Hi everyone! We interrupt the Christmas cards for a Fall card! It’s getting close to that time, when the leaves start changing and definitely dance in the wind!
I love this pretty NEW poppystamps Autumn Leaves Sidekick Frame. I laid the stencil over the die cut and inked the leaves with regular Distress Inks and the mini ink blender tools. The colors I used were Forest Moss, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed.
Then I laid the stencil over the actual thin metal die and using the ink pad, tapped some ink onto the leaf vein lines. Then I put the die cut back in the metal die and pressed the paper into the lines…that’s how I ended up with ink in the veins here and there. They look like dying leaves! lol
I die cut a rectangle background piece to fit behind the frame with the Memory Box Basic Rectangles dies. I inked it with Distress ink also and did some water spatters, let it dry and then gold heat embossed the sentiment from the NEW poppystamps Autumn Leaves clear stamp set.
I was going to just add some gold cord and tie a bow but it hit me to try wrapping the cord up the side of the die cut! I liked it a lot and thought it made the leaves truly look like they were dancing in the wind! YAY!
I hope you’re having fun being creative these days… it’s been all hot and muggy again here…makes it easy to stay inside!
Thank you for stopping by!
Here’s what I used to make this card…

Very pretty Pam. Fall is my favorite and especially leaves!! I really loved the cord running along the side! Plus the fact that it is mostly green!!!
Beautiful card love the die with the leaves the gold cord wrapped around the frame how clever.
That die is gorgeous, and you’ve made a fabulous card with it — great card!

Wow Pam, you’re right it does look like the leaves are dancing! Beautiful card!
lovely leaves
Rich fall colors…it’s even prettier to see up close!
Love the effect of the cord! At first glance it looks like metal wire, but cording is so much easier to work with!
Wow! Interesting to read about it here. LOVE the colors and the inking of the leaves and background. Way cool how you did the leaves. I really like the laced up cord, too. It does add movement!
What a pretty card. Thanks for sharing.
Pam this is such an amazing card – the thread as the wind is absolutely beautiful!!!
Love the cord wrapped down the side! It gives it a “billowy” (Is that even a word?) effect. 😁 You’re so creative! Beautiful card Pam!
