I don’t have a new card to share today but I pulled this Happy Easter card out of the “archives”… So cute!
We’re enjoying the weather in IA… 6 of the grands here to play yesterday afternoon… so fun! A couple of the girls and I cut scrap paper into useable sizes part of the time… fun to see that paper stack up. Now if I could just get that card finished that I started last week! ugh! I keep moving it out of the way to do something else! lol

Here’s a close up… how I colored her. Hair is E50, E51, YR31, Y35, Eyes are BG01, 02, 05
I did wipe off her elfish ear… ugh… shame on me… well, I had to try and see if it’d work! I love it!
Are you loving the Logos sets that Christine is illustrating now? I used one from the Woodland Logos set released last month and one from the Spring Logos set that is part of the March release. Cool… very fun… stamped in a fun green color… Versafine Spanish Moss… love this color! I forget to stamp in color ink… Black is such a good color! lol
And of course I had to use the CC Designs Cutters Leafy Branch die… they’re back in stock! yea! YES, you do need it! = ) And the small butterfly from the Butterfly Border die… yes, it is smaller than the butterflies in the Butterflies Die set.
I think I took enough photos… silly… just post ’em all when you can’t decide! That’s what I do! snicker!

So…I tried the no outline coloring… I love it but… when I took the pictures this a.m. her face looked awful in the photos! ugh! boo! whine! So, I tried to blend it more…well, we all know what happens then… ugh! So the photo above is the second photo session because of that evil E11! lol It is not my friend in photos anyway. I thought the coloring was fine until I took the pictures! I used V20, 22, 25, 28 for her dress and boots. E30, 31, 34, 37 for her hair. YG0000, 00, 01, 03 for her wings and a clear Spica glitter pen.
The pattern paper is Basic Grey Sugar Rush 6×6 pad. Dies and punches and of course the Perfect Layers Rulers!
Here’s the first photo I took this a.m. before I tried blending and removing color on her face. I think in trying to get the shading I just used too much ink!
I’m not throwing the card away because IRL, it’s cute and I really like it! Figures I can’t get a photo that does it justice! I decided to use this Swiss Pixies Butterfly Nora and the Swiss Pixies Wheelbarrow for our first post. I LOVE her! I was looking back through my blog and saw this one that I’d made in April of 2010 and I just wanted to post it again! lol I stamped Butterfly Nora first, masked her and then stamped the wheelbarrow… just like my tutorial in the April 2010 post.
I used the Five Point Flower, die cut one layer and for the centers I did a swirl thing with some lightweight paper cord stuff I picked up at JoAnns last year and glued it on … I’m pretty tickled with how it turned out… just clever I thought! Don’t you love it when you amaze yourself! I know, quit laughing… I can be pretty cheesy! Gotta admit… it’s fun for a change! = )
Then there is a brand NEW Butterfly die this month called Wings from CC Designs… and a cool Wings stamp set to match it! I just used the die for this card but the stamp set has mega potential for fun creating! They’re in the store HERE.
oooh… long post today…one more picture and I’m off to make a card for tomorrow’s Tuesday Review… OH, I should tell you to make time to go to All That Scraps blog too!!! Lesa has a tutorial for us today and you’ll want to bookmark it because it’s on die-cutting your stamped images… pretty cool! AND easy too! You’ll need it for your Wings stamp set and die! Penelope and Zip definitely brighten the day! Super cute! I stamped them both with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Hammermil Color Copy Cover, cut them out and colored them with Copic Sketch markers. Penelope’s dress colors are BG11, 53, 75. Hair colors are E50, 51, 31, 34. Shoes are E40’s. Zip is colored with YG00,01,02,03.
I used my favorite die ever to look like tree branches up in the left corner and sprigs down with the sentiment. The little flowers I used today are from a Martha Stewart border punch… teeny four leaf sweeties. I lay them on a mouse pad and push down in the center with the smallest tip embossing stylus. I did put a black mark in the center and a teeny bit of R81 too.
Amazing again how easy it is to layer with the Perfect Layers Tools/Rulers… I used my Omnigrid 1 in x 6 in. ruler and mini rotary cutter to cut around the sentiment… then cut the layers with the Perfect Layers Tools 1/16th in. Sweet! love them! (link on the right in my sidebar) Yes, I am an enabler… but I will never tell you about something that I’m not completely sold on too!
What a happy dragonfly! I sparkled up his wings with Distress stickles.. the clear one… Man that stuff comes out in a blob! I had to spread it around with my paper piercer… the hole is too big in the bottle or I just don’t know how to do it! I do like how it looks though… whew… he’s so cute all cut out!
