Happy news…

Awhile back I received an email from a magazine wanting to publish one of my easel cards for a new feature in their magazine…”What’s Out There? Beautiful Blogs!”    What an honor to be included in this magazine from overseas!  I used Stampavie’s  “Looking at You” clear stamp by Gillian Roberts.

Here’s the front of the card and the post, with pictures of the full card, is HERE

Here’s a link to buy this August issue or to subscribe – HERE.  They told me that it should be in the Barnes and Noble, JoAnn’s and Michael’s stores also,  but I went ahead and ordered a copy online because I can’t run into those stores without a trip.  My credit card was charged $9.61 for it (you’ll only see GBP on their site).

Here’s a picture of the cover… in case you find it in a store…my card is on page 76 !  : )

Here’s a link to the Papercraft Inspirations blog and the post that lists the other blogs featured in this two page spread – HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ve missed chatting with everyone!  What a busy time of year!  I’ll leave you with a picture from our fun 4th of July – “on the pond”!   : )

CC Designs May Release Review…

I decided to make a baby gift enclosure card with Amy Young’s Blueberry Flitter Friend!  So adorable and such expressive eyes!  I’m loving the Amy R Great Greetings set, NEW this month.  Just can’t get enough of the teeny sentiments!  Lots of circle Nestabilities went into creating this Round Easel card… it’s not very big…a little over 4 in. wide is all!  I used some flower punches,  stacked ’em up, glued ’em together for the stopper… a few pearls on the butterfly and with the sentiment, from Hero Arts.   I paper pieced her clothes with the new 6 x 6 pattern paper pad from MME called Happy Go Lucky.  Blueberry is stamped on Paper Trey Ink white card-stock with Memento Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch Markers.

Edwin and Butterfly Dreams…

Good morning! Edwin has something “just for YOU”!

Here’s some more pictures of my card…

Some crazy coloring on this one… his shirt started out with YG11,  added teeny bits of YG 13 & 17 but it was a little bright so I colored over with W00 then went back in with some of the greens again, then some YG0000… and so it goes!  Do you want to know about the jeans then? lol  More crazy! lol  Started by coloring all with BG0000,  then did tip to tip with BG13 & then BG18 but you have to swipe on scrap paper before you color it on the image. eek!  it’s fun!  crazy coloring is why I haven’t made any videos! lol Well the real reason is because I don’t have a video camera or maybe I would have been persuaded by now!

Couldn’t decide between these last two so bear with me,  I’m posting both! I LOVE these new Doohickey’s Butterfly Dreams dies!  I used all of the new ones except one! lol  Links below for everything.

I used my new stopper idea again too!  This time I used oval punches…three of them… the back one goes the opposite direction and is scored in half and the bottom half is taped under the brown base.  I just love this stopper stuff! lol   oh and can you see that cool arrow brad?  so happy I bought those!  I usually resist that stuff,  but you need extras for boys,  so it was a good thing!

I used the sketch from Sweet Stop Sketches Challenge blog but I think the main image is supposed to be a sentiment,  so not sure if I can link up yet or not!  Probably not… but I love Korin’s sketches so I used it anyway cuz I needed a jump start yesterday! : )) ETA – Korin says, “yes, link up!”  Linking to the new Craft Us Crazy challenge blog… use something NEW.

Here’s the stamps and stuff I used on this Easel card…

Thanks for visiting today!  I LOVE hearing from you…I’m still in awe of all the friends I’ve made out here in the stamping WWW!  Thanks for taking the time to comment, make me smile and so many times laugh out loud!

Anya’s Birthday card…

Our granddaughter Anya turned six yesterday and the family birthday party is tomorrow , we have three birthdays this month…so two more cards coming soon!

This cutie stamp’s name is “looking at you” from Stampavie!  So cute and so like Anya IRL!

The next picture shows my clever little trick to make the easel card stopper!  I LOVE it!

Do you see it?  I used two circle punches and a Quickutz flower die and an Amy R’s birthday sentiment, “birthday girl”.  I scored the pink circle, folded it and stuck part under the layers on the bottom of the card.  The green circle I cut off so it wouldn’t be too thick under the layers… cool… I’m sure I’ll be doing this again.  It’s just like a card “stop sign”! lol

Here’s a close up of “looking at you”…

Colored with Copic Sketch Markers – Hair YR30, 31, 23, 24 – shirt and socks R81, 83, 85 – pants & shoes E40, 41, 42, 43, 44 – butterfly BG0000, 000, 01, 02.  Pattern paper by Jillibean Soup (it’s on sale!). Cardstock is from Prism.  Hug Snug seam binding.  Sentiment stamps, Versafine ink, Magnolia Dragonfly die, Spellbinders dies, Memento inks applied with ink blending tool to sky (summer sky)  and grass (pear tart, new sprout and bamboo leaves) … links below.

Linking my card up to a couple challenge blogs…

Papertake Weekly – anything goes with the optional circle…that’d be my stopper! : ))

Flutter By Wednesday – anything goes with a butterfly

I’m Your Angel…

I’m Your Angel“, one of Bildmalarna’s new images for Spring at All That Scraps.com, HERE.  It’s feeling like it could be Spring here soon!  Love days like today… around 53˚!  Not to cold and not hot either!  Today was our monthly stamp club meeting and the swap was to create a card with an extra fold,  so I made an easel card  and envelope with my trusty Martha Stewart Score Board, HERE… love that thing!  I do use an embossing stylus instead of the scoring tool that comes with it though.  I just find it works better.

I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PaperTrey Ink Select White card-stock and colored her with Copic Sketch Markers.  Skin E000, 00, 01, diluted R20…Hair E50, 51, YR30, 31…Dress, socks, flower R0000, 81…leaves G20, 40…wings YR30, 31,  didn’t realize I left such a definite outline next to her sleeve.. oops! lol

Fun to work with pastel colors and this new cutie!  The papers are from an old 6×6 pack from Memory Box. The tulip border is a punch from Martha Stewart, HERE,  that I punched and then clipped and formed to fit around the Nestabilities scallop oval…the nestabilities ovals are in the store HERE. I wanted the green scallop to look like grass!  I’m gonna try it again with darker tulips next time!  Finally used my Martha Stewart Vintage Lace border punch too… and Martha’s grass border and butterfly punches too!  A punchy card! ugh!  The sentiment and floral border stamps are from Printworks.  The floral chorus line stamp is HERE and the sentiment is HERE.  Awesome Printworks goodness!

Some Spring Challenges out there I’m linking up to… one here… the Crop Stop Challenge BlogStampin’ For the Weekend Challenge Blog is Spring. On the Charisma Cards Challenge Blog the theme is Easel cards.

Hope I didn’t forget anything… just holler if I did!  Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting my blog!
