Tutorial: adding a subscribe box to your blog…

I wrote this up for a gal last night and then the thought crossed my mind that others would want it also….I love being able to subscribe to blogs via email and feedburner makes it easy!

Here’s how to add the subscribe via email box to your blog!

  • go to http://feedburner.google.com
  • you probably already have an account,  so log in
  • if you don’t have an account,  set one up
  • then go to”my account” – top right corner..will look like this…

  • click on “Google Feed Burner” it’s straight across from MY ACCOUNT
  • the page that comes up is going to show the name of your blog under “feed title” – click on your  blog name
  • the page that opens shows tabs…photo below…analyze/optomize/publicize etc.

  • click on the publicize tab
  • on the page that comes up,  in the menu on the left choose/click “EMAIL Subscriptions”
  • the instructions and codes are right there for your type of blog and for the kind of subscribe box you would like to show on your blog
  • NOTICE the other options in the menu on the left under this same “publicize” tab… delivery option is really nice.  After you complete your post each time you update your blog,  come here and choose the time you want your email to be delivered to your subscribers.  I bookmark the delivery option page and keep it in my bookmark tool bar,  makes it fast and easy to get to.
*****If you are a WordPress.com user like I am,  there is a new widget you can add to your sidebar in your widget options!!!  It is awesome!  Add it to your blog and anyone can subscribe,  no matter what blog creator they use.  Your post updates go immediately to their email inbox…love it! Anyone leaving you a comment can subscribe by checking the box below their comment,  subscribing to your blog via email also*****  COOL!
Have fun and enjoy more subscribers when you use these methods!

Come Out and Play…

4429899398_9cdaa55840_oJoanElliotSnowfriends

Come Out and Play is the name of this cute stamp by Joan Elliott available at 7KidsCollegeFund.com.  I saw this sketch on the Sketch Saturday challenge blog and just had to finish this card!  I’ve had it colored for a month or more! ugh!

I stamped the bear and snowman on Neenah super-smooth Classic Crest 80# card-stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with copic sketch markers and cut into a circle with nestabilites circle die….

Snow time B3995  is a new stamp from Printworks Winter release, stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink…(if you don’t find it on the site,  just include the item # in the comment box)  I used my over-worked stamp a ma jig to get the placement just right! Love that thing!

The main background is embossed with a Sizzix Texture plate… the smaller rectangle piece is a cuttlebug embossing folder from Cropstop.com….

Martha Stewart snowflake punch for the corner…

1/8 in. ribbon from Creative Impressions.com…

black gemstones for the buttons (missing in photo, lol,  added after photo session)…

snowball bling from Michael’s…

Here I am posting a snowman and it’s raining here this week!   Just so you’re prepared…probably be another snowman coming soon! lol   AND some Magnolia Tilda’s I hope!

I stamped Darby and Bumbles on Neenah Classic Crest Super smooth 80# card-stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers.  YG 90’s for the greens,  YR12,14,18 for the orange,  y11, 15 for the bee,  E21,34,37 for her hair, E50, 000,00,01,R00, R20 for her skin.  oh,  don’t forget the grays…W0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and the sky B0000, 000, 00, 01.

The pattern paper is Basic Grey Mellow.  The grass is a new Martha Stewart punch.  Not sure where the ribbon came from but guessing it’s American Crafts.  Button is Making Memories.

I used the elongated rectangles nestabilities dies behind Darby and EK Success circle punches for Bumble!

“You Make me smile” is a Hero Arts stamps, stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Every thing is edged with the ink blending tool and distress ink.

I used my new Martha Stewart score board to score the Bazzill card-stock card base!!!!  oh my,  I LOVE it!  I know,  sounds silly but the most basic  tools give the most professional look!  I don’t like the bone folder that came with it…very flimsy,  but it works perfect with my teflon bone folder!  Love it!

Some other great challenge blogs I’m linking my card to…

Here’s a close up of Darby and Bumbles…hope she makes you smile!
