Mr. and Mrs. card and holiday sale link…

Congrats to the Mr. and Mrs.!

A fun card I made for a wedding yesterday… houndstooth stamp from Stampers Anonymous U4-1043, S5264 Antique flower background from Hero Arts,  J180 Mr. & Mrs. from Stampendous.  On the inside I used F121 Lifetime Love from Stampendous and F5243 Elegant Brocade from Hero Arts.  Bummer I forgot to photograph the inside! ugh!  I used Spellbinders Labels 20 dies for the frame.

Linking my card to 365 Cards Challenge blogtheme for the day is sophisticated… to the Secret Crafter Challenge blogtheme is white and one other color and to the Lily Pad Challenge blog, theme is bling.

A Joyful Christmas…

Today is our monthly stamp club and it’s showbox party time!  This is the card I’m taking for everyone to make.  If you receive Archivers email newsletter,  they had a card like this in one awhile back.  I don’t know how they did what they did to achieve their results but this is what I did! lol  I used Hero Arts CG154  Aged Print Background stamp and Tim Holtz A Joyful Christmas Cling stamp set.  I wrote up the instructions for club,  so I’ll copy and paste them here too…

Two Peas in a Bucket does have some of these Tim Holtz stamps wood mounted HERE, if you can’t find the cling set.  Glimmer Mists HERE.  I like glimmer mists a lot!  : )

Over on the Jingle Belles Challenge blog they are wanting to see a card inspired by a Christmas carol!  I’m gonna go with “O Holy Night”.

A Joyful Christmas
1. On the 4 ¼ x 5 ½ piece of natural card-stock stamp the Hero Arts distress background stamp two times.  The first time ink it up with Old Paper distress ink and stamp it with the arrow pointing up ( I added an arrow w/a sharpie marker)…stamp it off on the scrap paper to clean it.  Ink it up a second time with Frayed Burlap distress ink and stamp it with the arrow pointing down, over the top, on the same piece you stamped the first time.  Stamp it off on the scrap paper to clean it for the next gal.
2. Stamp the crackle stamp one time in Frayed Burlap distress ink – look at the sample card for placement.
3. Stamp “A Joyful Christmas” with fired brick distress ink in the bottom left corner… the stamp positioner is ready if you want to use it for positioning.
4. Stamp the angel with Versafine Black ink – look at the sample card for placement.
5. Stamp the music staff with Walnut Stain distress ink – look at the sample card for placement.
6. With the Tim Holtz edge distressing tool… scuff up all four sides of the stamped, natural piece.
7. Using the ink blending tool and Walnut Stain distress ink,  edge all four sides of the natural, stamped card with ink and then go around the piece of red card-stock also.
8. Using the cardboard box… place your stamped piece in it and hold it up to spritz it with 4 blasts of the dazzling diamonds glimmer mist… set it aside to dry a bit.
9. Fold your kraft card base in half on the scored line, crease
10. Ink the edges a little with the ink blending tool and the Walnut Stain distress ink.
11. Punch a rectangle with the handheld punch in the back behind the fold for your gold cord to go through.
12. Using the TH tiny attacher, staple the stamped piece to the red piece – look at the sample card for placement.
13. Adhere your stamped piece to the kraft card.
14.  Add the gold cord,  the greenery, holly and berries.
Merry Creating!
Thanks for stopping by and talk to you later!!!

Happy Birthday Bird Post…

I am so tickled!!!  I actually used a new stamp before I’d had it a week! lol  This is a cling mount stamp by Stampendous and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession,  one by Alesa Baker.  The oak leaf is an old Marvy Giga punch… the woodgrain background is a wood mount stamp from Hero Arts, that I love.  The paper is from that JoAnn’s DCWV paper pad for Fall, that I keep using.  : )  Ribbon is from a Basic Grey collection… I don’t have any idea which one because I took them all out to hang up.

I stamped in black on natural cardstock and again in brown and cut out the bird and crown.  Colored the crown in with gold metallic gel pen.  Edged everything with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress inks and the ink blending tool.

We always give the birthday girls a card at our monthly stamp club,  which was yesterday…we had a great time.  Then today was the copic class in Ottumwa, IA at the Craft and Hobby Connection Stamp store… Six awesome copic students!  What fun!

Have an awesome weekend!  So thankful for some beautiful days!   Can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to on your blogs!  I have a lot of catching up to do!  ttul!

Thanks for visiting again!

Hot, Hot Days of Summer

SSSSShiver Me Timbers! is right!  It’s been so hot in Iowa this Summer!   I think the heat effects my creativity!  eek! This card took a few twists and turns before it turned into this diorama style card!

I used my Coluzzle templates to cut the ovals… Kraftin’ Kimmie Pirate Phrases stamp set…Tim Holtz screw brads around the oval frame…Martha Stewart Shells border punch…Hero Arts woodgrain background stamp.

The card/diorama is 5/8 inch deep,  so you can move it to make it flat (folds down to 6×6) to fit in an envelope!  Love this style of card… I made one for Christmas when I was the guest designer for All That Scraps back in Nov. ’09, HERE.  Years ago I made a snowman scene that I still keep out on top of a bookcase! lol

Here’s the back… this is going to our Grandson Henry for his 5th birthday.  Today is our Granddaughter Gena’s 4th birthday and my dear friend Alice’s birthday too!  Happy Birthday to YOU!
