Memory Box …it’s high time we get together!!!

Pam Sparks Postal Balloon HI

Welcome Saturday and everyone! Guess I’ll settle for this is how we’ll get together today! haha

Some time ago, I did a couple Balloon cards with inlay die cutting…when I saw a couple challenges this week, I knew, I HAD to play!  So yesterday I made this.  A happy card.

Memory Box dies, a little Doodlebug washi tape and a poppystamps sentiment!  Now this balloon is retiring but Cindy has it in stock still.  I saw there are new balloon dies though, so I’ll link to all of them in the inlinz below.

Using the mini ink blending tool, I sponged Salty Ocean Distress ink on to the Stitched Square die cut… I die cut a few of the clouds in the square first, that’s why they are deeper color around the cloud.  The two clouds going off the square I die cut after I thought I was finished with the square. lol  So I had to do a little inking to get the same deeper inking effect around the clouds.  Just do it before you tape in the clouds.

I had fun making this! yay!

Linking to some challenges…

Virginia’s View Challenge – miss you, hello or friendshipPanama-322
Muse Challenge #161 – the square and inlaid die cutting

  1. Love that red one… Could use for Fourth of July…remember when I purchased my home ballon races here would fly across field behind house and look so neat in my big window. But alas thr route changed.
    Sad…

  2. I really love your “happy” hot air balloon cards! Each and every one are perfect to the finest details! Beautiful work!!!!! Are any of your cards for sale? I would be very interested for a few of the speciality ones in this post! LOVE THEM!!!!!

  3. Oooooh so cute!! I love the little bit of washi tape! That adds so much! The inlaid technique looks so good and fabulous blended sky! Your older cards are adorable too!

  4. Well I think it is high time too but I am still working on Christmas cards. You could NOT get me up in one of those balloons. I don’t care how pretty they are!

  5. Inlaid dies is one of my favourite techniques and you nailed it here! Love the colour and ‘texture’ of the sky! So glad you joined us at Muse this week, Pam!

  6. Too cute Pam! Love your sky blue colors and the clouds are wonderful with the floating balloon. How fun! Thanks Pam for sharing your previous balloon cards as well. Made my day!

  7. Loving the inlay Pam!! The blue Salty Ocean color and how you perfected this look is amazing for the sky!! The washi peeking too is just perfect Pam!!!

  8. They are all terrific examples of the inlaid technique, I need to give it another try, like how you have the clouds going off the edge like that and the second has such an old vintage look to it!

  9. The inlay is amazing – I think patience is the key here (I have tried it). When you mentioned a bit of washi tape I had to go back and look – love how you placed just a bit of it. Great job.

  10. All of your cards are quite lovely. Such a wonderful scene in your first card, and I love the inlaid die cuts. Thanks so much for playing along at HLS Case the Designer and for CASEing my card.

  11. Oh what neat cards. I’ve done some inlaid ones and love that technique. Love how you did the clouds. What a great idea! And like someone already said, “would be perfect for the 4th of July”.

  12. Beautiful work all around, Pam! I love all the inlaid die that you did! Each one of them is superb! So glad that you join the fun over Virginia’s View “Friendship” Challenge!

  13. Love your cute cards. The layered stitched and postage mats look great together and the little touches of washi just finish it off perfectly. Thanks for playing along at Muse x

I love hearing from you! Thank YOU!
