curve perfectly!  Sentiment is from Memory Box and the butterfly is Memory Box Pippi and Isabella.

Here I used the poppystamps Sylvan Frame over a watercolored panel. The Memory Box Marielle Butterflies die, a banner with the poppystamps classic ribbon die and the poppystamps happy Spring die.

Memory Box and poppystamps cards…

Pam Sparks Susanna Bloom Stitched Swirl

Hi and are you feeling like I am?  This week went by in a blur! I’m blaming it on the time change this week! haha

My first card today is all die cuts except for that little birthday stamp from the  “in the words” stamp set.

The poppystamps Stitched Swirl die is die cut into the light green Open Studio Stitched Rectangle Layer, then die cut in a piece of green and pieced into the light green rectangle.

The poppystamps Susanna Bloom is die cut in white, leave it in the die, turn it over and emboss it with a stylus, turn it back over and sponge on the color.  In this case, I used Distress Inks Squeezed Lemonade and Peeled Paint.

The word ‘happy’ is from the poppystamps Happy Spring die set.  I like to put Scor-tape on the back of the card-stock before I run it through the Big Shot for words.  Then you have a sticker.  TIP: Pick out the parts you don’t want to use before you remove the word.  Take out the waste from the top of the ‘h’, the bottom of the two p’s and the bottom of the ‘y’, then peel off  the sticker.  It shouldn’t cut through the release paper of the Scor-tape.  It’s a lot easier to remove them first then after you have the word off. It’s so sticky to try to remove those inner parts then.

Pam Sparks Sylvan Lattice

Here is the poppystamps Side Lattice die cut into the card front, backed with Memory Box Sweetcorn card-stock.  The poppystamps Sylvan die cut and flowers from the Memory Box Seraphine Laurel die. Thinking of you is from the Memory Box Springtime Bunnies clear set.

Pam Sparks Peony Delight 2

For this card, I embossed both of these dies, poppystamps Peony Delight and Peony Bud into the card-stock white panel, then it was real easy to see where to adhere the green die cuts. Happy Spring is from the Springtime Bunnies clear stamp set.

A few sequins, stamp a sentiment and all the cards are A2 size cards.

Memory Box Happy Spring and Springtime Bunnies…

Pam Sparks Springtime Bunnies 2016

Hello and happy Spring the bunnies say!  I created this card with the Memory Box Spring Bunnies Stamp and Die sets. I love that you get dies for every image in the set! I stamped with the MISTI and Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch Markers. The grass is the Memory Box  Prairie Grass die.

I die cut the grass and postal frame and then inked with Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.  Spattered on some water, swabbed it up and then spattered on some of the inks that I diluted a touch with water.

Pam Sparks SpringtimeBunnies 2016 Close

Bunnies are colored with E40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 47; Ears – R20, 21, 22; Pot – E95, 97, 15, 19; Flowers – YG25, YR04, RV25

A little white Signo gel pen to accent the bunnies and the flowers… I had trouble with it coming off this time! ugh.  I wish there was a finer line white pen that worked good!
